"Never Risk Your Future in a Man's Heart" (Song Bei Jing, English sub)
I was interested in watching this drama when I saw the trailer and read the synopsis. Once you pass the quirky sentence of the synopsis: "Song Mi Duo who's been single since birth..." (and she is only 18 turns 19, lol), the phrase "unique sleeping arrangement" will definitely catch your attention. So the start sounds promising with unique plot and catchy trailer... not so for the content of the drama though, and I definitely blame it on the directing and editing. Overall it is a light-hearted romcom without paying attention to the quality of production.Like:
- The why and how the 'unique sleeping arrangement' happen are actually pretty reasonable once you watch a few beginning episodes to understand.
- Prologues of in the beginning of next episodes explain what actually happen during the previous episodes
- The strong friendship between Mi Do, Xiao Mi, and Yi You is one to be envied for, as they go through thick and thin with Mi Do relating to the famous Xi Song.
- The drama does not end with the girl following the boy. I love Mi Do's parents objection and advice to their daughter (hence the title of my review above).
- I am satisfied with the 'fate' written for the supporting characters (Xiao Mi, Yi You, and Su Li).
- Xi Song giving house keys to Mi Do symbolizes trust in relationship
- Good acting of actress Chen Yi Xin as the cutie pie and childish Song Mi Do. Despite dislike comment on her appearance, I think red curly hair is quite rare for Asian female movie/drama roles but it's unique and fits very well with Mi Do.
- Good acting of actor Wang Zi Xin as the aloof yet sincere Xi Song. You may think Zi Xin act is stiff, but it fits the role he played. Once you know about Xi Song's background and condition, you understand his childlike traits and why he does not have the amenities other people do. Also, the same reasons why Liang Ge and the housekeeper overprotect him.
- Good acting of both actress Yang Ke as sassy Xiao Mi with big sister heart, and actor Xue Cheng as the lovelorn yet loyal Yi You.
- Great acting of Mi Do's parents. The chemistry between Xi Song and Mi Do is good, but the chemistry between Mi Do's parents is sizzling! Her parents are hilarious and shows PDA everywhere. The actor/actress who play the parents acted comfortably with each other, probably due to them having more experiences in acting than the young cast.
- Mi Do's gorgeous mom
- Mi Do's cute accessories and stuffed animals
Dislike:
- Bad directing and editing as I mentioned above. Probably bad screen writing too, but I cannot really tell due the the English sub
- For a modern day drama has unrealistic scenes that may make you cringe, just give you some examples:
1) A famous pianist is treated like a pop/rock idol star by the young college kids and public??? Not that I look down on classical music or classical musician's fame, but Xi Song is treated as some sort of deity to worship that Mi Do is harassed and bullied because of him.
2) Mi Do's parents do not care at all on their daughter's whereabouts after her birthday party??? Despite her best friend Yi You urging them to call the police. And Mi Do's does not call her parents informing that she will be late...
3) Xi Song's dad pinches Mi Do's cheek at their first meeting??? While she and her parents does not know who he is and the housekeeper does not even greet him...
- Some draggy conversations and filler scenes, typical Chinese dramas.
- The drama does not tell you about Mi Do's accomplishment in writing novel, only a brief mentioning during Xi Song and Mi Do's conversation in the last episode.
- The choice of wardrobe for Xi Song ( martial art-type of clothing)
Lastly, kudo to Yulia Chan from Youtube for completely subbed this drama. Although Mandarin and English are not her native languages, her sub is not bad as we get to understand the story-line and she took time to make a praise-worthy effort.

Heartwarming
I just have to say WOW this has been one of the best dramas I've seen. There's no complicated love triangles. No over the top evil characters and no opposing parents.
When I started this drama I didn't have much hopes for it but as soon as I started watching more and more I fell in love with their relationship. The way she is willing to fight for him even though she knows she might get hate from his fans is extraordinary.
Their love story was very sweet, how she slowly opened the door to his heart. If you are thinking about watching this go for it you won't regret it... Its a sweet story with not much drama or misunderstandings between the main couple.

It's a cute story, I mean the plot is. The idea of everything is cute and fluffy but the problem is the execution of it all. It was poorly written so because of that the flow of the story never really made sense to me.
If it was written better then I think the drama would have shined but it was really poorly written that even though it was cute, it wasn't satisfying in any way.
You will most likely be left feeling disappointed.
On a positive note though, I think the actors acted well even though it was poorly written.

24 episodes of nothing
The first criticism that comes to mind when thinking of this show is that the title doesn't really match the story. It's called "My neighbour can't sleep" but his insomnia is cured after the 10th episode and is never mentioned after that. The rest of the story is pretty meh. I kept watching the show and thinking what is the point of this?Nothing really happens. Or at least nothing related to the title. Of course they included the usual c-drama cliché, where the childhood friend of the male lead (a girl) comes back and tries to get with him. In general I felt like there were a bunch of episodes where nothing important really happened. By episode 22 the main couple was together and happy, but they still had 2 episodes to fill in, so they decided to jam in a whole new topic: she wants to wait a year to go to university so she can go to that art school to be with him. Everyone advises her not to do that because it would compromise her future, but she doesn't care cause she loves him more (eye roll). In the end the main couple ends up fighting, he leaves due to his job, she thinks they broke up and goes to uni, he comes back and buys a place near her uni.
This is really disappointing, bot only because it is super rushed, but because in 2019 I am expecting a bit more of feminism. Throughout the whole show she doesn't really know what she wants to do with her life, I mean she likes writing but she's not good at it. So why couldn't she focus on improving? We see him practice playing the piano. NOOO she prefers spending her time responding to comments online about them as a couple and daydreaming, then at the last minute decides to study piano even though she always hated it. The woman finally was allowed to study writing and she wants to throw it away for a dude she barely knows. In the end she goes to uni, but only because he left, not because she understood she was wrong.
Furthermore, I was a bit confused by how time passed in this show. They repeatedly state that she's there on holiday and that it's going to end soon, but then she's still there and they seem to forget about the holiday part. But then without any notice they make 3 weeks go in just 2 episodes, so bizarre.
Finally, not a deal breaker, but still the outfits were hideous and outdated.

Started well, turned into boring drivel
This started out cute, funny, and adorable. I enjoyed the first half.It quickly devolved into boring drivel and I didn't even ship the romance by the end. Her parents were a mess, and the story got very weird. The heroine's mom had been a super fan of Xi Song since he was a little kid, and it was freaking bizarre and creepy AF. Supposedly, Xi Song rubbed her pregnant belly when he was a little kid & that was the first encounter between him and the heroine. Like, YIKES. Then they met again when she was a little kid, still creepy. The mom being obsessed with this piano player for twenty years was too far for me, as was the subplot where she RESOLUTELY would not allow her daughter to date, unless of course, it was her forever stan, Xi Song, in which case --GO GET IT, Mi DO. All of that sort of freaked me out. I definitely wasn't expecting those super weird vibes. The mom kept calling him her son & I was starting to worry that maybe they were going for a forbidden love incest story. Turns out, no, she's just an obsessive super fan.
Honestly, I didn't find any of that characters to be likable with the exception of the heroine. She was a bit ditzy, but good natured. I won't say she was immature because she was only 19, and I think that part was pretty accurate. Don't get me started on the hero. He was supposed to be on the autism spectrum, but that doesn't mean he can't use technology or show consideration for others. At the end, he left the heroine without saying bye and then ignored her for three weeks while he was on tour. The reason? He forgot his phone. Well, sure, Xi Song. How could you be expected to use email or ask someone else to pass a message in this day and age? There's no way he could've let her know that he wasn't able to read her messages? That's bullshit, plain and simple. In her shoes, I'd have assumed we're broken up. His explanation was gravely insufficient, and I wasn't on board with them getting together at the end.
tl;dr -- the premise was cute but it quickly devolved into weirdness and disappointment, do not recommend

I GUESS I LIKED IT?
Okay so me being me i'm into this cringy shit sometimes and I liked it at the time I watched it and I've recently rewatched it and tbh I'm suprised I still enjoy it so my rating gonna be the same. I found the ml surprisingly very attractive regardless of what others say and the fls hair is actually so cutee. The only thing that some ppl might not like is the age gap in the drama not irl but idm tbh since I've watched worse. This is a decent show to watch when ur bored. Another downside is don't watch it with sound since it sounds rlly bad like a voice recorder. If u watch this with sound it will seem like ur watching some vlog that u find in ur kids phone. Was this review helpful to you?
First of all, the couple was adorable. Plus, they had chemistry, which helped a lot with the progress of the drama. So, overall, the romance was pretty good. In addition, the pace was excellent and the drama was quick, short and sweet.
However, there were some things that bothered me, mostly about the leading lady. She was suppose to write a novel, but she hardly ever did. Also, in one scene she was promising never to bother the lead again, and then she just forgets about it and she chased after him again.
But, other than that, the drama had a super cute romance and it was light and easy to watch. So, overall, eight out of ten.

Short Sweet And To The Point (Perfect Weekend Drama)
This drama was super good! First of all, it was only 24 episodes rather than the typical 30+ episodes so it wasn't unnecessarily lengthy and didn't require me to skip through episodes. Also, despite it being a shorter show it was paced perfectly and didn't feel rushed whatsoever. The story was well done and didn't have too many cliches. Almost a 10 but there were a few plots in the storyline I wish were better addressed but nonetheless it was good. This is probably the first show in which I actually fell more for the female lead than the male lead. She was AMAZING and I thought her character was so cute and loveable and at moments I even giggled at her cute antics. Despite this being her first starring drama role her acting was so good and it shocked me when I realized this was only her first big role. The chemistry between the leads was quite good and the side characters were great because they were introduced and even given some backstories but the story mostly focused on the leads which I liked. Also, no clingy third parties or back and forth love triangles (at least not anything too serious).Defenitly worth a watch. Maybe even a good weekend drama that can be finished in 2-3 days.

Waiting to be sub and even without sub i watched because even i dont know mandarin the gestures and facial expression is enough to catch my attention. Watching it for the 4th times already. I was hooked from beginning to end. No draggy moments for me.The main lead. They have great chemistry. Song Mido qs you watched her you will imaging yourself as a teenager once again.
The Ost , i loved the song from beginning to end.
Everything for heart fluttering. No dull moments. It helps me relax and forget the problem of pandemic.

Nice and very simple love story ,neighbour who can't able to sleep and accidentally female lead character sleep beside him and that he had a sound sleep .What I didn't like about the drama that are
1.the way she entered his room ,such thing can't be possible ,the direction should be different of her entry to his room.
2.The reason he able to have a sound sleep was a fragrance of lavender not she ,but he didn't realized this thing and thought it is because of her and eventually fall of her but till the end no one knew the reason of his sound sleep, what I thought that he should knew the reason and get confused about his feeling towards her that he actually love her ,he really felt the warm between them or it is because the fragrance of lavender such twist should be there, so it get interesting .
3.they should show the reason about why he had insomnia ,may be his past love history ..So they should show his past love story .
4.In the last episode they had shown that female lead actress's parent past story when her mother got pregnant with her and he is around 11years old and that time also he was so famous and her parents were his fan and they met him and he touch her mother's belly and her father click the pic so since that time they had connection but they do not know about this ,they should know about this at the end .
5.the age gap between them would be between 9 and 11 years but didn't not seen between them ,he look so young and approx of her age only.
.If I avoid all above mention points then it was good drama

Light Hearted and Fluffy Drama!
I stumbled upon this drama and was pleasantly surprised because I really liked it! Its a fluffy, light, and easy watch with 25 minutes episodes. The mini flashbacks in the beginning of each episode was a nice touch and let us know where the ML's heart really was. The chemistry between the leads was cute and I enjoyed both of the actors. They weren't perfect in their reaction to situations but I appreciated it because at the end of the day, it was how a 19 year old or 20 something year old would react. The ML did a great job portraying the typical cold and socially awkward man who falls for the sweet and bubbly girl next door. The FL was cute and had the brightest smile. I liked that she didn't have the typical bob and straight bangs. Chinese dramas tend to dress the FL either as an 8 year old in Mary Janes (oh why!!!) or a grandmother in lace and frills, so I LOVE that she was in converse and overalls (can't ever go wrong with that combination). Her relentless pursuit of the ML set her apart from those of us that would have held onto our pride. But then again, who knows. The ML gave her enough hints to his true feelings so she wasn't off in believing he liked her. If anything, I think we saw her as the free spirit that the writer's wanted her to be.
Overall, I really liked this drama and time flew by watching 24 episodes!!
