That is just my opinion

the storyline is too boring, feels long when watched, more boring than I imagined, I think just bored at the beginning of the drama (untuk 3 or 5 eps)

I don't think it's as interesting as people say,not as annoying as people say

The story is very ordinary, except that the actors are beautiful and the acting is not bad, I don’t know which point is good.

the annoying is not the role of the characters, but the script dan plot is twisted

too many words of outpouring ,cut off, long, and useless

Editing and cutting out parts is very bad, and unclear, many are displayed vaguely and get no explanation
Unclear ending, what happened with joon young? Why end like that?!

I try to give a good rating, but honestly it is not worthy ,, even though I think at least the ending will end well

too Arrogant towards the rating that has been obtained

some things that make me confused:

Ep 6. isn't that a one-way street? , how can his wife go home first without passing tae oh? and told him, she waiting at home?

what was the agreement made by sun woo with Da Kyung's father?

Isn't Tae Oh detained for 2 years? , how can he film a movie?

PS: for those who are not yet 20, wisely watch this movie, may be used as an education, but do not lose consciousness

Everyone is being too harsh on the ending.

This is the first drama I have ever given a 10/10 to and I do not regret giving it that. Everyone else saying that this is shit or not as good, are just bull******* they have no taste or appreciation for dramas that are this different, dramas that completely challenge the conventions we see in other dramas. I can just say that I do NOT regret watching this and as for the ending, I don't think the whole drama should be defied by the ending as other people seem to think so. Just watch the first episode and if by the end of the episode you aren't tearing out your hair then, I'll stand corrected (But not really because this drama is a work of art).

I've watched all kinds of dramas, and after watching this one I've discovered what kind of drama I'd prefer not to watch. This drama is too dramatic for my taste and everything is extremely exaggerated and fully blown out of proportion. I have no idea how people are calling this drama "realistic". The realistic aspect of this drama is the negative consequences you get from wrong decisions but saying that this drama is realistic is too much of an overstatement. After watching this, I dare you to say that actions coming from the drama are societal norms in your country.

What I didn't like about this drama is that there was barely any story build-up. Some would disagree, but I'm saying this because almost the entire time the drama was filled with tension. From start to almost the end, nothing was peaceful and you wouldn't anticipate anything big to suddenly happen. Scenes were fairly easy to predict; you wouldn't ask yourself "what's going to happen", it's more like "how it's going to happen". You'll know exactly what'll happen but not to what extent/degree. For 80% of the drama, I was completely annoyed with only one thing..... and that's for you to find out....

Now let's talk about a few positive things on why this drama was a success:
-The cast was amazing! Everyone did a job; acting was on point.
-Kim Hee Ae was honestly the saving grace of this drama. She definitely deserves the best actress award she
received from the Baeksang Awards.
- Kim Young Min and Park Sun Young roles were also my favorite.
-Honestly, the story itself wasn't anything special to begin with; it's how the drama was directed that deserves
high-praise.

Overall, it's a good drama; just not my cup of tea. I wouldn't really recommend this drama -- especially for light/casual watchers and newbies.

The world of the married is a scary world tied in a psychological battle between the ones who want to protect, the ones who want to destroy after being destroyed, and the ones who go out of hand into a crazy circle of revenge. It was a crazy intense roller-coaster with iconic characters.
Honestly not all relationship go this way and not all worlds of the married are like this. This is the world of the couples described in this drama. While there can be many couple’s like this out there in reality, not everyone is like that.

If one asks me if they should watch this, well I think I will tell them to try and see. This was an absolute hit in Korea and it was not because of pretty actors or over-hyped story. This drama is really well made and it can seem to go smoothly and slow at first but each episode gives a big shock to you at the end and you are left there with goosebumps waiting for the next episode. However I don’t thing I can lightheartedly recommend it to everyone. There are two or three friends I know that I won’t recommend this to. So I think It is a matter of personal preference and that if you are wondering if you should watch this try the first two episodes and see if it intrigues you  It is a mature psychological drama that can be difficult to watch at times but it is also captivating at times.

Ji Sun Woo is perfect woman with a perfect family. She has loving husband, loving friends, loving son, and a great job where she excels as an amazing doctor. They have a big house and even though the husband sometimes struggles to get investors for his movie productions, they are not struggling and earn enough to have a quite content and almost luxurious life.
So what happens when you learn that all of this is not as perfect as it seems. One small seed of doubt falls into Ji Sun Woo’s mind and that small seed leads her to several small and later big actions. While searching for truth the seed grows bigger and bigger becoming a tree and the real picture the truth covered deep into lies can’t hold on any longer, and it starts pouring out of all the cracks made by the roots of that tree of doubt. Ji Sun Woo’s world collapses and drowns in that sea of truth. With her world coming crumbling down she has to struggle to no go down with it. She starts to take bigger and bigger actions which eventually lead her into completely different life that the one she imagined she will have before learning the truth.
Cheating is always bad and even if some forgive their spouses and live with them the aftertaste still remains, deep in their hearts.
That is why this is a heavy drama. Tied into lies, cheating and misery.
But inside all that Ji Sun Woo tries to be strong. To protect her child mother can do anything. And one shouldn’t make a woman angry…. If a man’s revenge can be straightforward, woman will do anything, even embarrassing herself and stepping on her own pride just to protect her child and herself. You shouldn’t mess with a woman. Well actually, you shouldn’t mess with anyone.
Many people I think were absolutely shocked with this drama and and older audience sometimes saw themselves in Ji Sun Woo or other characters. And even if she can be wrong sometimes one can’t help but start to root for her.

Lee Tae Oh is seems to be a perfect husband but is actually very weak person ready to move after a skirt if that skirt is smart enough. He seems to like only certain type of women and Da Kyung was one of them. Well I did feel sympathetic towards Da Kyung sometimes but honestly she was just ignorant clueless girl without any deep thoughts..... She can be wrong and fall in love with a married person, yes... but the moment she learns that he is married, the moment she tries to destroy that family....... that's when it turns ugly and the bridges are burned. She was blinded to protect her dignity and the "foreverprincess" status which could lead her only to misery. My mom's former colleague actually was not pretty or reach but she somehow seduced a married man, made him divorce from his wife and 5 kids and is now living with him and they have a kid.... watching this drama made me remember her and on the other hand it made me remember a teacher in his 40s in my former school who fell in love with his student and left his perfect wife and the son he loved so much for that little 18 year old girl... The man here of course are also to blame but the young girls giving themselves to cheaters and ruining not only the other family's life bit also their own lives is very sad. Once a cheater, forever a cheater.... Da Kyung in this drama wanted to build a perfect family too as well as her parents wanted that from her. But not always everything goes as planned.
And of course there is Joon Young, the poor son who at his age can't be anything but selfish. Drowned into the world of traumas one after the other and the divorce is just the smallest of that.

I really liked the side couple and their aftermath. They were quite well done.
And of course this dramas scene stealer! The girl who didn't have a big role but was helping Ji Sun Woo and stuggling of the abusive boyfriend. Her performance was great and you couldn't help but root for her.

it is some amazing performance by all the actors. Especially actress who played Ji Sun Woo did an phenomenal job. I feel somewhat sorry for the actor who played the husband as the more love this drama got the more hate he got.
I don’t enjoy this genre but when I started it I couldn’t stop. It kept me on the edge the whole time and I couldn’t wait for the next episode. Each and every single episode made my blood boil and left me in rage.

My rating is not high because around the 10th episode I stopped agreeing with what Ji Sun Woo was doing. And the more it went the less I was feeling for them. I wasn’t happy with the ending too. As it left me with some questions and some things done wrong but that might have intentional so it might be my subjective preference. So my rating went down and down. However I am glad they didn’t go the same way as the original.

I never rewatch dramas so I put a random number in there.

Everyone says that this drama worth watching. However, I feel that it is just like any adultery dramas where the husband will eventually regret cheating his wife and wants to go back to the wife and child. Even though the story is entertaining, seeing how it progress every episode, but, it does not give me a feeling that it is better than other adultery dramas. I hope that eventually, the female lead will find her happiness. I have to say that the actress and actors did a great job in portraying the emotions.

The plot is dark and it's only for mature audience. One can't rely on any of the character. One second you may think they are nice and the next second they must be back-stabbing someone. This drama is full of thrills, twists, betrayals, revenge. I feel it has that 'makjang' thing taking things far-fetched. The episode ends with such cliffhanger that will make you watch next episode. You'll be screaming on top of your lungs swearing at those stupid, cunning characters but you'll still watch it. I was (and i'm still) surprised that the ratings has crossed that of other dramas. This maybe because the things going on is quite realistic.

Consequences of obsession

If you like exploring the darkest depths of twisted human relationships, this is a great story to get absorbed into. Kim Hee Ae and Park Hae Joon play their roles as a couple with a son whose marriage goes wrong in the most wrong ways possible. Both actors are stellar, playing their obsessive, anxious characters masterfully, as they dig themselves deeper into darkness and extreme obsession. I love that this show featured a cast of older actors (they really aren't that old) in a sea of shiny young stars. We need more stories about older people.

Here's the thing though. There is absolutely zero redemption in this story. I was hooked, watching each episode, wanting to know what happens next as the plot twists and turns. And I wanted to root for at least one character, but in the end, there was no one to hang on to. I couldn't even root for Joon Young, the couple's innocent son, because he wasn't written with enough depth and didn't quite have enough screen time. This makes the show extremely depressing to the point of just being absurd. In our current COVID world, I prefer something with a touch of redemption. And the way in which this story played out, there were glimmers of it but they were all crushed by the end.

So it's a hard show to rate. The acting is fantastic and the dialogue is fine, but the way it makes you feel as a viewer leaves a lot to be desired. I wish I could say I am supremely impressed by the skill it took to tell such a twisted story that keeps on twisting your guts, or how the dialogue between the characters provided so much insight into the darkness of the human soul. Instead, I walk away from this thinking it was unsatisfying and pretty much a waste of time. Half way through, you realize the show will just keep dishing out the same types of elements for the rest of the ride, and no matter how extreme the elements are, there simply is no point to any of it. You stop caring about the characters because they don't deserve your care. All in all, I strongly believe this would have worked much better as a movie where elements left off screen and unsaid can be maximized instead of dragging it all out in repetitive ways.

A drama which is true to every character’s motivations.

This drama showcases the spectacular unravelling of what appears to be a picture perfect marriage.
Sun Woo and Tae Oh’s married life begins an irreversible downward spiral when Sun Woo discovers that he has been cheating on her; a game of cat and mouse, revenge and one-upmanship ensues between the devastated Sun Woo and the self - justifying Tae Oh.

The actions of these two eventually led me to not root for them as both are equally flawed and grey characters. Initially Sun Woo has the moral high ground as the wronged wife, but soon enough some of her actions become morally questionable. In her quest to best her ex husband, Sun Woo makes some very questionable decisions and is only concerned with winning the war.

The other characters are very well fleshed out, and I was especially impressed with the skillful handling of the relationship between Ye Rim and Je Hyuk; the ebb, flow and final ebb of their marriage is realistically exposed.
Da Kyung, the mistress who became a wife, had my sympathy sometimes, I suppose that’s a testament to the excellent acting in this show. In fact Da Kyung’s handling of Tae Oh is way more impressive than Sun Woo’s.

This drama also depicts women’s role in society quite well. In the beginning Sun Woo was shunned after the divorce, and even before that her friends kept secrets behind her back. Tae Oh’s secretary is a divorced mother of one and has been relegated to the fringes of society, she is ineligible to mingle with her peers simply because she’s divorced.
Sun Woo is at one point criticized behind her back for standing up for herself and not letting Tae Oh get away with his shameless actions.

The acting in this is brilliant by each and every cast member, for me that’s the biggest draw of this show, the self assured acting ensured that I was always fully engaged and duly impressed while watching the show.

I understand that this is an adaptation of the BBC’s Doctor Foster. The Korean version is less conniving and mean spirited, it has an element of emotional softness if that makes sense.

The two victims of this saga are the two children Joon Young and Je Ni.

What I didn’t like so much was the way the show used dramatic music and sound effects to ratchet up the suspense, ultimately this turned out to be overkill because of the trajectory the show ended up following.

The ambiguous ending was a bit meh for me, show was strong throughout so it would have been great to end on a strong note.

There were some unanswered questions like who killed In Gyu? I didn’t like the way Hyun Seo was discarded abruptly from the storyline, it would have been great to see how she was faring at the conclusion of the story.

The ost is good, I noticed and appreciated the music but it remained unobtrusive.

After watching the first two episodes, I was convinced I’d give this drama a 10, but ultimately it turned out to be a 9, and the majority of this score is for the phenomenal acting.

Definitely worth watching.

Worth watching & shocking thriller. The most nerve wrecking & messiest show I've ever seen. This show offers every problem & the worst case scenario of married life. Every second I was scared thinking what would happen next. Every ep of the show kept me on toes & every ep was full of shocks & things no one would ever imagine. If you once start this show you can't rest or live peacefully until you end it. The plot, story, directing, acting, music everything of the show was fantastic. This show can be too much pressure for some people as the story is too shocking but if you like thrills, it's a must watch.

We can forgive, but we can’t forget

It is a very heavy drama with so many twists, turns, revenge, betrayal and forgiveness. I never thought I’d actually like this genre, but I did. I cried because I could feel their pain. I sympathized not only with the protagonists but also with the antagonists. I smiled for the bittersweet ending and how things get back on its place. I lived the moment when the characters live the comfort of their vacation from the twisty scenes

This drama will make you feel anger, sadness, pity, happiness and comfort. It’s a heavy drama, and it lives up to its genre. These 16 episodes could be divided into two different series. First half is around ep 1-6, the second is around episode 7-16.

There are only gray characters in this drama, atleast in my opinion. Everyone has their good sides and hidden evil within them, this applies to both protagonists and antagonists. Thus, my feelings towards the characters throughout the story has been constantly changing. I would hate one character in one episode to that point that I’d love to see him/her dead, then depend on them to save the day for the next episodes.

Story: The story is fully packed. Every scenes and episodes are full everything. It reminds me of dramas like Sky Castle, Penthouse, and Mine for example. Twists and turns, comforting drama here then bad omen within a single scene. It’s fully packed and you’re not gonna be bored.

Cast/acting: Well, I was thinking in earlier episodes why they chose the actor of the husband and why it was the wife, then I realized, because they were perfect for their characters. Now that I finished the drama, I couldn’t think of any other actors who could have played it better than them. The acting was superb, even their child’s act is on spot.

Music: I like that they included The package’s soundtrack “imagine” because honestly, it’s a beautiful song to soothe the drastic things happening in the drama, but I honestly can’t even remember a single ost from this drama at all, they were very forgettable and not effective to be mentioned.

Rewatch: I don’t think I would rewatch this drama because the only series I rewatch are fun melo and light hearted dramas, this is just too heavy to rewatch, and it may not give the same vibe since I already know what’s gonna happen.

Overall: It’s one of the best drama to binge-watch because you’d definitely ask for more in each episode ending. Most of us will remember the past relationships we had and relare to this so beware. Enjoy!

Pros and cons

Pros:
1. Amazing acting
2. Very real and well written 3d characters
3. Intense and intriguing first half

Cons:
1. Slow second half compared to the first
2. The ending isn't everyone's cup of tea
3. Some repetitive points in the plot

This is my first melodrama in years. It's good overall but could've been better! It's the intense first half that had me having too high expectations for the whole drama so the second half ended up being "okay" for me. However I don't regret watching, the acting and characters made up for it.

Complicated

Haven't binged watched a show in a long time. Start to finish was good in very sorted, complicated way. I felt uncomfortable and at moments emotionally overwhelmed by the storyline. Everyone played their role perfectly. Nothing was over the top which made it far too realistic.

Loved it and would definitely re-watch it. The son almost stole the show. He did a great job adding to the complexity. No easy answers in life or relationships and I think anyone who watches will find a connection with at least one of the characters.
