Nice Guy is my first melodrama and I totally like it!!

The show has all ingredients of a typical melodrama but it has that touch of a thriller which makes it all different.

The story is about a guy who sets out to take revenge from his girlfriend, who betrayed him.In the process, he uses a cold-hearted girl and falls for her instead.Well the story is nothing new but the treatment is.It is full of twists and turns.

Song Joong Ki plays his role perfectly.Moon Chae Won is fantastic and Park Si Yeon has acted really well. All other cast members have also done a great job.

The only thing that went for downside for me was that the emotional link with the characters was not that strong.

All in all... an interesting drama.

why wouldn't i give this drama a 10 .. for me this drama is very effing perfect.

when i first watched it i thought this would be boring but because i have nothing to watch i tried it and then for the first few minutes i was astonished. the story is very intriguing and you will never get bored. and it was proven that first impressions don't last.it is really a show that will captivate you in only a few minutes. this drama won't be a waste of time.

park si yeon was really good in acting. i hated her and that proves that her acting was really so great. actually i wanted to slap her in the face because everything she did was hurt song joong ki and also moon chae won.

as for moon chae won, i also kinda hated her because she was so selfish and a brat but then as the story progresses you will kinda pity her and feel how she was hurting so badly. you will feel anger against kang maru (song joong ki) because of how he tried to play with her feelings. but then you will also see how pure her character is.

as for song joong ki, you will hate him and also love him at the same time. he is just a man who was really crazy in love with the wrong girl and then manages to find miss right. for me his acting was really so great. i liked him in sungkyungkwan scandal but then in this drama i can say that i do not like him anymore but then i love him. he made me angry, cry and lastly fall in love.

and in addition Kwang soo was so epic. he was just a funny character but then as the story progresses he made me cry because of his love for his friend (maru) kya~ want to rewatch this again.

this drama will let you feel all kind of emotions. you will surely love this drama like how i love it..

for me this is one of the best kdrama!!!

To be honest, I expected more from this drama. I liked it in many aspects, but the story... For me, the only reason I watched the whole 20 episodes was the cast. Acting was so high that I decided to be patient and tolerate with such a cliched plot. So many times I was crying 'WTF?!'. I was really surprised that main characters didn't turn out to be brother and sister and none of them was suffering from cancer.

Nevertheless, I was glad that completed it, because the final was quite strong. If you watched 'That winter...', you will understand my feelings. By the way, both dramas have that changing from fake feelings to true love. But 'That winter...' is more realistic, I suppose. In 10s of XXI century I can't bear with Brazilian soap operas' plot twists. I admire the fact, that koreans are progressing so fast in making good dramas, but they still have a lot things to improve.

As for actors. It can't be denied that Song Joong Ki did a great job. His changing during the story was so striking! He is now one of my favorite asian actors.
I also liked the main female antagonist, Jae Hee. Her choice was immoral, but It's part and parcel of everyday's life. No doubt, you have heard of plenty girls aimed to hit the jackpot by all means.
Supporting characters (Kan Ma Roo's friend and his younger sister, Jae Hee's brother) were great too.

Drama is worth be watched (or listened - wonderful instrumental music themes!) , but still is very far from perfection.

Innocent Man, Nice Guy.

This is a very touching tale of young romance that leads into adult obsession and eventually tragedy and thankfully, back to normality for the characters. I give this drama an overall 10, and it is posted as one of my favorites of all time.

It took me a while to watch this drama. It came out almost 4 years ago, and I could not begin to watch as I watched Queen of Ambition a while ago, and I will admit - IM does immitate QOA with story line on the first episode, but if you keep going - and watch it for its own story and not think too hard about it, it wont be anything to really compare to.

I normally am not at all upset about Drama Cliches, as I love KDramas and the "fresher" they are, sometimes means they arent as fresh - the cliches to me are what make the drama whimisical, sweet and its a way for the writers to "reset" a lot of the story lines and go a different direction. I give the story a 9.5 only because the cliche goes double in this drama and although I think the first part was needed, the second time around made it hard to follow. You will see what I mean when you get to the end of the drama. I dont want to spoil it! The ending was a bit confusing. I am not the type of fan to dig too deep into the meanings, as a lot of these dramas are made to be good fun that dont require much digging. However, on episode 20 I began to wonder what the writers were trying to do. Its ok, I can easily look over it and see its as one of my favorite dramas.

The acting was superb. I became a MCH fan after this drama and I will be looking into her other work. I was also impressed by the acting by the former Miss Korea. I thought she did a great job, and she is very different to look at than a lot of other Korean actresses, so I was intrigued and enjoyed watching her. I also became a fan of SJK. I started the drama and thought, how is this cute, easy going guy going to convince me that he can be any kind of a jerk? Rest assured, his acting is superb and is now one of my favorite actors.

As with most dramas that are not airing, I binged watched this one. Very glad I didnt watch it when it was on air, as it would be have been took much to have to wait weekly for a new episode! I highly recommend this drama and that you binge watch it. Keep an open mind, heart and be prepared for a wonderful story!

I am currently rewatching this.

I've rated the cast, music and rewatch value by 10 and I am not sorry. This is the kind of melodrama that is something new. Every character are different, and their motives are clear and valid. They're all strong. That's what I love about this drama the most.

THE MUSIC IS FANTASTIC btw.

The cinematography's daebak. Their scripts are well-written (or sometimes I wonder, well-translated too?). I have to give the story a 7 because I can get really sick of melodramas (but not for this drama). The plot, if you examine, is not really unique. The characters are just well-developed and consistent 'till the end. I love the arrangements of scenes. There are on-cut scenes on this episode which would soon be continued and explained on the next. Just wonderful.

If I am to list down my favorite scenes, I may get a limit writing down here.

But of course it has to have flaws, if you want me talking in a critic's perspectives. I wish I could spoil lol. But really. this became my favorite, and I finished everything in 7 days. I hope I didn't sleep.

If you are planning to watch this drama then let me tell you this is best drama on love and sacrifice... But you need to be impartial when you start watching it if you already made up your mind to hate any character then you will lose the taste of spices that made this drama an exceptional work... Let your heart freely decide to love and hate characters don't judge them with your mind... Song and moon are amazing in this drama... Song looks too innocent but his real face is not that charming... The most wonderful thing about song is that you will get to know about him just in one second... When he is lying when he is deceiving and when he is truly in love you will know all just by seeing him in his eyes... He used his eyes and smile to act... Some scenes are worth rewatch to understand and swallow... This drama is like a 7 layered fruit cake and you will be surprised to have 7 different fruits in each layer... Just don't be biased and don't make judgement so easily... Chew it taste it and the swallow it...

This show did not give me a second of rest. It was just plot twist on plot twist on another plot twist. Honestly, I couldn't figure out if I liked Maru or not throughout the series. (I mean, personality wise, I couldn't figure out if he was an antagonistic character. Obviously, I LOVE him. Sooo sexy ~swoon~) But I liked that aspect. It was interesting. The characters weren't as one dimensional as many K-Drama characters are. Overall, this show had a smart plot that kept me on edge, and I constantly wanted more. I highly recommend it, as it's one of my top 10 shows. (I think I finished it within a week.)

As I've stated above, the story was pure genius. This plot sat at the fine line between innocent and edgy - it was cute and sexy and thrilling and angsty and dear lord, Song Joong Ki - and it was executed wonderfully. This show was a melodrama done RIGHT. The characters contained substance and were interesting to watch. The ending was my favorite part, because it wrapped the show up nicely, somehow managing to give the characters, even the antagonists, a happy ending. Speaking of antagonists, it was sometimes difficult to distinguish who the good guy was, which made the show all the more entertaining. Instead of outlining good and bad as black and white, the characters were all shades of gray (no 50 Shades jokes, please.) This really enhanced the plot, because humans are complicated, and they're not always either good or bad. I have no complaints about the plot.

Acting and cast: Song Joong Ki. Need I say more? This man was the embodiment of sexy and cute in this drama and I totally fell for him. But bias aside, his acting was on point. Before watching this show, I'd only seen Moon Chae Won as the second lead in "Take Care of the Young Lady", but she definitely shined in this show. The chemistry between the two was equally undeniable. The casting as a whole was perfect, and the side characters and antagonists were really great. Just remembering this show gives me chills of excitement!

The music wasn't memorable, but since it was a melodrama that strayed to a darker side, this point didn't really bother me. I feel like any upbeat or catchy music would have actually decreased the shows value, since the music would have clashed with the atmosphere of the show, making it seem like just another romantic drama.

Overall, I just loved everything about this show! It was definitely one of the more mature and well-made dramas I've watched. This show made me fall in love with both of the leads, and I highly recommend it. Fair warning, though: if you're a binge watcher and you're currently busy, I would not recommend starting this drama right now, because once you start, you won't be able to stop!

Update: It's been about a year since I watched this drama, and if I had the time, I would definitely rewatch it. (Perhaps just for Song Joong Ki ;3)

Disappointed

Horrible show. It was ridiculous, boring and really suffocating to watch. Although I started watching with great expectations, as I continued watching, I just wanted it to end as soon as possible. The main characters were pretty toxic which I don't have a problem with, but if the characters are to be created as toxic, it needs to be much more intimate than this. The dialogues were vulgar, silly and boring. There was no such thing as character development. The only reason I've kept watching is because I hate leaving things unfinished. Lee Sang-Yeob's acting and his character was the only good thing about this show.

Dragged on revenge plot that is so tiresome.

Cannot continue watching when I hated the main characters of the show. Like , how stupid the ML can be? Leaving a very sick sister behind, WTF right? He's a doctor for f*cks sake. Can't he attend to his sister first, bring her to the hospital then go for his love interest later? Then taking the blame for what his love had done? The absurdity continues.

Then that girl that he loves so much, in all intents and purposes claims to love him back but hurts him every five minutes.

Then came his FL, a hard ass woman full of angst and frustration. She's the only acceptable character for me, more realistic in way..

Rewatch value of this one? Not a chance.. Sure it has a happy ending, the last 3-5 minutes at the very last episode were the only happiness they gave us. I'm a sucker for happy endings, but this one just didn't make the cut..

After the first half on the drama you will be able to understand the story, if you are able to pass that you will be completely into the drama.

Why you should watch this?

- GREAT CAST! Song Joong Ki is amazing, he's perfect for this role thanks to his angel baby face and his glacial stare. There is also Lee Kwang Soo! It was my first time to see Park Shi Yeon and Moon Chae Won and they were great too.

- GREAT STORY! Tha plot it's the classic one of a revenge drama. You can find all the classics included amesia!

- MUSIC! The OST it's not one of my favorite but it's ok for the story and it matches!

- UNEXPECTED! You can't get bored by one episode and when you finish one you want to go on even if it's 4am and the day after you have to get up at 7am!

It's really a good drama!
And if what I've written it's no enough, well the view of Song Joonk Ki's arms worths all the episodes!

This Drama goes on my Top list of Overall B.E.S.T Dramas of 2012.
Everything was phenomenal. I want to start off with the pace of the Drama. The pace was PERFECT. No words can describe how well the pace of the Drama went. Storyline didn't drag, characters didn't hold unnecessary secrets. When something happens everyone knows it and it doesn't get withheld leaving main characters clueless for like 4 episodes or something ridiculous like that. You know, the typical elements that make K-Dramas drag. Storyline is a solid A+. It may be about revenge, a typical in K-Dramas but in a pool of revenge dramas, this one sticks out. I'd even hold this Drama up on the same level as 'Bad Guy', another masterpiece of revenge in my opinion. The cast couldn't be more exceptional. Everyone really delivered in their roles. Every episode is a anticipation and to top it all off the OST is amazing. I rated re-watch value a 5 only because, yeah It's good enough to watch again but when you watch it once, you already know what's coming, what's going to happen and for me at least, It's difficult to re-watch something I already know the outcome of. I do love to re-watch my favorite scenes though!
