I really hope someone tells me what was so amazing about this drama and enlighten me, cause for me it sucked SO DARN BAD. I usually give scores no lower than 6, cause each drama has something interesting here and there. Despite i hated this drama there were some things i did like though, but those were the least:

1) Good guys are not the victims, they stand up and act FAST. Bad guys are not the typical "Im evil just because I love money, and i want power" but they do have reasons for doing the bad things they do.

2) The actors did a good job, it didn't feel over acted, and they did their roles well.

3) It was not so predictable.

As for bad things I have many many things i disliked:

1) I dont like dramas where the ending leaves you with a feeling of "and what actually happened?" or "and...?" this drama had em both. And it was too cliche as well.

2) Flashbacks of things you saw just 5 minutes ago making it boring and monotonous.

3) Music was repetitive and not amusing at all not helping with the mood of the drama.

4) Slow , slow and really slow. The best part was ending which left you wishing to see the what was going to happen next, and when next episode started they again turned things slow.

5) Not realistic at all. Which in a way its ok, since you know its a drama but in another way one likes to think it could be possible.

6) The plot lacked twists, you thought something would happen, and it didn't particularly happened that way (which was one of the things i liked) But they were not dramatic enough, making me lose interest quickly after.

7) Characters were weak, actors were good for their roles, but i think a good drama always need an explosive character that sets things into motion, they were all too passive.

8) No suspense and no thrill, the plot was very passive all the time, which contributed to the whole drama being turtle slow.

9) Romance scenes and love triangle were too predictable and cliche (i guess all dramas have this, doesn't mean i like it)

10) All characters were sick, miserable and had sad stories... I get its a melodrama, but even supporting roles had to be sad and miserable? ...

In other words, this drama , to my understanding and very personal opinion is OVERRATED. But! I learned a valuable lesson with this drama though... Never trust women and never ever watch melodramas AGAIN.

I know people are going to rate this review as 'unhelpful' purely cos i didnt like it as much as I thought it would and the MCW and SJK fans are gonna shoot me! but drama wise it did nothing for me!
I had thought that this drama would become one of my favourites but unfortunately it did nothing for me.
I had mainly wanted to watch this for Joong Ki, Chae Won an Kwang Soo, and indeed their acting and purpose of the drama I was satisfied with but there were many a places and the plotline of the drama in general that I wasn't satisfied with, but it had SOOO much potential!!

This is one of the worst melodramas I have watched because it feels like everything that happened didnt really have a purpose or if it did then it wasnt carried out very well, for certain story lines we got the build up and a terrible climax or we didnt get a build up and things just happened and we were some how expected to just understand where the character was coming from, but I couldnt.

Joong Ki and Chae Won's acting skills were great, how they were about to carry their emotions across so well, Kwang soo too, even though he didn't appear in a large proportion of scenes but each time he did his character was the one who gave the words of wisdom and helped the characters hold themselves together, so he was important in that sense, without him I dont think the drama would have worked.

The main problem I found was the plotline, to be everything was so brief, we only grazed over the past of everyone without enough depth and not allowing enough time for it to sink in and let me feel for the character properly before something else happened (it would have been much better if the events actually had a purpose too, and not just dramatic events lined up together).

I was so bored of this drama until the major plot line change near half way through the series, all the previous episodes just didnt suck me in, I wasnt interested in the revenge because there wasnt much 'revenge' to go off from. Most of it was predictable and for the first 8 episodes I was literally watching just for the mysteries behind the main leads characters and Kwang Soo. Then the plot twisted halfway through with new obstacles to face, but it was as if the obstacles before that didn't seem to matter as much before and even to the end there were still problems that were overlooked after having such a dramatic build up or sudden event that happened; as if they were rushing to finish it...

This drama didnt make me cry, it didnt make me shiver or tingle in response to the storyline, I probably had the most fun watching Kwang Soo act more so that the other supporting roles!

The OST was average, I didnt hear it most of the time to be honest, it was always kinda in the background so i knew it was there but it didnt captivate me to want to listen to the songs more.

Now that ive watched it just to see what would happen in the end, i'm still a bit confused at the ending, and I most likely won't even consider rewatching this. (The rewatch value ive put is literally just for the 2 main leads and Kwang soo).

I'm glad that for, what seems like the rest of the population that it was received so well for the main leads, that they gained more recognition for it and their acting skills but I was just rather disappointed with the story.

I loved this drama !!
and its not easy for me to fall for a melodrama, they are just not my type & by the time this drama started airing it was really long time since the last time I saw a melodrama, but I have to say : it was a wonderful piece !!
the story, the characters & the dialogs they were very well written, there where no one who is weak or idiot, they knew what they where doing & the consequences yet they went for it, its a show that teach how to act by your instincts.
I'm not a fan of Moon Chea Won & to say the truth I was kind of disappointed that she was the heroin, I just have this feeling that she is faking it all that came with all her dramas that I've watched ( Shining Inheritance , Princess Man ) but man she rocked the drama! & was my favorite character & the only female lead that I totally fall in love with from the start to the end, the way she spoke , the way she looked , her tears it really took Soe Eun Ki character to another level.
Song Joong Ki, I watched the drama because of him even though I didn't have high expectation about him, but I just love him(Who doesn't?)but he did surprise me & made Kang Maro one of the most complicated yet clear character I've seen, it was amazing how he never make you on his side or against him, you love Song Joong Ki but Kang Maro is a different case where you cant love or hate & that was the best part of the drama, how lovable , adorable Joong Ki actually turned Kang Maro to character that you can actually get angry too & hate.
it was a great great great great drama until the last 10 min of the ending, I think the writer was really influenced by the watchers comments that it kind of ruined the rhythm of the drama !!

Okay, I just finished watching this drama and I must say the reviews on this drama is what it is.
Story- the story itself is typical korean stuff so I just gave it a 9 what the drama has is its characters.
Actors- seriously, I didn't know that joong ki is that good of an actor,he has a poker face yet you can see the emotions in his eyes,he's awesome in this drama. You have to guess whether what he's saying is true or not, that's what have me watching this drama non-stop. Moon also is to watch for in here, right now I'm still not finished with the princess man, I like her character here more, fierce, when the accident happened, I was like Woah!!she's tough, she changed lanes and without blinking accelerated.
Music- Well, since the drama itself is mesmerizing I can forgive the mediocrity of the music, honestly I don't like the music in here.No offense meant.

So now, on with the drama!!Enjoy^^

What can I say, I think this is one of the great dramas of this year. I marathoned it for two days as I just could not stop watching.
This is a melodrama which has great depth. All the characters are brilliantly potrayed and played. The actors have delivered excellently as you love the main leads and hate all the characters to be hated.
The writing and direction is brilliant, the dialogues so intense they give you shivers at times and butterflies at others. There are times you are frustrated at the hero for being so helpless in his love, and times when the romance is so touching you get a lump in your throat, and times when you burn with hatred at the vamp, how low and disgusting you can get to attain your obsession.(sometimes it got too much and I would just ff her scenes, i cant stand too much heartburn)
The stories about the side characters was really good and well played. They provided the needed lightness to the otherwise heavy drama.
The songs are really well suited to scenes, and very touching. the background music is also really wonderful.
Now why I gave it a 9 instead of a 10: the ending was a bit rushed, I would have preferred if they had reduced some of the flash backs and given more time to the story at the end of the drama. Although all resolved, there were many questions how things were resolved. It was a happy ending (thank god, I would not have had it any other way) although lots of melo lovers would have loved a tragic one.

...because there is never a good enough excuse for using amnesia more than once...

This is by far one of the worst dramas I have ever seen. Not because the plot is average but because the execution is laughable.

So who doesn't like a good Kdrama with some drama and a twist, but when every episode is nothing but drama and plot twists, you kind of lose the thread. You know... that red thread that keeps everything together? I'm still looking for it in this drama... it's not there!!

There were so many things that didn't make sense to me and I feel like the writers had no clue what direction they wanted the show to take so they just did EVERYTHING. If a decision was made, they would change it a few minutes later just to change it back again and then lastly go with the second thing after all. So much back and forth for no reason. so many twists on twists I thought I was going insane.

I should have dropped it on the first episode. You can really see how bad it is when they add completely useless scenes that have absolutely nothing to do with anything, without any dialogue or mood set.

There was no character development or growth, what so ever and I was always surprised by the new things they added to the show, when convenient, that would disappear just as fast or would turn out to be a big part of the story. Which is crazy cause they never left any clues or anything.

I have one good comment about this show: Nice soundtrack!

I have one question about this show (actually, I have a million questions but..) : How much of the budget went from writing to bottle tears?

and lastly.... This is impossible to binge so don't even try

ENJOY!!!

Watched again (saw in 2014) after watching DOTS. It kept coming up after every completed episode on VIki so I said -- why not. The intensity of this drama and the level of misunderstandings that can cause heartbreak can only be measured by the tears you shed watching. Love that both female leads are flawed to the core and the male leads are "macho" protectionist of these flawed women. Although the title is "Innocent" I find that a misnomer as the drama progresses. Each episode is addictive so you will watch and watch praying for positive outcomes in negative situations. What is most fascinating is how the drama ending. I found it to be a good ending --- for a K drama it is a very good ending comparatively. The actors are all good and the music is not overwhelming but drives the intensity and moods of each scene. Good drama.

This is the BEST drama i have ever seen.
It's not like the ordinary girl meets guy drama that we have A LOT nowadays. This is MUCH more!
What i love the most about this drama is how it's so realistic!
The fusion of the acting and the OST's and story is just a heart breaker, and makes every episode a tear-jerker.
i don't know any other way to describe the drama. YOU HAVE TO SEE IT YOURSELF.
at first i hesitated to watch 'the innocent man' because i don't normally like melodramas but out of no reason i started the first few episodes and i got hooked right away.
i regret watching 'the innocent man'. :') because it was SOOO painful when it ended. felt like a part of my heart was torn apart.

I guess if I were to chose one word to describes the drama it would be: unique. Unique because there is never a dull moment, there is no part in the drama where I feel the need to skip parts, and this drama has the ability to connect with the viewers and make them feel sympathy and empathy with the characters.

The story line for the drama is something that I have never come across before. Sure, some people might think that its a typical revenge type of drama however, it isn't. There is something that is different about this drama that draws the viewers. Maybe because the actors and actresses are good? Or maybe because the people who wrote this drama were creative? Who knows all I know is that there is something original in this drama that I have never seen in other dramas before and it isn't a typical predictable story because honestly I can't even predict how this drama will end.

The acting and cast are so far the best. I am actually surprised because for once I didn't choose the drama based on the actors and actresses, I just chose it based on the summary. The cast is amazing, one because they can act well to the point where I feel as though I am experiencing all the drama from their point of view and two because they have a unique charm (in simpler terms: they are good looking xD).

The music is different from others. The sound of it gives the viewers a sense of what this drama is about bring to you. The opening music is luring its viewers, it points out that there is something that is different from the usual dramas.

For the re-watch value I would give a 10 because this drama overall is a suspenseful show. It keeps the viewers on the edge of their seats, wondering what is going to happen next because this drama isn't predictable they throw curve balls at you in every corner and this is something that hardly happens in the dramas that I have watched so far. Hopefully, the overall rating will remain a 10 until the end. Only 8 more episodes to go!~

well this show was all kinds of fast i think. when u think u got it something happens. the pace was good and they didnt drag too much on stuff they kept jumping years thus moved on which i liked. my favorite has got to be choco and jae gil. this two were just so funny i learnt new words and phrases KOL. jae gil is just a giant giraffe mess with alot of feelings and conceit, i cant believe he said he was too handsome he should be arrested. kang ma roo is still have some slight feelings about his role but he did a good job, he was too nice esp at the beginning which i didnt like. it was interesting too coz u just dont know what will happen so u wanna keep going. one of the few dramas where the ending is satisfactory and u dont have alot of questions.

It's so unrealistic and too forced. It starts off really well with an unexpected plot twist, however, the rest of it feels unnatural. They just kept dragging the story on and on , and even the following 'plot twists' weren't that much of plot twists. I personally found it extremely annoying and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for something interesting, fresh and new. This drama is ALL the cliché scenes , overused scenarios and predictable twists in one show.
That aside , the cast is GREAT. Even though the characters they played are irritating, they did an amazing job conveying their emotions and feelings.
Overall , I really didn't enjoy this drama , but rather, I kept wishing for it to end or at least for something interesting to happen and I was highly disappointed.
If you're really new to dramas you might enjoy this, if not It's better not to watch this.

hey so I just finished this about a day ago and I want to say wow. Firstly the immense character growth Joongki showed in Maaroo's character was amazing.
He started of as brilliant loving happy guy who makes a sacrifice so big for the girl he loves and has always protected. I feel Maroo has a complex of sorts he has this need to protect women he loves. Even if it means sacrificing everything he has and his life. He throws his career and even caring for his sick sister all for the girl he loves and goes to jail for 5 years next he comes back and will not hear one negative thing about her despite knowing that she is the mistress of some old looser. Eeu gee just wants someone to love her. she is tough as a rock on the outside and Maroo is incredibly manipulative into getting into her life. Though that what most people think Maroo is being manipulative I feel he was a desperate man doing anything he could to hate Jae hee the way he was suppose to. But he could not he was far to kind but when her lies got too be too much he changed and realized that if someone loved you they would not choose money over you and with Eeun gee, who gave up her world for him it was easy. to understand who to love and who not to love. Eeun gee on the other hand has never been poor but to her love means everything while money means nothing Jae hee is her opposite she knows the power she holds over the men in her life and uses it to her advantage. Joong ki is so hand some and after DOS he was officially my oppa but omg. I want him to be my doctor, fiance innocent man. The writer who wrote this show is rather clever. they made the characters believable rather than what shows usually do in order to make the main characters whitened shine the brightest by making the others darker they gave everyone equally grey shaded characters. If you watched previous dramas and movies with Joong ki you know his acting is so good so whats stopping you attack this show is
amazing. you will spend 20 hours without skipping a minute of it
