hey so I just finished this about a day ago and I want to say wow. Firstly the immense character growth Joongki showed in Maaroo's character was amazing.
He started of as brilliant loving happy guy who makes a sacrifice so big for the girl he loves and has always protected. I feel Maroo has a complex of sorts he has this need to protect women he loves. Even if it means sacrificing everything he has and his life. He throws his career and even caring for his sick sister all for the girl he loves and goes to jail for 5 years next he comes back and will not hear one negative thing about her despite knowing that she is the mistress of some old looser. Eeu gee just wants someone to love her. she is tough as a rock on the outside and Maroo is incredibly manipulative into getting into her life. Though that what most people think Maroo is being manipulative I feel he was a desperate man doing anything he could to hate Jae hee the way he was suppose to. But he could not he was far to kind but when her lies got too be too much he changed and realized that if someone loved you they would not choose money over you and with Eeun gee, who gave up her world for him it was easy. to understand who to love and who not to love. Eeun gee on the other hand has never been poor but to her love means everything while money means nothing Jae hee is her opposite she knows the power she holds over the men in her life and uses it to her advantage. Joong ki is so hand some and after DOS he was officially my oppa but omg. I want him to be my doctor, fiance innocent man. The writer who wrote this show is rather clever. they made the characters believable rather than what shows usually do in order to make the main characters whitened shine the brightest by making the others darker they gave everyone equally grey shaded characters. If you watched previous dramas and movies with Joong ki you know his acting is so good so whats stopping you attack this show is
amazing. you will spend 20 hours without skipping a minute of it

a very touching melodrama on how bad a revenge can get. Park Shi Yeon has showed some excellent acting skills as a villain to the point where you actually start hating her character Jaehee. and then we have our feathers on the hat, Song Joong Ki and Moon Chae won who are exceptional actors and displayed one of the strongest characters.
the story revolves around love and vengeance. Kang Maru and Seo Eungi wrong and be wronged while Jaehee is probably one of the most pitiable yet evil vamp in k-drama history. do watch

Love in the hands of writers

Poor MaRo was treated badly. This brave boy sought revenge for his arbitrarily destroyed life.
In the end, the evil was done, a mild punishment was meted out to the main criminals, but the most destructive of all was the attractive MaRo himself.

That the love of the main characters ends tragically was known since EunGi, whom MaRo loved, had sexual intercourse with the dubious lawyer Park. This consistently and irreparably destroyed the whole love story. Why, was there no other option for their difficult love that cost us a lot of nerves and hopes?

In the end, we are left with a bunch of loose ends, a presumably dead MaRo, EunGi who might be with one of her cheaters. Yes one could make free-floating guesses. Very unsatisfying, downright annoying the whole thing.

There was a consolation for us sensitive souls in a quasi-separate final chapter. In an obviously fictional story, the lovers found themselves in a kind of modern-day Xanadu. A village by the sea, bathed in pastel colors, it was the place of their longing.
MaRo, who had lost his memory, and EunGi seemed strangely empty. His voiceover described that he would find EunGi again in his next life and live his happiness with her.

Everyone should think what they want, the writers probably think. Don't get angry friends, and peace on earth!

Unmatched title, crappy story, trashy ML

Firstly the title should have put it as “The innocent women”, because only in first episode (the first episode itself is a trash, he was ready to sacrifice his one and only sister for his loved ones) the ML is portrayed as innocent but in all the remaining episodes he is a big trash. I like FL and her excellent acting skills, irrespective of his number of betrayals she loved him soo deeply and unconditionally yet he is monkey minded(he couldn’t forget his ex and couldn’t free the FL from him) and hurt her the most. He didn’t deserved her love.
According to me, the director tried to the story in a unpredictable fashion but he has killed the drama making ML a trash. Initially he tried to make this a different show but he has lost his grip in the story, there is no strong connectivity in the scenes but he is successful only in giving baseless sentimental punch.
Even though his ex betrayed him numerous times and he clearly knew she is not trustworthy yet he always given first preference to her.

Watch this If you ironically miss the old MAKJANG drama

Just think of any trope that reminds you of the 2010s K-drama scene and Innocent Man is the perfect delivery of that. The storyline is satisfying enough to give you senses of heartbreak, sweetness and contentment. Song Joongki is brilliant as usual and Moon Chaewon is the star - I was really impressed of how well she conveyed the FL's bold character to the point of that I got scared of her.

Watching this makes me realise I miss the old k-dramas. Everything about it was very nostalgic. Again, regardless this is not a perfect drama, I would watch it again for that bittersweet and adrenaline rush.

fckin brilliant

a really fantastic drama all-around. i have seen the second FL in My Girl (2005) and i am so glad i was able to watch a more well-rounded performance by her in this drama. she's absolutely amazing, well all the three leads are including Moon Chae Won and Song Joong Ki. this is a really stellar drama with stellar casts and brilliant writings, i enjoyed it so much and it reminds me of how much i enjoy watching good k-dramas. this drama really tempted me to dig into the older k-dramas that have similar mellow and tragic temperaments. it's so heartbreaking but so fckin good :(

Now, onto the fairly confusing final episode,

"Felt the ending was rushed.... Not sure what happened in those missing 7 years... Why did the criminals got away with so little punishment.. Why Ma Roo had to suffer and care for everyone... I am just happy he was able to get his love back... Good to see him being a doctor, the dream he had as a boy..

This is my interpretation of the last episode -
I think after the knife stabbing incident and his subsequent surgery,he might have left for US after 1-2 years of recovery. He had his skills but had lost his memory. After he returns,he starts practicing as a doctor and Eun Gi sets up a shop next to his clinic. She is always watching him and chasing him.. She seems familiar to him and he likes her being around... He might have found those rings in his closet laying around and felt an urge to give it her to express his feelings.... I think He develops fresh feelings for Eun hee and not because of his memories. While Eun Hee knows the past she just wants him to fall in love with her again.....

I still feel, they should have shown more as to what happened when he falls on the road... Who saves him and how he recovers.Did he really lost and found his memories or he just falls in love again without past baggage.I think the company is now being run by some professionals and Eun Hee is happy chasing Ma Roo around."

THANK GOD I CAME ACROSS THIS COMMENT, MY SLOW BRAIN WOULDN'T EASILY CONNECT THE DOTS OTHERWISE, SIGHH.

When Ma Roo collapsed from the stab wound in the middle of the street with no passing pedestrians, i thought he was gonna die LOL. I'm surprised they actually gave us a happy ending, no wonder in the opening footage of Ma Roo (in every episode), this was the only one where he actually smiled instead of cried. I really thought i saw it wrong.

I loved this drama so much, i actually thought the ending was appropriate though unexpected and that he finally was able to become a doctor at the end, i actually thought it was all in Eun Gi's dream. Wished they didn't jump 7 years into the future because some things were left unexplained.

However just like Hello Monster i don't take off points from the ending because i really have enjoyed every second of this.

AN OUTSTANDING DRAMA. SONG JOONG KI. SONG FCKIN JOONG KI. GOSH. I'M HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE WITH YOUR ACTING WTF. YOU'RE INSANELY GOOD!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

P/s I wished they have a better poster for this. I almost pass this drama completely because to me the poster sucks LOL.

Well I just finished this series and can't stop myself not to write a review! At first I watched it just because I saw that the main character'role is being played by Song joong ki (yeah...I'm a big fan of him) and about the series.... Ahhhh I'm still confused and I don't know about my feelings but about The story... The story of drama was really great....for me it was something special. It had so Many points and parallels, I liked the story really much ! Each down and high of the story was perfect the Idea of that was really wise and the author seems to be a genius one in writing melodrama!....about the acting, it was definitely great! Specially Song Joong Ki's play was literally masterpiece!! Moon chae won and Park she yeon were great too! the only person that I didn't like her acting was the one who played for MaRoo's sister, I couldn't understand her play and I mean I wasn't satisfied with her act! But others did their best and I loved them!!! ..... About The ending...well people usually ask about the ending if it's happy or sad but the fact is that it's neither sad nor happy!! It just drowns you in an ocean of emotions and confusion! It can be kinda open ended about what you think has happend to Ma Roo after his operation but I reassure you that Maroo and Eun gi become a couple (and of course wife and husband in the future!)....but this ending is not what I can consider it as something happy! Since before the ending a pile of problems and circumstances happens and immediately you get to underestand them and see the consequences and all of them lead you to experience tension and finally, in the end, when you want to see the ending's happiness, when you think everything is over and now you will get to see the good scenes that you have prepared yourself for it, suddenly it skips the time and shows you some years later with an unexpected atmosphere! And after finishing remains you shocked and you say"omg what was this?" "What just happend?"! And you know, The ending doesn't hurt you, but maybe doesn't satisfy you!(actually I myself wasn't satisfy with that) I mean probably the author wanted to give it a different ending from other dramas but in my opinion the author wasn't successful about this point! But altogether I can say that at least they didn't give us a bad or sad ending! Yeah! And I believe it surely values watching once bc it gives you sth completely distinguished from other dramas and makes you to think and try to feel so many feelings but about rewatching...well it actually depends on the person! I myself probably never can rewatch it again bc im not those kinds of persons who  used to watch such melodramas, but watching at least once is essential! ..... I said all of the good points about the drama but just one issue about the drama was really weak in my opinion, and it was the Characterizations of persons! Ma Roo was a kind, smart and a complete devoted person for his love, a true lover! But no one could understand it, no one could value him, no one could behave fairly towards him and it really bothered me:( and again I wanna say that SJK was a perfect actor during the series!!! I just can't believe how much an actor can be such amazing! And about characters: Han Jae hee: didn't like her at all, from the very beginning showed her betrayal until the very end! And about So Eun Gi: I liked her in the first episodes but after ep8 and specially after her memories back, she wasn't understandable and I didn't like her anymore ... MaRoo did what ever he could for her , while he was in the worst condition, helped Eun gi to become treated but she seeked for the revenge! What a poison is this?? Yeah I just had problem with the characterizations of some characters but in the end, I wanna say, if you want to watch sth different, see the power of hatred and love , see the effects of revenge and excessive sacrifice, give it a try!

If you want to be depressed and confused, watch this

CHARACTERS
Seo Eun Ki was quite interesting at first, because she was so different from the usual kdrama FLs, I loved and hated her at the same time - she was strong and clever, but so arrogant, spoiled, had a bad personality and went through episodes of pure agression. Sadly, in the second half, she became rather dull, too swooned by Kang Ma Roo and started to resemble a lobotomy patient.
Kang Ma Roo, to me, is a very depressed character, who can be sweet, if he wants to be. His intentions are a mystery to me. He acts like he cares for the people close to him, but also deliberately hurts them. The love he shows, does he pretend it? That's also what makes this drama so interesting - you are always so unsure. But in the second half, it didn't make sense to me how he could suddenly love Eun Ki, other than pitying her. They were hardly ever sincere. Can there be a love without trust? If manipulation was a love, then there would be many romantic scenes.
Speaking of manipulation, Han Jae hee is a manipulating witch. She only "likes" people when she can use them. She is a character, who is evil, because she wants to be rich, but it's understandable, since she grew up in poverty. She is so self-absorbed. Still, we also get to see her sensitive side and sometimes I even felt bad for her.
Kang Cho Ko was sometimes annoying, but overall she's ok.
Park Jae Gil is like a bright star in all this melodrama. He is the only one who didn't feel toxic to me.
The lawyer felt like a friend to Eun Ki and you cannot convince me, that he loved her (definitely a plot thing).
Eun Ki's father was controlling and mean man. Nevertheless, Eun Ki was so sad when he left, as if he was a loving and supportive parent. Again, I felt like it was done like that solely for the plot.
Overall, the characters were too passive. They were constantly switching between optimistic and pessimistic moods. I needed them to open up more, the neverending lies and them being so ignorant messed up my brain. In the second half, I feel like everyone went insane, being driven just by the desire to meet the ends they want. What I hated the most was how the characters feelings nonsensicaly changed just for the plot.

THE PLOT
It had so much more potential. It has strong premise but its like a tree with shallow roots. The story is so flat: ____. The revenge aspect was very weak, KMR didn't even have any clear plan, he was just waiting for opportunities.
In the first few episodes the story was thought out, but with increasing episodes it started to feel like the writers didn't know how to continue.
There's really a lot of nonsense. In a light hearted drama, it wouldn't bother me as much, but in these serious ones it really does.
There are many aranged scenes for plot to move somewhere. Maybe I forgot what happened, but where did Eun Ki's sickness disappear? Ma Roo's sister's sickness also somehow dissapeared. Riding motorcycle is Eun Ki's hobby, but it appeared only once, and how does Kang Ma Roo know how to ride one?
They bring something in the story and never use it again or suddenly add something, that there was no hint of before. They don't delve too deep into things that were hinted on (death of Eun Ki's mother, more about Eun Ki's ex, Kang Ma Roo's reconciliation with the doctor teacher).
The amnesia part... was unexpectable, but such a stupid, tiring cliche. It felt like something to just fill the time. They could have just made it standart 16 episodes drama.
The final ending was very quick, without any prior development, this "happily ever after" was not at all what I expected considering the overall mood of the drama.

SOOO SLOOOW
This drama has major problem with it's pace. There were many flashbacks, long shots of people walking, standing, thinking or staring... Even the recap+intro was sometimes like 5 minutes long.
Kang Ma Roo is always staring with stony blank face (not that it didn't make me feel anything, but there were just so many of these stares).
Finishing the last 4 episodes was a hell and I would have dropped it, but i have a sense of completion. There was nothing I could look forward to, only the end. I found out several characters speak really slowly, in the later episodes I even watched it at 1.5x speed and some lines sounded like a regular speed of speech.

MUSIC
The OST was average, the music became quite depressive overtime. Also, some english songs in korean dramas feel a bit wierd. However, I liked the opening, it was simple but gripping.

MY FEELINGS
I have to say that it this drama is VERY overrated. I might be a minority, but I think it's not worth the time. I genuinely cannot understand, how people can give it a 10. They are either beeing too kind, masochistic or like everybody in the drama, they must be too in love with ML, to see the nonsense.
I had high hopes for this drama, especially because of the ratings. The story it could be was merely a nice dream. I was wainting for the point when it would get so amazing, but that never happened.
This drama did not even make me cry, although it messed up my brain, made me question myself and got me depressed. But I have to give it props, for being one of few dramas to make me so angry.

Wow, the idea of the story was interesting, but the plot development and behaviour of the characters was so illogical. Like really really no good, nonsense, wierd and adsurd most of the time:D I won´t go in details to not spoil it for others (and think about those details ever again). In my opinion they could do much better with given oportunities and promising cast. 9 years ago the screenwriting was probably on a different level...as well as OST. I finished this fast because of Song Joong Ki, he was great. I wish I could give this a better review because of his acting, but it is impossible.

School days of Korean drama

You may find my review headline weird of sort. This isn't a drama about school of any type or grade. However, for me the experience I got from watching this drama was the same I got when I watched School Days the anime.
In fact, I stopped watching dramas for about a month after I finished this one. I skipped a lot toward the end as well and it still get on my nerves to this day. I came to this after I watched the Flower of Evil. Both of them has the same female lead which I liked after watching the Good Doctor. The actress there was so bright and gave me a good and warmth vibe. In Flower of Evil she showed lost of those great feeling. Even in this drama, I don't blame her or her character. I hated the love triangle and how the male lead kept hanging on the other witch. It was hard for me to keep watching while those two kept hanging out. That witch was the worst character I ever saw till this day, and that guy was so annoying to the extent where I skipped his other dramas besides Vincenzo.
I completed this drama with a broken heart not for what happened at end but for the huge amount of corruption of morals I experienced while watching it. It's indeed School Days of Korean Dramas.

Not Good Enough

Korean Drama " The Innocent Man " is a melodrama with a romantic twist.

The main problem, however, of this drama is its characters. They weren't all annoying, but they were idiots or acting like idiots. Nothing of what happened should have happened if they were using their brains, for instance. And they kept acting without thinking and then pretending to be victims.

Other than that, the drama used any cheesy trop that ever existed in dramaland and to the biggest extend possible. And not in an enjoyable way. Therefore, the romance got tiring and unbelievable.

The performances, finally, were pretty good.

So, overall, two out of ten.
