I enjoyed this movie immensely. By the end of it, I was speechless and trying not to cry.
What I loved about the character ,Lee Yong Gu, was his honesty, selflessness, and inability to hate despite being mistreated. Also how he accepts his learning disability and doesn't allow it to stop him from being happy. He just needed his daughter to be well and happy for him to be happy.
Do not underestimate how heartbreaking this movie is. I had to take three breaks from it so I wouldn't cry in public (I have midterms now so the only time I could watch it was during the taxi ride from university to home and vice versa.) However, this movie still has the ability to make you laugh because of the dynamic and hilarious characters Lee Yong Gu meets in prison.
Kal So Won plays the dutiful and smart daughter who loves her father dearly, to the extent she was willingly to go to prison so she could stay with him. I don't really notice child actors/ actresses but Kal So Won is a very talented individual.
I highly recommend this movie! In fact, I haven't been able to stop talking about it to my friends the past two days.

omg what a film. i;'ve seen this on reccomended list, but i haven't watched it, because of multiple issues, but i am glad i did now. about the film now: i literally cried. it's so emotional and is a roller coster of emotions and it's just wow. you have hope that it's gonna be a happy ending and she us gonna live happy with her father, but it's heartbreaking to see that it doesn't. all the scenes where she cried just made my heart shatter. i recommend the film, but prepare tisues. there is one more thing i want to say: don't let yourself be manipulated and stand up for youself, i love you.Was this review helpful to you?
OMG
I really don't know where to begin with this review. I've never cried so much yet managed to laugh at a movie in my life! This is a complete masterpiece. It definitely deserves such a high rating. The worst part is this is actually something that happens. Police abuse in the system and wrongful accusation is nothing new in any part of the world. It may not make sense now if you haven't seen it, but the ending has left me in a perfect mess and with a lump in my throat as I type this. The appreciation/respect I have for this movie is off the charts but since (like most people) I don't enjoy crying, I admit I will NEVER watch this film again. It might seem like a bad idea, but I promise this movie is worth the feels. I have no shame in saying you're a monster if you don't experience some level of sadness. I hope you all enjoy this film as much as the rest of us...Was this review helpful to you?
Heart warming, sweet & beautiful story
The only regret that I had was I didn't see this movie when it was showed in Singapore back in 2013. It had awesome review and I thought I didn't want to watch and cry because going to cinema is meant for fun. I was putting off to watch for long and today I watched it finally. It didn't fail me. This became one of my all time favorite movies. The storyline is very different from any other movies as wrongly accused father and his daughter tried to meet each other again with the help of his cellmates and friends. You will just flow with this movie and forget about your surrounding. The acting is spot on and the tempo is perfect.
Highly recommend everyone to watch this and you won't regret spending 2hr of your life.

The Fine Line Between Laughter and Tears
In this movie, two aspects stood out as less appealing. Firstly, the transitions between flashbacks and the present storyline were challenging to follow. It felt as though the editing or execution wasn't as seamless as it could have been, making it difficult to fully grasp the timeline at first. Secondly, a key character who tampered with evidence or ignored a critical situation was not held accountable. This lack of justice left a loose end that was hard to overlook.Despite these issues, the film was a blend of humor and deep emotion, successfully tugging at the heartstrings. It made you laugh, cry, and genuinely connect with the characters' journeys. The movie's ability to evoke such a wide range of emotions is a testament to its overall impact, even if certain elements fell short.

The production is fantastic. It doesn't try to go for artsy with interesting angles and shadowing. It just is what it is. There are beautiful cinematic shots of a sunset near the end that is probably augmented by CG. Still, it's quite moving. There were apparently 4 screen writers for this movie, but you wouldn't guess it. It's quite cohesive. Thankfully, it only had 1 director.
Again, the cast, chock full of veteran actors, was brillant. Aside from Ryu and Park, there are many recognizable faces like Oh Dal Soo, Jung Jin Young, and Jung Man Sik. There was also an adorable little little face that held her own up against these actors. That beautiful little face belongs to Kai So Won. She was excellent. She's one helluva talent and I hope she is treated well. I saw her as a pre-teen in A Korean Odyssey and teen in Mr. Zoo: The Missing VIP. I am now definitely a fan.
I can see myself re-watching Miracle in it's entirety and watching my favorite scenes whenever. I may even buy it. The OST was pretty good. Admittedly, I wondered a few times why they were playing the songs they were playing during the scenes in which they were played, but they were good songs. It warms your heart and soul. If you were holding back while Park Shin Hye does her tears thing (does she cry in everything? hmm), you might crack like I did during the very last scene as she looks up at a beautiful blue sky with tears in her eyes. Heart...BROKEN! It was so poignant. Overall, this is a wonderful movie but not meant for children.

tragic fairy-tale
It totally IS a fairy-tale, since the pieces of puzzle put together are utterly unrealistic... BUT if supposedly it ever once HAPPENED so - or it might ever happen, the outcome is marvelous. There is this retarded father who falls victim to a cruel society, the compassionate guardian who hasnt always been like this, the cellmates who are more humane than the people outside, and - of course - the brilliant daughter played by an impressive CHILD ACTOR... Just these and it's enough to have a unique movie, brilliantly played by everyone, from main actors to supporting cast. What we can see here is not just a moving story, but also a top product of the drama-school of Korea. You know, when it's too good to be true...

Great family movie
This is a great movie that shows the love a parent has for their child, and the love a child has for their parent. The acting from all parties is super! The story is entertaining and VERY ! emotional. Parts of the story make the viewer laugh out loud, parts will make the viewer mad, and then there are the parts that the viewer will want to make sure that they have a box of tissues handy. The story transcends all barriers as anyone who is a parent can relate to the father of the story and people can relate to the love the child has for their father. Great family movie! Loved it.Was this review helpful to you?
Such a hard movie to watch, but such a good movie
I did not expect to be moved by the story so severely. I sobbed during the final scene with the father, because I was that moved. The amount of anger I felt on behalf of the father was intense. In the end, the words I've heard my husband say many times flitted through my head, "I'd rather see 20 guilty people go free than 1 innocent person incarcerated." It never weighed so heavily on my mind. Guys, this isn't like Juror #7. This movie is a tragedy. But the story sticks with you. Watch it, but be ready to be angry, sad, appalled, devastated, and left with a bitter sweet ending. Was this review helpful to you?

it’s a masterpiece not a regular movie
No matter how many times a person rewatches this masterpiece they will cry, I watched it a million times and I still cry, the feelings and the actors who made this even more beautiful, words can never explain the how beautiful this masterpiece is. I felt many feelings not only laughed and cried. The actors are good, they portrayed the characters so well, the story was also good, but what annoyed me the most was the police, they didn’t even bother to investigate, like Yong yu already seemed to have an illness. I will definitely rewatch this movie, or should I call it a masterpieceWas this review helpful to you?
