I knew about Ryu Seung Ryong and how famous he was, but I had never seen him in work. After this movie, I won't miss a single one of his works. I'm mind blown by how he played the role of Yong Goo. The same goes for the child actress, Kal So Won.
I would like to point out how deeply I loved the cellmates. Like you guys don't even know how much I love them. The way their characters developed was crazy. Their loyalty came out and out shadowed every little flaw they had in the past.
Miracle in Cell No.7, a movie you can't miss out on! (My eyes are still so sore from all the bawling ;;)

It moves you in a way unimaginable. I laughed throughout the movie as it warmed my heart (especially with one of the cutest child actresses). And the transformation of all the characters is one that adds onto this masterpiece. Most importantly, this is the most I have ever cried for a movie in a long time! I was at the verge of sobbing and losing control.
My rewatch value is lower only because crying this much gave me a headache! And I wouldn't want to give myself another headache. It is a movie I will go back to when I want a good cry.
The acting was superb from everyone of all ages. The storyline warms your heart. And the movie as a whole leaves you feeling at peace. Absolutely wonderful.

This movie was so heart touchingly cute and the child actor, Kal so Won which played Yesung deserves an award! I've seen soooo many child actors and she is just brilliant. She portrayed the character of Yesung brilliantly at such a young age. Ryu Seung Ryong. Sigh, what can I say he is honestly one of THE best actors I've ever seen. I mean I saw him in Personal Taste and its simply amazing at how he can adapt to any role given to him. Honestly I'm so speechless. And even though Park Shin Hye's roll wasn't the biggest she still portrayed the character with passion and made it seem like she was an upset girl fighting for her father's innocence. Lastly, the prison mates and the police and chiefs. My oh my were they amazing. They were funny and even though all the characters were all different they just clicked perfectly.
Oh god and what can I say about the music. WHHYYYY TT^TT the music pushed me over to the limit wear I was crying Niagara falls. It complimented the scene and did not overpower it.
Overall THIS MOVIE IS FCKING BRILLIANT I TOTALLY RECOMMEND WATCHING IT!!!!!!!! KYAAAAAAAAAH >< SUFHKJAHSDKH *Apologies for my fangirling here :P*

Story Line: The movie's story was unique but was successful to make me tear up every now and then. Although the plot may sound a bit boring (honestly at first i did not really want to watch it) however it was EVERYTHING BUT BORING.
Acting/ Cast: The perfect cast there is to offer, each actor/actress played their roles superbly. However i did not like the guard as they seemed to be a bit fake but it is most likely to add more humor to the movie.
Music: When there was music it accompanied the story very well. It made it more emotional.
Like:
- Cute and funny
- A very heart moving movie
Dislike:
- nothing it was done perfectly!

the little girl is hands down bow down. i love kid actors esp if its a serious movie/show coz they are legit amazing. she needs to get an award (well she did) PSH did a good job as the future yesung but all credit and airtime goes to the little girl
the dad omg, he was mental for real but its the sincerety of him as an actor that made him perfect. anyone can play mental but its the perception that draws you in and i loved it. i cant believe he was the same guy from personal taste who played the gay director.
the other prisoners in his cell were all tog perfect and complimented each other. the director and guards were awsome side characters and they all worked well in harmony.
how can the show make u laugh out loud and cry out loud at the same time, i cried as much as i laughed and i learned too about relationship. i wish for such a thing and i hope i would have the same with my child.
i know it wasnt all that perfect coz some things like the commisioners whereabouts after the last hearing and yesungs life after werent addressed but it was aiiight we loved the whole show anyways. this has got to be my longest review, well i just finished watching and my eyes were still tearing so im writing my feelings at the moment.
THIS IS A MUST SEE MOVIE

Love, in its purest form - can create Miracles ❤️
What is a miracle? One of the answers could be: finding love that is selfless and pure, especially in today's world. Which is why movies like this make such a deep impression on you & tugs at your heartstrings!Story-wise: An intellectually-challenged man & his daughter live happily in their own world. However, their lives are disrupted when the father is wrongly accused of a heinous crime & sent to prison. Fellow prisoners & the warden mistreat him, given the gravity of his crimes - but over time, they realize their mistake & conclude that the man is framed. To make amends - they try to unite him with his daughter within the prison cell and in doing so - experience a Miracle that will last them all a lifetime! ❤️
Within this straightforward narrative lies a tapestry of powerful emotions:
• Anger/Frustration: when you witness the injustice.
• Happiness: when you see the love between - father/daughter, fellow prisoners, warden and officers
• Sadness: when you realize that there are somethings beyond you & you give in
• Hope: when you know even when everything seems lost and at the end, that is when miracles happen! ❤️
I know the focus was the above, but I wish they had shown the wrong-doers getting punished & accepting their mistakes in front of the main leads.
Overall: Highly recommend this to ALL. I myself held off watching it since long as I knew it would be a tear-jerker. Late to watch it, but glad that I did not miss this gem - one of the greatest film experience of our times, that has become a classic. In case you have not seen it yet - don't wait, keep a tissue box handy & watch the miracle unfold! ❤️

That's why I'll try to make it shortly. The story is very good. Maybe sometimes even naive - to bring a small girl into the gail in a ban box! - and toooo cute . But! The plot here is intentionally exaggerated and does not pretend to seem 'real' (air ballon scene is very representative). The main things are, of course, the human relationship, which can help an outcast to survive in such a hell and and parents' love, which sometimes can drive they mad.
What i really appreciated was acting. It made this story sincere and touching. The atmosphere of 90s was depicted quite well ( 'Sailor Moon' theme is a such story was very very funny and, moreover, symbolistic - ' I bring justice' )
So, ladies and gentlemen, I dare say you'll be satisfied:)

First of all you think this is a sweet movie (unless you haven't heard from everyone how sad it actually is and how much they cried), because the daughter is so adorable and her father is soo goofy it's really sweet.
But then when the father is taken away from her, because he has to go to jail, you're already about to tear up... or at least me.
I can't describe how much i loved this movie, because it was so funny and sweet, but at the same time so heartbreaking.
I loved every character from the adorable little daughter over the people from cell no. 7 to the jail gurad and the chief (with little exeptions... you know who).
The story is told really great and it leaves you wondering about a few things like unfair treatment and false accusation (which leads to unfair treatment of course).
In the end i cried so much, i really coudn't breathe. It was the first time i cried so much since hachiko i think..
And if you haven't seen it you should obviously watch it, because of it greatness. But beware: Bring at least 2 boxes of tissues with you.

This review may contain spoilers
So here goes another review, and only because some of my fellow drama lovers may have had this on their to plan watch list for months(like me) and just never got that push to click START. Indeed, with all the great reviews just another one to arouse your curiousity maybe to actually watch this.Watching dramas for years now, it was rare to find ones that made me laugh and cry literally at the same time like this movie did and it's not even a drama, usually dramas take time for the development of the characters soooo we literally love them to death and cry and laugh along with them by the end. This is a movie so it won't last weeks or months like when we start a drama.
No spoilers you can read the synopsis, but I must say Kal So Won who is the child actress in the movie was the true gem of this movie. I have never been more mesmerized and captivated by such talent. Nothing taken away from the other cast members, they were just as brilliant and they couldn't have picked better actors for any of the supporting roles. This a gem of a movie and a must see for any korean/asian drama/movie lover or at least you must have it on your list if you are a true fan :) regardless if you agree with my review or not.

A comedic heart-warmer
So "comedic heart-warmer/tearjerker" might sound like an oxymoron but that's exactly what this was — there were really funny and silly moments, but they were followed by just heart-warming and adorable scenes between the father and daughter. Those were undoubtedly the best out of the entire movie, and I also loved how the side characters were also given personality. They all felt like one big happy family. This drama reminded me a lot of Prison Playbook (not the parent dynamic but the cellmates dynamic) and it just made me feel really cozy and at home.
The only thing that I didn't love was the "future" scenes — it was a little predictable and though I've got nothing against Park Shin Hye, I felt like she just didn't feel right; I didn't buy into her character.

Here's what I didn't like about the story. Yong Goo's story feels totally unrealistic at times, such that sometimes I thought "really?!", when the ones who are supposed to enforce and uphold justice don't seem to give a damn about the injustice of his case. At times it felt that the writer was trying to wring your heart of as many tears as possible.
What an excellent cast. So what if the only name you recognized was Park Shin Hye? In fact, she doesn't even play the most important part of this movie. Kal So Won is a child star in the making - at times she is strong and cheerful, other times she breaks your heart with her love for her father.
Ryu Seung Ryong makes a departure from playing the gruff, stoic characters, to take on a challenging role - like . Not only did he manage not to be a parody of a mentally retarded man, he infused lots of heart and love into the character.
Imagine throwing together a bunch of actors usually cast as villains, but put them in a comedy. Yong Goo's cellmates are just that. You probably recognize them from other shows as villains. In this movie, they play hardened prison birds, who are initially dumbfounded by Yong Goo and try to subordinate him to the internal prison hierarchy, but are eventually won over by his innocence, sincerity and fatherly love. They bring the most laughs to this movie.
This movie has no deep message to preach, or lesson to teach, but gives lots of entertainment value by delivering many laughs and cries.
