Would have been good if not for the serious lack of communication between the leads.

I don't much like Han Che at certain times, not because of his peculiarities, that in itself I did not mind. That made him an interesting character but he often threw tantrums without even trying to talk to Nuan Nuan about it. He found out that Fang Han Chen confessed his feelings for Nuan, so he ghosted her for a while, even though Nuan clearly said that she said no to the guy. Later, the incident with the cufflinks, she had a bad day at work, so while we all understand what needs to be done logically, she just wanted some comfort, instead he just made things worse for her.

The drama lacked conflict resolution, things were often glossed over. The entire concept was so flawed, it reminds me of the show "Well-Intended Love" in which the ML was a crackpot.

In "My Love, Enlighten Me", the ML was overbearing and made decisions that were not really good for others. The FL while fun to watch, wasn't really all there. The entire setting lacked the intensity required for the script and concept. They could have focused more on the emotions to make this drama more memorable.

The second couple were also so flawed. They again refused to directly communicate and resorted to tactics like using another person to make the person you like jealous. Too childish for me, so skipped most of their scenes.

That's not to say the entire thing wasn't worth watching. The leads had some chemistry and the FL was charming enough to stay on.

FL is best girl, ML annoying

The one thing that saved the drama and the plot was the FL growth and development in her career, her pursuit in the fashion industry (including all the shitty setbacks and hardships) and eventually coming out successful after many, many trials and tribulations. That's what kept me going, ML was a big piss off for most of the drama imo constantly stirring up misunderstanding in his head without seeking clarification. Ofc this is expected in any drama, and the FL also has her share of dumb misunderstanding too, but the ML petty and passive aggressive behaviour directed at FL when he decides to write a story in his head is baffling and gross.

SPOILERS BELOW

I mean the cufflinks? The fact that he just heard from the villain female side character and automatically decided "she bought them for 2nd ml wow ok idc abojt her anymore" I mean dude what? You guys literally have the same initials? And even if she's close to 2nd ML wouldn't it make more sense to clarify with her since, you know, you're in love with her? Of course not, bc common sense is nonexistent in dramaland LOL but still the way he treated her after that incident was inexcusable. Not to mention later on, when he misinterpreted a conversation between FL and the villain female character to be about him, when in reality FL was saying she rejected the sentiments of the 2nd ML. Whaaaat? He literally listened to what ten seconds of their talk, got up and stormed out, and from then on treated FL coldly and unsurprisingly the female villain took advantage of the situation to caused discord. AND AFTER ALL THAT, ML still didn't clarify with FL bc "she doesn't like me" even though he has NO IDEA she was talking about not liking the 2nd ML bc oh yeah HE MADE UP THE CONCLUSION IN HIS MIND?

Obviously female lead has a lot of issues too, but I honestly vibed with her way more than male lead. Partly because ML follows typical standard of being somehow good at everything/standard handsome man/perfect while her storyline included a lot more busting ass and dealing with shitty coworkers, jealous people etc. The more I got in into the drama the more I felt proud of her, like a mom, and the less I liked the male lead, whose feigned indifference rooted in his insecurity that the FL doesn't like him/misunderstandings construed in his head became an ugly pattern.

And let's not forget MAJOR SPOILER

...that the ML ultimately had a hand in ruining FL debut stage. There were some evil upper industry level shenanigans behind the scene, yes, but ML's incorrect identification of his "savior" (unsurpringly the villain female...gasp who knew) also contribued to his decision. Given his character, it's obvious that despite his professionalism he is also strict with her personal ethics and feelings, it should be clear he wouldn't have done as ordered by the entertainment higher ups unless he himself had some willingness to do so; that being repaying his "savior" LJY, when FL was the actual person from his memories (gasp shock oh golly who saw it coming?)

From that point onwards I felt sour in my heart, knowing what he did and his treatment of the FL afterwards (even when he knows she's the one who saved him!) pissssed me off on a grand scale. And although he misunderstood that FL knew about it and forgave him (for the life of me I cannot understand what logic is circulating in the characters brains, like why do they always assume they're talking about the same subject? CLEARLY DISCUSS AND RELAY YOUR FEELINGS TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE ON THE SAME PAGE? NOPE all we viewers got were painful ambiguous dialogues "you know what I'm talking about?" "yes of course" No NO SIR NO YOU DON'T?) that doesn't explain away his carefree attitude when it came to enjoying her jealousy from his interactions with the villain female character. Like dude, you know you screwed up and mistook her as your "savior", and you apparently love FL, so why bother dragging out misunderstandings? My interpretation was that after believing FL forgave him for being a part of the plot to screw up her idol career, he didn't seem all that worried about her leaving him for other things that he deemed minor? (Like he's lazy? Might just be me, but ngl at that point in the drama I'd already become defensive towards FL because of all the shit she went through)

WHOO okay that's enough of me shitting on the ML, it's a happy end and since the FL had no complaints then I'm satisfied. I'm happy he suffered a little when FL found out about his part in her failed debut, though still I'm a little bitter given that this seemed to be one major blow for ML while FL took...a lot.

I mean spoiler and reminder, the girl lost her home, career, best friend and confidence overnight, got kicked out of her other best friend's house by ML, then became homeless (in the rain!) and had no family in the city. Oh, and the only person she could rely on at the time wasn't around and instead that person's little brother continued to criticize and belittle her after essentially screwing up her idol prospects? And then even after finding out she was the one in his memory, continued to be cold and indifferent?

...ok so I guess I'm not done shitting on the ML, haha! Nuan Nuan be happy <3 on another note, soundtrack was great LOVVVVVE the opening theme! And acting was overall good, didn't feel awkward. The ML and FL fit their characterizations, and villain female character and 2nd ML annoyed me appropriately. Yes, I'll say villain female character and not villain male character; while 2nd ML was annoying he never came off as malicious and seemed to genuinely care for FL, especially because he knew of ML identity as the one who messed with FL debut. But the female villain character was straight up exactly that- a villain, who was somehow forgiven for trampling over four years of her groupmates hard work by plunging into the water? And deliberately tried to make moves on ML while posing as FL lead best friend (even after finding out they were together...at least 2nd ML didn't fake being buddy buddy, female villain was straight up malicious smiling in the face while holding a knife behind her back!) oof gives me shivers.

Would not rewatch, but hey if you like being frustrated (but if you're a regular drama watcher then I assume you do? LOL) then go for it. Anyway it's not particularly bad or good, but hope to see the cast in other projects since they all did fairly well :)

OVERRATED

It was just so off putting, the age gap and the way FL acted like a kid. Same Troup with cold man warm woman troupe with 0 creativity. I didn't get giddy about the it romance i literally skipped anything with skinship. I would like to review this but it's just a very generic c drama where you skip the heck out of it with no redeemable aspect whatsoever
Annoying FL - check
Cliché plot - check
Lots of fillers - check
Ml sometimes looks like a stone with unbearable acting - check
Age gap with ml being in power - check
Safe to say it's one of the worst dramas I have watched this year a total waste of my time
If you are reading this go watch literally anything else. 8.3??? Bruh more like 0

This drama has a Kdrama vibes. The actors are so professional with their acting when they are having emotional scene you could totally feel what they want to express. The story is also in a good flow, maybe because it still incomplete but as I have been following the story it really comfortable to watch. This drama is really recommended for everyone who wants to watch dramatic yet funny drama. This is like the first time I watch a drama that hook me, that wants me to watch until the very end. In terms of romance the two is still in the process. But my only problem is about their friendship, I don't really understand why they forgive that b*tch. But yeah, they give the reason on why they should forgive her but not really understable in terms of real life situation. The characters are really strong ones they have the confidence on their own. Hoping that everyone would watch this drama.

disappointing plot with decent casts

With all the hype about this show, the good ratings, and the number of people who introduced me to this show, I had a pretty high expectations toward it. Yet, I ended up disliking it from episode 1 to 9, and only find it bearable from episode 10 onwards. The male lead character is so freaking annoying. He has 0 character development throughout the show, tbh. He keeps hiding things from her and not know how to properly communicate.

As for nuan nuan, the only story she gets is that she joins a new job, meets horrible people, and gets sabotaged for it, and the cycle repeats itself. Though I do like her character to a certain extent, as she stands up for herself when she is bullied. I understand how she becomes softer when it comes to han che since that’s what love does to people.

Eleanor’s acting is really good though, she portrayed nuan nuan well, bubbly, loud, strong and kind. On the other hand, i can’t really rate Leon Leong’s acting as his character is too stoney, and not much inner conflicts which can be shown through acting.

The OST is good though, Liu Yuning’s voice is so good, as always!

Overall, it’s not my type of show despite the cute scenes toward the end.

I sincerely LOVED this drama, it was such a long time since I haven't been feeling the urge to watching a drama as soon as I get at home.
Let's start by saying that the plot isn't new, but I liked the fact that the whole drama starts by showing off the most inner part of the story and only after the story starts to answer all the why's about the first episode!
Let me say that I EXTREMELY LOVED the chemistry between the main couple, I remember the main lead from Meteor Garden and was the only one that I've liked back then from that drama, but I really liked his acting here!!!
I can sincerely say that the central episodes (around the 15th) almost made me cry, they were so beautiful that literally made my heart melt. I liked also the second couple, they were funny enough not to gettin' into the classic boring couple who usually doesn't have a story by itself. Generally, the end was really good, probably the episodes around the 20th are just created to give the drama a 40th episodes length, actually, they don't give real meaning to the whole history, let's be honest about it!
Overall, i really liked it!!!!!

This is a very good drama. It is a romantic comedy but the dramatic moments and their effect on the characters involving conflicts and emotions is what makes this a good show to watch. The actors did a great job delivering their characters, the leading couple has very good chemistry and definitely Eleanor Lee as Liu Nuan Nuan is absolutely brilliant bringing her character to life. There is great character development on this drama and the diversity of the leading lady’s character who is ambitious yet easygoing, enthusiastic, warm, funny and also super lovable (episode 23- her response after he asks for Intel on her parents), compassionate, and dependable gives the drama a wholesome mood. There’s also the leading male, Leon Leong as Han Che, whose cold demeanor and low emotional intelligence evolved into a determined, supporting, and steadfast support toward Nuan Nuan. One great aspect of this drama is that the difficulties and obstacles that are part of the plot are resolved quickly and the story flows nicely after recovery. Overall, this is a great and entertaining drama. Enjoy it!

• Story
The story itself is not bad I must say. Yes, it has the plot twist but they all aren't too cliches and it is easy to catch. I like that each character works hard to make ends meet for their life because their jobs changed from time to time. But the part where the doctor announced weather Han Che survived the surgery or not gave me a BIG relieve. Oh and one thing that shocked me is that this drama has 2 love triangle!

• Acting
I like that every single actors in this drama can act. The ML also has a crying scene. Which means that his personality changed after he starts being with Nuannuan. From cold hearted to soft hearted kind of vibe.

• Music
I feel like this drama only focuses on two music which is intro, outro, and that sad music. I don't really like the intro and outro music to be honest. But I'm okay with the sad song that would be played on the sad scenes.

Overall I truly enjoyed this drama. I love Nuannuan's humour so much. Maybe that's why I laughed a lot watching this drama. But one thing that bothers me that I wish the actors had a better styling. Nuannuan's hair style are horrible. And her makeup?? Her pink glittery lipstick are not it. I don't like it. Also Gu Li's hair style and his pants are bad. Why does he always have to wear short pants?? It. Looks. Bad

This review is totally bad but I still want to say something about the styling lol.

When your dreams is to be the best you

Nuan2x failed in the girl group she was with because King helped her backstabbing friend get the spotlight. She and Kings sister left the company. King realized that he helped the wrong girl and that it was Nuan2x that took care of him 4 years ago. He then tried to compensate her but eventually fell in love with her. A lot of misconceptions, miscommunication and misunderstanding throughout the show but they equally have great romance, friendship, success and kisses that it balance everthing. I love love the happy ending and I love the cry cry scene . Eleanor Lee is a gifted natural born actress. I completely immerse my focus on her character and forget that she is just acting.

PERFECTION

It was sooooo goooood , everything was perfect the cast , the acting , the story , romantic scenes , music EVERYTHING. I loved how the female lead did not get the hopes up for the 2nd lead, i loved the fact that she was straightforward and did not hesitate to say that she doesn't love him even though it was heartbreaking to see the 2nd lead sad but its better than making him think that she likes him and dump him at the end. The supporting roles were amazing. The romantic scenes were sooo adorable and cute and for the first time i fell for a chinese ost. The drama also has perfect amount problems, they did not drag it at all and it had perfect ending . I'm sooo in love with this drama , i hope there are more drama like this , ONE OF THE BEST CHINESE DRAMA♡

The story is quite cliche. That's it.
I was actually hesistant to watch this because of the previous summary provided (which they changed already). But the moment I clicked on the video and heard the intro OST I was immediately hooked?? And excited what the drama would be about. So the story is pretty plain but the reason I stayed would probably be because of the Main Couples' chemistry. They are very comfortable to watch so kudos to that. I rated rewatch value that high because I found myself searching videos about the drama every single day and night.. If you want to feel single then you should def watch this

JUST WONDEFUL........

personally, i was one of the ppl who ignored this drama becuz of the FL looking like a damsel in distress and the ML acting like all high shot and everything. but i bit my tongue and watched the first few episodes hoping it would be better and it did. throughout the series of episodes, it turned out really good and i had to reconsider wht i thought abt this cdrama.
by reading the synopsis, u would hv got an idea of how the story progresses and looks like a basic story where the FL hard works and reaches the top and ML softens up to her slowly and they end up together and all blah blah blah. But if u see the drama u will actually realize that even thou we knew the plot we missed a great deal. the actors pulled of a good deal of everything and was top notch.
if u like cute and bubbly drama with a simple romance, then this is for u....this drama gives us what we need and shows us what we all want to see also
there are going to be parts where u might disagree and find faults but hey, this is a drama after all..
