Sweet, Fun, Rom-Com

This is a low budget web drama that hardly has any promotion and goes under many viewers' radar. It is a non-serious romantic comedy, and initially, I thought I wouldn't like it. Somehow, though an easy-to-follow story, there are some twists and turns, mysteries and crimes, and a big overall conspiracy that really got me hooked on.

The acting is more like a high school drama - playful and silly. The names of the characters are hilarious to say the least. The Chinese characters used in Zhao Cuo's name have the homophone with the meaning "wrong anyway", whereas his father's name Zhao Juan Dui literally means, "All correct". The play of words in the dialogues with the names is simply hilarious.

Despite being a very light-hearted cute drama, there are some really wonderful moments, especially between the main leads and the dynamics between Zhao Cuo and his parents. With all the bickering and playfulness, Tian San Qi and Zhao Cuo have good chemistry together. I also love the side couple Bai Yi Fei and He Ruo Yao. Though very good looking, Bai Yi Fei is like a piece of wood and is very cute and funny, and He Ruo Yao has a wonderful female personality that I love.

I love the songs sung during the moments when one thinks or longs for the other. The melodies are contemporary love ballads which are very beautiful. Of all the songs, I fall in love with a nursery rhyme that is repeatedly sung by Tian San Qi and Zhao Cuo for each other; it is one of the most adorable nursery rhymes I've ever loved.

My verdict: If you don't have any other dramas to watch, or waiting in between dramas, "I've Fallen For You" is a pleasant one to watch given its light-heartedness and a short series.

I wasn’t about to watch this drama mainly because the plot itself didn’t look too promising (& I’m highkey a picky historical cdrama watcher) but I ended up watching it for my bb Esther Yu. I’m not even kidding the first few eps got me rolling LMAO and I’m glad this was more of a light hearted drama (compared to other cdramas w messy harems). However towards the end the entire plot got too messy, things were too rushed and the main leads’ acting just weren’t the same¿ It had me questioning whether I should continue to watch which in the end I did. The ML’s acting definitely looked forced and awkward at times especially when he tries to speak in a low voice. However other than him everyone’s acting was really good and that was mostly why I stayed towards the end. The relationships of the support roles w the main leads were so wholesome, main leads chemistry was good especially during the kISS SCENES SDHDHS, OST was good, and overall just a lighthearted and funny drama.

I would probably recommend watching this drama if u just want a good laugh tbh or if u just wanna kill time don’t quote me on that tho :0

Tissue Rate (aka how much I cried); 2.5 out of 5

- I give it a 2.5 out of 5 for how much I cried for this drama is mainly because I'M a emotional/sensitive person and most the times when I cried for this drama, it was because I felt bad for the main girl character Tian Sanqi

Wow this drama was so gooodddd! I would 100% recommend. Not only this is a quick and short type Chinese drama, but also the storyline was definitely an interesting one. I love the many plot twists that were apart of this story. The plot twist were what got me on my feet this whole drama.

I really thought I wasn't going to like this drama but because I was in quarantine and I needed a new drama to watch, I was like okay I'm going to watch this drama because I kept seeing clips of it on Youtube and trailer teasers as ads. Not gonna lie the first-two episodes definitely were the best, I was laughing so loud; my mom had to quite me down because I was watching this at night lol.

Story; This story was a super light heart storyline, personally I got super confused whenever they would show the scenes from 8 years ago when they were 10 years old (I'm just going to leave it like that because I don't want to spoil anything) but it later all came together nicely. I love the chemistry between the two main leads, BUT I didn't like that for the first few episodes, how he mentions he was her friend and was going to protect her but then ends up bullying her. I felt so bad for her (thats kinda why I cried; out of feeling bad). On top of that I'm glad the second lead Bai Yifei got a happy ending with He Ruoyao instead of giving us second lead syndrome with the first main female lead. What really kept me going was the crime and investigating scenes, I love how Sanqi was this strong female lead who didn't care what anyone thought about her.

Characters; My favorite character 100% was the father lead who was Zhao Cuo's dad. He made me laugh so much during this drama. I love that he sticks up for Sanqi and didn't care that she wasn't from a a rich family but she was from a small village, I love how they respect and treat her well unlike the other dramas I've seen with the father lead wanting the son to marry a rich family's daughter.

Overall, I would 100% recommend this drama, if you're looking for a good laugh alongside a cute romance storyline but also with crime and mystery cases to be solved.

10/10 would recommend. Everything about this drama is amazing! the acting, the production and defoz the plot. It had the right amount of light romance and mystery and everything. Even though its meant to have comedy there were times I could feel tears in my eyes, this was due to the amazing acting and because of the great storyline. Every episode was worth watching, none of the episodes felt like a waste of time. Its been a while since I've enjoyed a historical Chinese drama without it feeling like it was dragging. would defiantly recommend this

This review may contain spoilers
Just heads up, I've probably seen close to 100 historical dramas in my life so I'm very picky and my review will be due to that. The drama is full of plot holes and several parts of the storyline almost seemed unnecessary or made no sense. This has nothing to do with production budget but a poor script. For example, to have the boy just being Bai Yi Fei? Too simple. But to change that to He Zhen who was almost the only person with enough power to save FL just before her execution? Convenient. After 8 years of doing nothing to confirm his death, the assassins just decided to have a reunion, dig up a grave and think "Oh damn, we killed the wrong kid"? ML is apparently a martial arts genius but they barely talked about that after he got beaten up? Very bright and eye-catching poison just happens to be sitting on the well out in the open? Ink permeates paper more if you know martial arts? What? Yes, I know I'm nitpicking, but these details happened too many times in this drama for me to ignore. And while most people might comment that Esther Yu's (FL) acting is mediocre or annoying, I would rather shift the blame on those who created the character she was paid to portray. The switch from being a cute, clingy and almost a dumb country girl to being a genius at solving mysteries was weird and made her character inconsistent. In short, she was smart when it was convenient for the plot. Imagine if she was that good when trying to find out who her childhood crush was? Exactly.

I understand that most dramas aren't perfect so my review is more of a constructive criticism than a roast. Despite my complaints, the drama was still enjoyable and funny with a good-looking main cast who, I'm sure, will have many successful projects in the future.

This drama was a pleasant surprise. Not a high budget historical drama but entertaining nonetheless. The story was well written with just the right amount of drama, comedy, action, romance, intrigue and mystery to keep one guessing and hooked to watch. The actors did an excellent job even though they are young-ish and not that experienced. I think the ML and FL were both cute and well matched in looks and acting. Soundtrack is good too. Highly recommended if you like a light hearted historical drama with a decent story and happy ending plus it is very easy to watch-only 24 episodes!

I've Fallen For Fluff

As soon as I read the synopsis I was sold on this story, and I'm sure I am not the only one. Trust iQiyi with series like I've Fallen For You, and you know they do well without much investment or advertising.

Story

Two cute, little kids, a village girl and a rich boy with a mysterious background, share many romantic moments, they promise to marry each other when they've become adults. Alas, they get separated when the boy mysteriously disappears.
The village girl, Tian San Qi, becomes a forensic assistant to the local police, until she is suddenly ordered by the Lord of the country to marry his only son. The whole village waves her goodbye when she steps into the carriage in bridal clothes, and she suddenly becomes a stunner for all to see. She never arrives at her destiny, because she runs away to stay true to her vow. She swaps places with another forced bride who doesn't want to be married to the rascal son of local Magistrate Zhao. Tian San Qi decides to take her place beside this bridegroom, Zhao Cuo, because she has already seen him , and she's convinced he's her sweetheart from the past.
Somehow Zhao Cuo doesn't share her memories, moreover, he's reluctant to marry. However, it doesn't take long before she wins the hearts of her in-laws and eventually Zhao Cuo himself. Nothing seems to be in the way of a happily ever after for the young pair, until the Young Lord shows up to claim his intended bride. It's the starting point for a strange and dangerous adventure, that will lead to the mysterious past of everybody involved.

Acting/Cast

The main actors look beautiful, they have chemistry, but they both need more acting lessons. Still, I could relate to them and to all the characters involved. They really form a winning team put together.

Music

The soundtrack has some catchy songs and beautiful dreamy tunes that start playing in the background when childhood memories are shown from the leading couple.

Rewatch Value

The story may be unbelievable, but I've Fallen For this Fluff alright, and I will definitely rewatch this series.

Verdict

If you like light-hearted romance like me, with a bit of friendship, family, love, suspense, intrigue, and action, this is for you. Don't miss this heart warming story about a nice girl whose firm believe in a roguish boy makes him a strong and reliable man in the end.

Hidden Gem

Due to some of the comments, I was hesitant to watch this but let me tell you.

WATCH IT.

This has the perfect slices of mystery/romance/action/plot twists/and the occasional over acting for comedic relief. I really love the over acting, I find that comedy type to be what makes me laugh a lot. If you don't like over the top laughing or silly day dreams, you just need to over look those scenes because you will really find a gem in the rough.

I love the chemistry between all the main leads. The bromance as well I really thought was cute and sweet. The trust between everyone and how it develops during the plot as they solve crimes, get set up and vouch for each others lives is heart touching. I love a female lead who is daring, clever and very bubbly/unique/silly.

Everything really really REALLY ties together at the last 5-6 episodes and then you'll be like AHA that's where this was going. To me who can predict a lot, I was taken by surprise. Even though, I felt like the person who was behind the entire evil plot kind of just came out of no where but I didn't mind. Everything was tied up at the end and it was a happy finale.

Hope you watch this drama and enjoy it as much as I did! xoxo

A Wonderful Surprise

This was exactly the ticket to fluff-ville that I was looking for lately.

IFFY was pleasant surprise as I went into this drama not expecting too much. It has the fluffiest of fluff and enough mystery to keep the plot propelled. There is of course the usual tropes such as childhood love and promises, as well as some small plot holes, but these were overlooked for the cuteness and well-placed humor throughout. It isn't really an action packed drama, but there was enough going on that the plot rarely dragged. There was little need for skipping as the less packed moments were filled with many laughs and sweet chemistry all around. While it is definitely puts the romantic in rom-com, don't go into this expecting a touchy feely, skinshippy kind of passionate love story.

The acting had its highs and lows, and was often times humorous even in serious moments (I assumed it was purposeful), with some actors doing better than others, but ultimately it wasn't cringeworthy. The OST was spot on, with the ending song being highly addictive.

All in all, IFFY is by no means a skip and hop into thriller-ville, but was well-paced and sweet. I recommend if you're wanting a nice and light drama to watch, with a little mystery to balance it out.

This show does not take itself too seriously, but it is hilarious, cool, and fun! Cheesy one-liners, exaggerated emotions, and reactions - the actors seem to be having quite a bit of fun with their roles. The cast is great, from the main OTP to the secondary couple, to the supporting actors. Zhao Cuo's dad is great! Although there are a couple of side characters that are one-dimensional and cliched, most of the actors fit their parts well.

The lightheartedness of this drama is a perfect break from work, life, and other drama shows. Despite the silliness, I found myself immersed in the show's twists and turns, and the conspiracy plot. True, the writing is not smooth, and there are moments that will make you go 'huh?, how is that possible or what just happened?' but everything comes together nicely in the end.

I also enjoyed the romance and the bromance among the main characters. Esther Yu as Sanqi and Liu Yi Chang as Zhao Cuo have good chemistry together in an adorable wholesome way. I'm glad that they made Sanqi intelligent, brave with a unique interest, loyal, and has a backbone. Zhao Cuo is not the perfect male lead, but he ends up being the most devoted husband, and his commitment to Sanqi is endearing. Liu Yi Chang has the looks which I think will mature nicely, so I hope to see him in more projects. I am not sure if his voice is dubbed, but if it is his real voice, I like it! Esther Yu is super cute, but I wonder if she would be type-casted into certain kinds of roles because of her cuteness. Acting-wise, they both portrayed their characters pretty well, but they still need to continue honing their skills. I was less invested in the secondary couple since they did not have as much chemistry. Still, they make a good-looking pair. Luo Ming Jie plays a fine-looking but at times, emotionally clueless Bai Yi Fe well, and I love watching his interactions with Zhao Cuo. They play off each other well. I feel bad for He Zhen, the third male lead who comes into the picture too late and never really has a chance anyway. Still, his earnestness and care for Sanqi make me wish that he has his own happy ending.

The OST increased the coolness factor of the show since the songs are contemporary and well-chosen. Each piece was fitting to the mood and scene, but my favorite is Wander by Di Zhiwen.

I probably will re-watch this show since it is such an easy show to enjoy and binge on the weekend! I do recommend it when you are in a mood to watch a show just for laughs and cute romance.

One Time enjoyable watch !!

This drama doesn't have any unique plot, it's just a normal historical rom-com so do not expect much but...
First of all, I liked all the characters so many scenes were funny and good to watch. There were some good turning points and I loved all the side characters more. The second leads were my favorite. The pace was pretty good. The fl here is not annoying instead cute but intelligent too. Ester Yu nailed her character.
If you are in the mood to watch something light-hearted rom-com, you can definitely go for this. For me, I loved watching this.

The story fluctuates from boring to interesting and some stupid. Acting is mediocre . FL is high pitch annoyingly childish and the ML is forcefully low pitch with unnatural growl (fake manly). The 2nd ML is better at acting slow like a sloth but cute and the chemistry with the 2nd FL is great and humorous. I had to fast forward some to get to the ending quickly just to finish the story. If the unnecessary parts and dump slapstick are removed, the plot is very good and twists were creative. Not a rewatch or binge worthy
