Surprisingly good and cute! worth a try!!

The ML improved SO FREAKING MUCH since PYHOMS. His visuals, acting, chemistry with the FL has improved A LOT so give it a try, you won't regret. I fell in love with the entire cast. The story progresses really well and I'm glad I didn't skip this. I didn't fast forward any scenes but instead I rewatched (which I almost never do). the story doens't get draggy or boring anywhere.

The FL isn't the typical damsel in distress but quite a strong one for a big change from her previous works. The leads have a sizzling chemistry and not to mention the second leads too! They have an interesting story. The actors portray their roles perfectly. I don't know how I'll be able to move on from this! Their smiles are so damn freaking contagious OML I can't stop smiling. The second couple have a really good story pace and not simply rushed just because they had to be together for the sake of being together. I wish they had an entire drama for themselves!

In short, you'll get hooked up when you smell the chemistry between all the actors and not to mention the kisses :,-) honestly this drama set the bar high for cutesy rom-coms xo.

Really sweet fluff!!!

If you want some relatively-short, happy romance fluff, this is for you!
It's actually quite rare to see a male-chase-female rom com nowadays without evil/scheming secondary leads, but here is one to satisfy your sugar craving.
Also, if you're into smart leads (with very clever romantic dialogue), you'll enjoy this show.
Yes, people do fight, but they are resolved relatively early and maturely; so get your chocolate ready for a big binge journey that will help you forget the Gu Wei Yi in Put Your Head on my Shoulder LOL

Extra points to the poetic nature of the lines and the cultural references -- I honestly had to look up some of the more sophisticated things they said, but I think the whole "well-educated main characters with great literature background" setting really makes this drama unique -- as in only the Chinese can produce something like this without seeming cringey.

The last few episodes do transition a bit weirdly though -- at one point I thought I was watching Code Blue instead of a rom com, but I guess it was a plot device to help the main characters reaffirm their love for each other so I'll take it.

Cliche storyline, but fluffy and impeccable chemistry

If you are looking for something lighthearted, fluffy, and something that gives you butterflies on your stomach whenever you watch this is the one!! This drama has the cliche storyline: childhood friend, bright fl, and so on. However.. what makes this drama special is the main lead's chemistry and the dialogues + scenes in the drama.
Most of the scenes in the drama are well-executed starting from the angle, editing and so forth. And I really appreciate the scriptwriter and the novel writer, the pickup lines and love story are just GENIUS!! especially the wifi name and password, that blew my mind. This drama is probably one of my fav rom-com drama of all time, this doesn't have annoying 2nd fl or ml, and all of their problems are solved maturely. Shao Qing and Cong Rong solve their problem maturely, they understand and support each other, they don't put shackles on each other (if you know what I mean)

Also, the second couple is also really refreshing, it is rare to see a nice second couple storyline, even though the second couple kinda overshadows the main lead storyline, but it is still okay. The OSTs in the drama are also catchy and pleasant to hear. and of course, I shouldn't miss out the kissing scenes, DADDI TANG IS INDEED A DADDY, HE'S SUCH A GOOD KISSER .... With all of that, I don't see myself moving on from this drama anytime soon.

I am not the type of person who rewatches dramas, but I can definitely see myself rewatching this drama in the future. Even now I have rewatched some clips (esp. kissing clips..) several times :")) This drama really warms my heart and makes me smile like a total fool istg!!

With it, MY LITTLE HAPPINESS IS DEF RECOMMENDED

Love the romance, the flirting, the skinship, and the kissing!

Whether you need to cure bad-day blues or just a distraction, adding this series to your watch list might do the trick. It's cheesy, it's fun, it's tropey, and I enjoyed it! With a good-looking cast, fantastic OST, and a witty script, this show gives us more of the cute stuff that makes us laugh and feel good. Plus we get the most satisfying ending ever!

(Daddi) Tang Xiao Tian has certainly come a long way from his supporting role as Fu Pei in PYHOMS, and this time he gets the girl. With the charisma, looks, and physique fitting of a male lead, Daddi flirted and charmed his way into the female lead's (and my) heart. As Wen Shao Qing, he was truly the perfect guy - intelligent, good-looking, caring, and most importantly, unwaveringly committed to the only love in his life. Heck, being a successful neurosurgeon, he was even the perfect son-in-law for the stereotypical Asian family! His chemistry with Fair Xing, who played Cong Rong was off the charts, and their interactions were so fun, flirty, and charming. Cong Rong was the kind of FL that I like - strong, independent, plucky but not annoyingly domineering or over-confident. I appreciate the care and respect that Shao Qing and Cong Rong had for each other, especially regarding their relationship and careers. Even when Shao Qing did not want Cong Rong to sacrifice an incredible opportunity because of him, he still listened, understood, and could relate to her need to protect him.

I am a sucker for tall men and significant height differences between couples, and this show used it very effectively. It is not enough that Daddi Tang has an impressive height; the show also gave us Leon Li (as Wen Rang, the second male lead) and Liu Cang (as Shang Guang Yi, Shao Qing's cause for jealousy). Wen Rang was an interesting character, in a way more interesting than Shao Qing. I enjoyed the poetic dialogue and the references to literature and culture. That's one reason why I enjoy historical Korean dramas so much, so to find it in a modern C-drama is a treat. I did not suffer SLS, but I did spend most of the show wishing the very best for Shang Guang Yi. That man looked really fine in his suits!

Overall the cast was excellent, and there was good chemistry among the actors. Watching the doctors' and the family members' funny interactions with each other was time well-spent. Admittedly, I was not wild about the second female lead, Cheng Cheng - the character was a bit too bimboish, and she could wear less of the short shorts. At least her chasing of Wen Rang was more dignified than most FMLs that we see in C-dramas (Love is Sweet, anyone?)

The OST is great, and I love all of it - the songs and instrumental pieces. It's a little campy when the music kind of crescendoed during the top of a poignant moment or when the couple's lips finally met, but hey, it did evoke the right mood, so I am not really complaining.

I don't usually re-watch an entire series, but I have re-watched the romantic (ahem - kissing) clips a few times. Still, it is short and light enough that I might replay this show when I am in a funk.

An extremely satisfying watch

This one was pure cuteness with a dash sexiness.
The main couple was on fire, so there are lots of PDA, kisses and love quotes.

The dialogs were super funny and the story doesn't go on the angst route, so the obstacles the couple go through are no the typical ones like miscommunication os a crazy ex.

I really liked the FL, she was super down to earth and a totally go-getter, which is cool to watch. She is no damsel in distress, but the ML still is a knight in shining armor, so it's interesting to see them finding a balance in their relationship.

You kind of get the mature side of a couple, so it's a bit different from the "after they get together it's boring " kinda of drama. You stay because the script is nice and their acting is great.

I enjoyed it very much and it's definitely a fluffy romantic watch!

Absolutely adorable! ❤️

Okay, Im going to say it. Please dont hate me! Im one of those who didn’t fall in love with Put Your Head on my Shoulder. It didn’t even register a blip on my cdrama love radar. I was bored and had to drop it. Im sure it was a lovely drama but it wasnt for me!
Then I heard that the FL and the 2nd ML of PYHOMS was going to do a drama as leads. I was intrigued because the 2nd ML (Fu Pei) of PYHOMS did not make an impression to me at all. I didn’t find him attractive nor compelling. But I saw him in ToGetHer and decided to watch him here because, after all, its a Fair Xing drama. First episode in and that was it for me, I was a goner.

I LOVE THIS DRAMA SO FREAKING MUCH!

Story:
There are a lot of haters saying that Wen Shaoqing fell too fast and it wasn’t realistic, blah blah blah. Well that’s drama land peeps. I mean c’mon, I dont watch cdramas to raise my IQ points nor because I need a dose of reality. I watch because of the feels and for an escape from the mundane. And it more than delivered, I loved everything about the storyline and how healthy their relationship is. No annoying 3rd parties and if there were, they were smart and gracious too. Oh and when talking about the drama, you have to mention the kisses. I mean whoa! The kisses are so passionate and realistic that you feel like you’re a voyeur and are intruding on their private moments. I need more dramas with kisses like these

Acting/Cast
Why didn’t I notice before that Daddi Tang is so unbelievably gorgeous?! I mean seriously, this role was made for him. He was absolutely perfect as the tall, intelligent, beautiful and affluent Wen Shaoqing! Perfect boyfriend material. Fair Xing was adorable as always and their height difference is just perfect. I have never wished that a couple was dating in real life as much as these two! Their chemistry is off and way beyond the charts. Their flirting on and off screen makes me ship them even more.

The 2nd couple, Im not so crazy about but the love I have for the OTP is enough for me to give a 10!

Music
Just perfect

Rewatch Value
Well Ive rewatched it 3 times already, so enough said

Overall
10/10 Its already in my top fave dramas and believe me I’ve watched a lot! I strongly recommend this if you are in the mood for an unrelenting ML who chases the FL and is very determined. I also suggest watching this if you want a feel good drama with low angst and sweetness overload!

Let’s talk about that ending too! It was one of the most perfect endings I’ve ever watched in a drama. All loose ends tied in a perfect and beautiful bow! ❤️

Very sweet

I started watching this drama because I am a fan of daddi tang since I've seen a couple of his works and I liked them, especially in the roles he played ML. Now another reason I started this drama was that I previously saw "Put Your Head On My Shoulder" where Fair xing was the female lead and Daddi was the second male lead, so I wanted to see more of their chemistry. Now obviously if a drama isn't good I'll drop it even if I like the actor/actress, but that wasn't the case with this drama.
This drama was pure fluff. We didn't have unnecessary angst or misunderstanding that lasted for episodes. Their chemistry was also very good. The ending was one of the best endings I've seen for a Chinese drama.

Definitely recommend watching, you won't regret

I guess it's ok?

I've read other reviews for this drama which were a bit negative, a lot mentioning the height difference of the two leads. Poor Daddi Tang must have had a few back aches when kissing (very well) Fair Xing !
Overall I think this drama was quite enjoyable, maybe a bit too sweet and too predictable.
It's not the best nor the worst. Only average as it has all the ingredients for a nice cute drama.
I want to see more of Leon Li. For me he's the show stealer...I'll watch for future titles with him.

Cute drama with childhood friends becoming lovers

Cong Rong and Wen Shao Qing were childhood friends, until she moved away and since then he has been waiting for her to come back. Although the premise is a bit cliched, it really worked!

In the beginning, the ML is the only one who knows that they were childhood friends and he's the one that is aggressively pursuing her while she is like nope, bye and then over time she grows to like him as well. This is a show full of cute scenes and sweet moments between the two leads.

I feel like the pacing slowed down a bit in the middle, once they were together, but overall it's an easy show to binge watch. The show also gives a lot of screen time to the second couple which was great. They were a bit unconventional but really grew on me and I got super invested in their relationship.

Two things:
--I legit had to go back to watch it again because in one scene the ML cut an avocado into quarters, the seed included LOL. I guess noone in the production crew actually eats avocado.

--I found the ML too pushy sometimes and it didn't come across as just being flirty to me - like her having to sleepover at his house when she had a concussion. I think the FL is stubborn and doesn't like to rely on people, but I found his behaviour too much at times.

So cute!

I enjoyed this so much! It took me like a good five or six episodes to realize the male lead was Fu Pei from Put Your Head on My Shoulder. I had recognized the female lead right away, but not the male lead. I loved PYHOMS and that’s probably my favorite C drama, so I was pretty shocked to realize that this couple really, really worked, considering how much I hated Fu Pei in PYHOMS. Clearly they’re great actors. The story is so cute and warm and the ending was cute and warm too. I don’t really know what to do with my life now that it’s over. There’s reasonable conflict but nothing overly dramatic. And I really enjoyed the second couple as well. Their story was interesting and I was invested. Overall there weren’t really any characters I hated or disliked.

This was exactly what I was looking for - cute, fluffy, had an interesting story and it progressed nicely. Overall, I was not at all bored and enjoyed myself.

What My Little Hapiness does best, is that it creates very interesting characters, who learn from each other and their meaningful relationships have an impact on their lives. The main couple is very supportive of each other and they are so fully fleshed out, that nothing was potrayed out of character for them.

Where I really found a jem here was the second couple, though. From the moment they were introduced to us, they were just a perfect fit and I especially loved how they genuienly were an influence in each other's lives.

The OST and the cinematography were pleasant as well. The drama has a nice tempo, I don't even remember it having a slower episode that would make me bored.

The only negative I would maybe mention, but if you watch Chinese contemporary dramas a bit, you well know about this, the hospital parts were a bit unrealistic/cliche. Other than that, a solid 10 from me.

Quite badly done with plots that make me want to headbang

Ok. I have watched finished it but seriously…I watched it on full speed. I skipped it, played it at 2.0x speed because it really pissed me off at the scenes.

I do so wish that I would stop watching dramas like this pop up everywhere. There is only 1 reason I cannot stand this show and thus gave a 1.0 rating. It was the story plot and the characters.

I could honestly write a whole section on how irritating the characters were and how they lacked human sense as well as the unrealistic portrayals of situations. It really cast a bad light on the drama. I would like to talk about two scenes in particular and one that I didn’t really see clearly (and if so, please correct me) but if so, I really think that it reflected badly on the script writers.

I would first talk about the situation that I didn't really see clearly. Firstly, the Female Lead (FL) was established as working as an legal (thanks for the person in the comments for clarifying) intern in a hospital. It went like this. Real WHAT Moment coming right up….She saw a sus dude con a man who was a patient in the hospital. She was kinda smart and decided hey! That dude is sus, the patient is in danger. So what did she do? She freaking left the doctor jacket right in front of the security guard and left the compounds. I CALL THAT UNREALISTIC! I assume as the sky is still clear, it is in the morning, she is at work. How can she just leave the compound and dump her doctor jacket in front of the security guard? Even if she was an intern, no one can just leave work as and when they want to. Furthermore, how can you just leave your doctor coat there? There is a security guard ma’am, for a reason! Tell that security guard that dude is sus, or walk over to confirm that the con man is really bad. She freaking hesitated to approach them when she already felt that something is wrong. WHAT IS WITH YOUR LOGIC? HOW DID YOU GET INTO MEDICAL SCHOOL with that level of intelligence?

Second situation. Or more so one situation split into two. Both that equally are so inhumane. Just because you scriptwriters want to write a romance drama, doesn’t mean you resort to stupid ways like this. First, there as an earthquake. Nothing wrong with that, nothing wrong. The ML who was a doctor was called to service those hurt in the earthquake like help them with their injuries and do surgery for those seriously injured. I see nothing wrong with that. The problem is that the FL signed up to join the rescue volunteer team for the earthquake JUST BECAUSE THE ML WAS INVOLVED IN THE EARTHQUAKE DISASTER MEDICAL TEAM. I was so dumbstruck and she purely did that because she wanted to see him. HELLO, MAAM! WAKE UP! It is an earthquake, people are dying, your job is to save people! Not pine away after that boyfriend you couldn’t see during an earthquake rescue help. It makes 0 logic sense that you would do it. Furthermore, why would you even join an earthquake rescue volunteer team with no sincere heart to help? You are not even giving logic reasons to join the thing, if you aren’t prepared, you will just drag the team down! Next, she did her job, rushed to save a boy who was in a collapsing house and stuck under a slab of concrete, listen (CONCRETE). Then she was like how am I going to help the boy? I can’t carry him out and lift up the concrete? Then you know, the earthquake starts again and she panics. Guess who appears? DUH…ML…I mean what the chances that he would appear? BUT ANYWAY, LETS JUST TURN A BLIND EYE TO THIS IDIOTIC CHANCE ENCOUNTER DURING AN EARTHQUAKE, the ground was literally shaking. Instead of rushing to help the boy who was obviously going to die, after being crushed by a concrete slab. THEY SPEND A FREAKING MINUTE LOOKING INTO EACH OTHERS EYES! DURING A FREAKING EARTHQUAKE! THE GROUND IS SHAKING. The bgm plays. I get that the scriptwriters wanted to create a so cute moment but was it necessary and the characters were so dumb! Being a medical professional, shouldn’t your job be to help the boy instead of giving cheesy looks into each other’s eyes. The earthquake situation was for you to help people note date people. I also couldn’t believe that instead of the ML lifting the concrete, the FL did. Which was huh? And after that, I don’t remember clearly nor see clearly so take this sentence with a pinch of salt but the boy didn’t look that injured…after being crushed by concrete. Forgot to mention, a slab of concrete crashed on the ML while they were saving the boy and the earthquake was ongoing. THE ML STOOD UP AND WALKED OFF CARRYING THE BOY? I get that they want to portray the ML as a strong person but this isn’t believable.

I wanted to write one more situation but I believe I have roasted this drama and reviewed so detailed till it might put you off from watching it. However, I would just like to say that this is my personal opinion and shouldn’t stand for yours. If you really really want to watch this, go on! My review is just to help those undecided or want to find a new drama to watch make an informed decision.
