Hilarious and comedic, but well written and chaotic.

Story: When I first started this my plan was, because it was a sitcom, I wasn’t going to take it seriously, it was just for a laugh. However they created such an amazing plot with a couple that had great communication and were so sweet. If I had to describe this show in 2 words it would be “chaotic” yet “meaningful”. Every character brought something new and funny to the series, and I fell in love with each one, especially Om. The final episode was a good closure too in preparation for a season 2. I’m sad that there is only 6 episodes but I’m so happy with what we got, and wouldn’t change a thing about this series other than the flashing lights at the beginning because I felt like I was gonna have a seizure. Other than that it was the perfect balance between funny and serious.

Cast: Yoon (Nott)- He’s so handsome and, for a rookie actor, did such a good job as the role of Nott. He was funny but portrayed emotions well, and I really enjoyed every scene he was in and his great advice at the end of each episode.
—Talay (Pun)- I fell in love with Talay from My Engineer, and fell even more in this series. He’s also incredibly handsome, and is a natural when it comes to acting. He was by far the best character in the series and I really hope to see him in even more dramas.
—Poppy (Porpla)- I loved his character in WhyRU and I now have so much respect for him as he played the feminine Porpla, dressing in drag and being incredibly flamboyant. He was the funniest character and definitely brought the main humour to the show. I can’t think of anyone who could have done as well as he did.
—Peerawich and Scott (Om and Arm)- Om was seriously the best friend you wish you could have, even when you thought he was just silly and messing around, he was smart and intuitive while being hilarious and amazing. He was my favourite character and the supportive friend we all need! Arm I had mixed feelings over his character because while he did help the couple progress and knew when to back off, he seemed incredibly desperate due to his attraction to Nott. However they were both awesome and I liked them a lot in the end.

Music: The music was great, I really enjoyed the opening and OST, and the constant sound effects really helped the setting. I also loved the constant references through the music such as the WhyRU music which made it even better.

Rewatch value: That’s definitely a 10, I will be rewatching this very soon and probably a few times so I can have another laugh.

Overall: If you like more serious dramas I would probably avoid this, but if you like sitcoms and cheesy slapstick comedy with a healthy relationship then definitely check this out, you won’t regret it! I’ll also say if you liked the drama Diary of Tootsies then you will love this!

This is the most chaotic series I’ve ever seen! What I thought was going to be a good way to pass time, turned out to be a beautiful story about friendship, love and the bond you create with the people around you.

THE STORY:
The series follows the story of an apartment complex where only men are allowed to be tenants. The story also has several callbacks to Why R U the series and you will see why soon. From here on out, the story follows several couples, the most prominent being Nott and Pun, and their journey towards love.

THE ACTING:
The acting is seriously impressive! All the characters seem to be crazy and the actors channel the essence of their characters very well. A special shoutout has to be given to Poppy as Porpla, whom I just found out played Junior in Why R U the series! For actors who seem to be doing their first or second roles, they were amazing. I have to say that it’s been amazingly cast.

THE PRODUCTION:
This is the first time I’ve seen a sitcom format for a BL and I have to say I’m sold on this idea. The production team has done an excellent job with this series and I believe it’s going to get even better as it goes on. The series also breaks the fourth wall often to either give advice on love, or sometimes it’s just cause!

THE OST:
What a fun OST! The OST of this series is the same as Why R U’s OST and I love it. Most of the tracks of Why R U’s OST are reused for this series and I couldn’t love it more!

THE NEGATIVE:
Nothing. Absolutely nothing. I cannot think of one negative thing about this series.

THE ENDING:
WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT ENDING! Seriously what was that ending? They rode off on a Spaceship and THE END!! Then that one year time jump? I really hope that was a season 2 announcement.
All kidding aside though,
What I thought was a series that depended solely on it’s hilarity, delivered a surprisingly poignant and heart touching finale. That conversation between Porpla and Pun about unfulfilled first love was something else. Poppy was just ‘Chef’s Kiss’. I never would have thought that my favourite character at the end would be Porpla and the relationship I would be most invested in would be that of Pun and Porpla. That Spaceship though! I guess they got together, but that ending has got to be an announcement for season 2!

This series does not have as high as a rating as other series’ do, but trust me, it’s worth your time. If you’re having a bad day and just want to laugh , this series is perfect for you. Its a surprisingly insightful series about life, if you just look past those quirks. I hope this review helped you with your decision to watch this series. Thank You!

Y, Y, Y Should you watch this?

Why not?!.... Before we start,

WARNING: if you suffer from epilepsy or from chronic migraine. like me, skip 46 sec to start each episode. You won’t miss anything important from the intro, I’ll quote what they say at the end so you can save yourself.

The second thing I want to point out is that this series is not for everyone. This show is pure chaotic energy. It is not your normal rom-com, this is a sitcom, so don’t go in there with the mindset of a regular show and the bl tag because you will be disappointed. Even when it comes to comedy you’d also need to consider things like cultural context and personal taste. I have noticed that in Thai, they do a lot of play on word that Thai’s find hilarious while for the rest of us it may fall flat or even not make sense. I personally do not like Jim Carey type comedy and I’d never go for those kinds of shows but I seem to like this one. My point is - keep any open mind :)

The plot follows the lives and interactions of people that live in an apartment building owned by a yaoi obsessed transgender woman. Right off I’m going to tell you that some of the scenes in this drama are a product of someone’s lucid dream so like the warning in the intro said – don’t expect things to make sense. A true crackheads fever dream I’m telling you. Besides the crazy, you also have fake relationships (duh it’s a bl), love triangles (hello Asian drama), over-the-top-extra characters, they repeatedly bring up scenes from other bl’s and make parody of it and yet there are real, truly meaningful, moments and a few nugget of wisdom in there.

Nott (Yoon) – Frankly speaking, this is one of the most well-rounded, well written character I have seen. In this wack-a-do-doodle of a drama I did not expect to see such a mature character. The actor really did well, he comes off as both adorable and somehow serious at the same time. His character is a great communicator and his every interaction either with Pun, or his other two close friends (Arm & Ohm) will truly leave an impression.

Pun (Talay) – Pun is the cute new tenant that moved in with Nott. In all honesty, more than the character I am impressed with the actor. I watched Talay both here in YYY and in My Engineer so I got to see him play two different characters at the same time so I was able to see how well he did in his two roles with two different partners. I mean, I was rooting for his character with one person on Tuesdays and with another on Saturdays. This shows how well he worked with both his partners. My man oozes charisma on top of his ability to act. I really think people should keep an eye on him (and also bless his stylist because Pun’s outfits were good!)

Propla (Poppy) – okay anyone who has seen Poppy knows how buff and masculine he is but he put on a wig and a dress and he looks so feminine and his acting just sells it. I’m truly impressed. Poppy plays the yaoi obsessed, transgender apartment owner and provides most of the levity in the show.

The Bl part of this show is so endearing. Yoon and Talay have good chemistry and the characters Nott and Pun are just perfect!

Most of the music for this is from Why R U, but they have two OST and they are good! One you can dance to and the other one actually has really cute lyrics XD

The directing and editing is not that great (same director as WHY R U so no surprise there) but I found it hasn’t stopped me from enjoying the show. I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised with this show and I don't regret watching it.

Much like the show my rating also defies logic. A rational rating considering all aspects of the drama should have put it between 7 - 8 but I'm basing my scores on how good this drama makes me feel.

**If you decide to give this show a try, please support the show by using the official links. Aphys has kindly posted all official links as well as those for the official MV in the discussion forum.

For those who will be skipping the intro, here is the quote as promised;
“This Yaoi sit-com show is made for pure entertainment. This show contains strong language and inappropriate contents. And useful knowledge? Meh. Zero. Only drama. And I mean LOTS. Guidance should be suggested for children 18 and under. Do not ask for any rationality. Seriously. Do I look like I’m rational? No. Give me a break. If you want to laugh, laugh your heart out. Things are stressful. Give yourself a break. Without further ado, let the show begin”

I laughed, I got romantically excited, I cried.

This series ended well more than I expect! At first I heard a lot of bad reviews about this series when the first few episodes came
out, and I was worried because I really fell in love with it since the first episode so I really want this series to be a success and I want more people to see it. This series made me laugh, cry, romantically excited, cringe (lol), laugh and laugh again. Even though some scenes were acted exaggeratedly and some were illogical, all the characters still portrayed their roles well, especially Pun (Lay) and Nott (Yoon), and made it one of the best bl comedy I've ever watched!

Overall, I really love this series and it's sad that it ended early and has only 6 episodes, I wish there was a lot more.
But at least we're getting a season 2 :)

tl;dr? Every episode starts out with an introduction basically telling you not to take the series too seriously because the show is supposed to be for fun, and, honestly, I recommend going into every episode with that idea because it's actually super enjoyable~

PLOT:

It's a bit over the place and entirely chaotic, but I still found myself smiling. The entire show is introduced with the idea of not taking it seriously, and I think that's how it should be viewed: it's just some silly show meant to be funny, and, during these times, I really think that's something that's super important. That being said, there are a LOT of Thai cultural jokes in it, and a LOT of references to other BLs. I would honestly compare it to the "Scary Movies" of BLs--while they're not necessarily making fun of BLs, there's definitely a plethora of BL references in it like you would find a plethora of horror movies referenced in "Scary Movies." So far, I've seen references from Make It Right, Why RU, and several others, and it makes my day~

ACTING:

To be honest, I started this show because I saw Lay had a main role, and I love him as King in "My Engineer," so I decided to check it out while I waited for another episode of "My Engineer." Of course, Lay's acting in this is just as good as in "My Engineer," and I'm actually impressed with P'Yoon (who plays Nott) too. Honestly, the whole cast is great and over-the-top, and it's awesome~

OST:

Like the plot, the OST is all over the place (in a good way, I swear). Sometimes, there's piano and acoustic guitars for a "serious" scene, but then it'll switch to some vocalized music almost immediately when someone does something stupid. Also, because it has several BL scenes featured in it, there's a lot of other OSTs from other BLs in it as well, including Why RU's OST, which just makes it that much better, especially since I really enjoyed Why RU's OST.

PRODUCTION:

I haven't watched very many Thai sitcoms, so I don't want to get too far into this just yet, but, so far, I enjoy it. As mentioned above, there are a LOT of Thai cultural jokes, so it can be hard to follow if you're not familiar with little Thai things, but I don't think it takes away from the cute, nonsensical plot they've got going on so far~

OVERALL:
I'm pleasantly surprised with this series, and I'm excited for the next episode~ For something that was just supposed to be a "passing time" thing, I'm actually invested into the chaotic storyline they've got going on. It's great~

This show has become one of my favourite BLs ever. I love the development of the series, the different topics they presented. From consent, what is a relationship, communication, one-sided love, to mention just a few. I wish more BL series would learn from this show. YYY is definitely an unique show with a lot of heart.

I applaud all the actors/actresses. I'm surprised that a lot of them are new. The music is very good. I definitely will re-watch this series several times. The best part is the story. So well done.

a nice mood booster

this drama is literally the equivalent of the "do you ever look at someone and think, 'what's going on in their head?'" meme. if you're looking for the slightest drop of logic in this, you're leaving empty handed. you were warned at the beginning of every episode. it's nonsensical, chaotic and quite over the top but that's what makes it so entertaining.

what's absolutely special about this is that underneath the layers of the intentional comical editing and over exaggerated characters, there is still a pint of meaningful scenes. this drama (i know it's a sitcom but) tackled a character than ran away from home who is now on his way to finding his dream, an orphan pursuing his dream, a short breakdown about consent, chaotic people being each others' family and support system.

the main leads are adorable... i can't deny that. however, they can not cry for their dear life. i can't help but giggle during the crying scenes but i do love the way pun and nott characters were portrayed. the romance was super cute and the main leads definitely worked their way on their communication issue. while the ending hurts, it made sense for them to part ways. they needed time figuring themselves out and along with their dreams as well.

overall, i definitely enjoyed the chaotic charm this has. it's definitely not for everyone. if you are looking for something to shut off your brain and consume bits of pure lovely nonsense, this is for you.

Under all the crazy, this is a sweet story of a found family: the madhat residents of an apartment building where girls are strictly forbidden, people get lost inside washing machines and the existence of aliens surprises exactly nobody.

I admit that the first couple of episodes didn’t really hold my interest outside of Pun - and by extension Nott - but slowly, as we got to know all the characters, I fell in love with most of them. Especially Porpla, the very eccentric owner of the building, crazy of mind and big of heart - it was her scene with Pun in the very last episode that made me cry so hard that my throat closed up and my nose got all stuffy.

It’s a very short series, 6 episodes only, but AFAIK S2 was already confirmed by someone on the show. I’m glad. But even if there is no S2 - you never know - I would be content with how the drama ended.

Perfect amidst the chaos

I was expecting crazy based on all the comments here in MDL and I got it and more LOL This show is everything!!!

I got to hand it to the actors though, I was ready for crazy, chaotic, and comedy but they nailed all the emotional scenes (weird costumes be damned).

After watching the series, I get why it's called YYY - you will ask yourself "why???" at least three times in every episode HAHAHA

The icing on the cake is the visuals of the main leads and the chemistry. I wish it has more episodes but I am happy we are getting season 2.

Really unbelievable

I really wanted to know what is on the writer's head when he/she wrote this series. It was really unexpected but in a good way. The story is really out of box, the last episode blew my mind, as who would have thought, u can add spaceship in this series. I mean, isnt that something you wouldnt expect from bl series? I know im not. Overall, its fun, hillarious and u really need to have neutral thought while watching this series. I hope there will be season 2 and contain lot more crazy story line.

The first episode will already hit you hard. You will be introduced to a very blinding start (trigger warning: flashing colors) and a wacky plot. The series can be a bit overwhelming for some audience. But if you manage to watch the first episode or the first part of the first episode, you should watch the whole series! It is worth it! I looked forward every Tuesday just to watch the new episodes. YYY never fails to cheer me up when I have a bad week.

YYY is 80% filled with crack moments. If you have a weird sense of humor like me, you would most likely enjoy the series. Not only crack, there are some angsty moments too. YYY proves that a series does not always need to have intimate scenes and too much angsty moments. A series can also be enjoyable by having funny scenes. I applaud the directors for including life lessons that most BL series would not include (e.g. consensual sexual acts). This very reason supports why one should try to watch YYY.

Initially, I watched this because of Pun (the actor is also in My Engineer!). However, the other casts are interesting and lovable and they definitely caught my eye. I don't think there is a character that is annoying or leaves a bad impression, in my opinion. If you have some bad thoughts about certain characters, just watch till the end. Your bad opinions of the characters would most likely change.

Would I rewatch YYY? Definitely, without a doubt. The series is not too long and draggy. Hence it is perfect if you have free time and you feel like watching something that is light-hearted. Can't wait for the second season!

SIMPLY AMAZING!!!

If you have a bad day, watch this show, it will make your day. If you have a good day, after watching this your day will be even better.

I'm so happy that Yuri who's into Nott is really lovable (so many girls who are into main character are b*tchy and annoying sadly) I really loved her! In fact all cast was just amazing, not just main characters.

All characters are 10/10. I love all the dorks!
Lay is also one of the prettiest guys I have ever seen, like... he's so pretty uwu
