You Are My Most Favourite Surprise
Make My Heart Smile tells the story of Ye Wei Mian who disguises as her twin, Ye Zheng Han due to some circumstances. Through disguising as Ye Zheng Han, she met Gu Yan Luo and embark on a romantic journey. The plot is straightforward and not complicated. However tho, the storyline is very cliche, you can literally predict everything that is going to happen, it is your typical story of an average woman who meets a "god-like" man. And also I can lowkey feel a hint of the Korean drama, School 2015. As the title name goes, this drama makes you smile from time to time, you can feel the sweetness between the leads. The plenty of sweet kiss scenes in this drama definitely made up for the lack of storyline and plot holes. Such as, there is no explanation about the twin's parents, Yan Luo's dad, and so on.Luo Zheng's character in this drama is someone who is cold yet warm to the one he loves. And I can say that Luo Zheng did a pretty good job since most of the characters he portrayed are similar. The actress, Ji Mei Han also did a pretty good job. I've watched some of the dramas she featured in before, but she did not leave any deep impression, so I can't really comment on her acting. However, I gotta say, some of her scenes were really cringey and greasy. Another thing that does not sit in right with me is her costume, why does the wardrobe and design team dress her like she is a 7-year-old kid. The wardrobe team could've definitely done better.
This drama was under a lot of backlashes due to a racist comment in the drama, "you look like a Filipino maid". I know it is wrong for the actors and production team not to clarify it, however, I personally feel that one shouldn't literally criticize the whole drama over a line of the scriptwriter's mistake. There is still a group of actors, directors, and so on hard work poured into this drama.
All in all, if you are looking for a fluffy romance that will make you smile this is the one! (if you don't mind the racist comment tho)

I'm a Filipino and my mother is a domestic helper in short a maid but Im proud of it coz without her I wouldn't be successful. Let me tell you, I love watching chinese, thai, taiwanese, kdrama or turkish because it makes me relax. For me theres nothing wrong with just one sentence. I'm not also insulted when he said that because I know being a maid or DOH is a great job. Mind you, its a decent job. We have a lot of problems in our country by watching this it makes me feel at ease. You better think before you comment your hurting them also. Its not here fault they are just actors. POSITIVITY
In my opinion , I really like this drama , I didn't see any racism or any kind of problem. The story is pretty good , and while watching it I couldn't stop smiling , it made my heart flutter. The main lead guy , he is just ideal type of guy, who every girl would want to have. I understand everyone has different opinion but it doesn't mean to show case in such a harsh way, every drama is not perfect , all the drama have some kind of spoiler in it. If you hate the drama then keep it with yourself , why to spread hatred through your own opinion. NOT EVERY PERSON HAS THE ABILITY LIKE YOURS TO THINK NEGATIVELY!!!Please don't behave as if you haven't heard the word called humanity.

Fluffy mindless watch
This is a super cute and fluffy type of drama.There is nothing new here, but the actors do a great job!
Something to be appreciated is that the problems are solved really quickly, and there is always something new, so you don't get bored.
The FL is the happy/reckless type, however she does get your heart because she is kind, funny and always up to some shenanigans.
The ML is really nice too. When he fell in love that was it, he was super cool and "efficient". I mean, the guy could solve all the problems without looking like a know it all, he just did it because it was going to help the FL.
In all it was a quick watch to pass time and by the end I was looking forward for the ML's next project.

a light, cliché story, but it made me smile to myself
Honestly, at first I wasn't interested in watching this drama when it was still going on. But on a whim, I tried it and WOW. I can't even stop streaming watching this drama. The story is very, very cliché, but they carry the role very nicely, sweet with a strong chemistry. I got carried away with Gu Yan Luo's attitude. really dream boyfriend. I didn't really pay attention to the soundtrack. This drama is able to make me smile until every sweet scene, I play it back. I'm the type of person who has a hard time getting the feeling when watching dramas, so I didn't watch a lot of dramas. but not with this. Good Drama Criticized so called racism comment over "one" line in the whole drama in "one" episode.
Not bad of a drama typical story line cute fluffy drama ! Now one line in the whole drama has everyone in a bind just one line and to me it is not racism just a form of expression or to give an example on how that person looks now I know not all maids in any country dress like that looks like fashion to me that outfit was nice and no maid would wear that period.. So if you see that part look it is not racism people are upset just because he said it " You look like a Pilipino maid" I bet if he said a French maid no one would say anything or an American maid okay so to me it is not being hateful just being what you call picky butt on her outfits lol. If you feel like the drama offends you move on. Don't watch it don't criticize the drama over one line blame the writers not the actors ! Now the drama itself could have being shorter the ending was super cute great kiss between the ML FL .. Can't expect much from these dramas.
I don't remember the "racist" part of the drama. But it's a very typical story line. It's like a slight rip off of parent trap? But it's just one twin doing all the work and one was asleep for a good 85% of the drama. The next thing that you would expect is for the main girl to have ALL those guys after her according to the trailer but that wasn't the story. It's just simple story where a rich boy uses his many tricks to get the girl to like him when he found her interesting. Of course these rich boys would be new to the love scene. I only watched the drama for the sweet scenes, with no expectation for it to be good which is probably why it was stomachable for me.Was this review helpful to you?
TRASH DRAMA!!!
If I could just rate negative or zero stars, I would probably be satisfied! This is a mixing pot of all cliché scenes and negative complaints you could probably see in a drama! The lead female is overacting while the male lead is trying hard to be a cool character! (THEY DO NOT FIT THE ROLE!) The story is filled with unnecessary fillers and the plot is nauseatingly CLICHÉ! The music does not fit the drama, IT DOES NOT! I WOULD NEVER TRY TO REWATCH THIS TRASHY DRAMA AGAIN! And according to the reviews I've read here, this is a racist drama. Chinese claiming superiority against Southeast Asians AGAIN! I could not count how many times this country insulted brown-skinned Asians! I would probably have to stop watching CDramas from hereon!OVERALL RATING: 0 STARS!!!

Terrible. Racist script. Offensive
Don't watch this. Racism against South-East Asians are so prevalent but overlooked. This drama is an example of it and it's downright insulting.What's the point of saying "you look like a Filipino maid" and how is being a maid an insult in the first place? There is nothing wrong with that occupation. It's a decent job. Makes you wonder why they said this in the drama. For comedic purposes? How can anyone even find that funny?
If you tolerate that and you still want to watch this drama, then I don't know what to do with you.

Bad writing and bad acting
The ML acting is ok but he needs a better role , not a college student role. He is suited for mature role while the female lead acting needs to be greatly improved. Her acting is so difficult to comprehend , the facial expression does not convey whether is she happy or sad. it more look like she is always happy. The story is too ordinary. The second leads have better acting but still cannot compensate bad writing. If the want a beautiful romantic mellow story like Put your head on my shoulder then they have to put good actors and actress . The screenplay has to be in coherent., the incidents and conflict is too light or not convincing enough . tacky typical plot
the ratings were what swayed me to watch this series in the first place. however, the storyline is typical cheesy tacky drama romance. the guys acting were on par but the girls were just bad. the sml and the sfl do not match at all. the fl is wearing pigtails and ponytails that makes her seem like an elementary student. she's a fashion designer and i find her style just child like and unconvincing (especially for a 3rd year college student). i get that the drama is depicting her as an easy going happy go lucky full of sunshine person, but everything about the fl is just annoying and doesn't do her any justice in her character/personality. she seem to be more like a child even though she's the big sister. the ml seems more like the babysitter than the love interest/bf.i really tried to hang on and finished the series but i stopped at ep 10 and watched the last ep.
overall, the story line made me cringed and seriously, others should skip this drama. the other ratings are overrated.
