this show isn't getting what it deserves

I've seen so many people talk about this show being disappointing, but I honestly disagree.

Firstly, the two main leads did such a great job. I love their chemistry. Also, lots of people are saying that Jimmy's acting is lesser than the korean actors but I don't think that's the case. Yoon Oh and Dr Moon are much more emotionally heavy characters then Peach. Personally, I feel Peach is someone who doesn't display his sad emotions, rather opting to give out a screen of happiness. Even if you still believe that Jimmy's acting wasn't good enough, he still did a great job portraying the emotions of his character.

Next, the story. I think the script was realllyyyy good. I'm trying to not spoil too much but the ending was perfect in my opinion. It didn't try to give us an unrealistic/hypocritical of somehow rising the dead. It was a nice ending. And the writing was really good. Nothing cringy or unneccassary.

Overall, if you're hanging on the fence, I'd say just watch it. It's fairly short and I don't think you'll regret it. IMO this show is much better than some thai BLs with a higher rating.

You really have to turn your brain off before watching.

Is the chemistry between Jae Hyun and Jimmy good? Sure. They are cute. Yoon Oh and Peach as characters have good dynamics with contrasting personalities. But is this enough to watch the show?

I feel like the show tried to portray the subjects of loss, regret, miscommunication/lack of communication. How some people can be so focused on their own feelings, they can’t see other people and the truth that is there. It all felt extremely flat though. Having not much screen time, it’s not wise to add many plot lines and side characters. Pick one main and one side plot and develop them as well as you can - that’s the way to go.

Quite a number of things make no sense. Peach staying at his dead friend's house, and no one questions it. The investigation of the police was a joke itself. Yoon Oh can manipulate objects in real life, since his mom heard him playing the guitar, but it’s not really brought back for them to communicate with each other in any way? Give him a laptop, making him type! Peach flirting with the air with the people around him. These are just a few things that happened without proper explanation, and were there just for the sake of the plot progression, even though they made little sense.

The biggest let down was Yoon Oh’s relationship with his mom. It would be an amazing plot for his character development and driving force of the show, but they decided to just… resolve it in the first half of the show and bring it back at the end. This should be the focus!

The quality of the acting depends on the actor. Jae Hyun for sure does well in his role, while Jimmy struggles quite a bit. He has improved a lot since his Why R U days, but I don’t think he has yet reached the level worth compliments. Got to love them dry crying scenes.

The drama is for sure pretty. Saved quite a few screenshots. The cafe scenes were just aesthetic heaven for me. The soundtrack was also one of the better aspects of the show. All songs were fitting the scenes they were used for.

Overall, it was all just misdelivery. Not once have I felt sad, even with such an emotional topic. Yoon Oh vanishing Thanos style made me laugh my ass off at the end, especially with how they robbed fans of that kiss.

Beautiful storyline

This was a series that tugged at my heart because as a mother i would have been devastated by my childs sudden death...
Yoon Oh and Peach were friends that became more than friends after his death and they made the best of their short time together beautifully in synch.
It just reminds the rest of us here on earth to try and appreciate what you have before you lose it to whatever circumstances life throws at you.
Those of you that try and analyze the the storyline too much....stop wasting your negative time by dissing this series and try living in the positives...

A first love that transcends symbolic boundaries...

Peach of Time is that drama that makes you question values and scenes, but at the same time pulls you in closer when it comes to the bond between the leads, to the acting skills of the cast, to the mix of Korean and Thai languages that in a collaboration creates such a cute masterpiece as this. I was really happy to know that Jimmy and Tommy would be in another drama together, and got even more thrilled when I learned that it was Korean production and that Jimmy would break the pattern by pairing with Jae Hyun. Quite refreshing to see both Thai actors entering in different roles in a BL rather then forming a couple.

There's a lot of speculation and mainly harsh criticism around this drama, because of the lack of information it provides or well the knowledge into this world they provide us where ghosts exist, talk and eat, as if the living can't see that happening. Lots questioning why Peach can see only Mario (Tommy) and Yoon Oh (Jae Hyung), instead of seeing more ghosts. And how come no one finds it weird that he talks into thin air as if everything happening in this drama is completely normal and ruled out.

Thing is this is most likely a small production drama, so I am only guessing the budget isn't that high to begin with. Another thing to consider is that maybe the screenwriter and production wanted to maintain the opening for the viewers to engage and take on wild imagination and think outside of the box with this. No the ghosts are not eating, it's probably an illusion or ectoplasma that "allows" them to pick on objects. The said objects are not floating on air, otherwise people would react, it's probably a projected image of sorts, that to be done properly would require extra budget and special effects too. So, it's left to people to imagine or think about a little more into perception rather than having all the work done and shown.

As for the "why" Peach is able to see Yoon Oh and touch him even. Perhaps is the connection they share, or the fact that he believed his friend was there with him in the first place. Even so when he did discovered the truth he had already seen Mario too, in a way he believes in good and is naïve, it didn't took him long enough to embrace both and accept what they are. The fact that he does that, dealing with the stages of grief differently probably makes him able to "touch" Yoon Oh. Unlike Yoon Oh's mother who can neither see him or touch him, but then again she did the same when he was alive too, she would only nudge him for good grades to enter medical school, ignoring her son's ambitions and dreams. She has been in denial ever since her loss, therefore not accepting anything because of her deeds. Perhaps in the last episode she will be able to be granted to hear her son, as she has already seen him in what appeared to be a drama, where Yoon Oh manifested to her.
As for Peach being able to see Mario, he has been a resident at the resort for two decades, I can only assume his presence has influenced Yoon Oh too because they are both spirits with deep sorrow to resolve. He is bound there and therefore connected with Yoon Oh because the resort was from his family, and Mario was a worker there. They chose to focus on only this two plots, Yoon Oh and Mario instead of the drama being about Peach being able to see ghosts and help them out which would result in a bigger mess and would need more episodes.

I am not saying there isn't a couple of flaws here and there within this series, but I am not going to be unfair and call it a disaster and rubbish solely because of those. There are far worse series out there, than this one.
By focusing on certain aspects they did neglect a few, and although some are to make the viewer think outside of the box, others are just peculiar. Like the fact that in a resort about to close down, Peach of Time café can gather quite a few clients in a crazy short amount of time. I can discard the fact that Yoon Oh's mother let him stay right away at the resort, even when she was grieving because it a friend of her son which she had always neglected, and also because maybe she felt the need to not be alone in there after everything. So, considering all that and more it's not that strange to let him in and stay.

What is strange here is the whole concept of 49 days, Yoon Oh is passing through is, but Mario has been there for 20 years. It's said that if left with deep sorrow and unsolved problems, a spirit can turn evil. It amazes me how he has not turned into one in the first place, has his 49 days pass already? Then is Su Jin , his former lover the only thing that is keeping him behind? Again, small episodes, and trying to cover all this by pointing the obvious would leave no space for imagination and theories.

Peach is not a tourist there, he is a humanitarian who travels the world into help missions. His parents run a café in Phuket back in Thailand so he is not entirely strange when it comes to the business, although it may differ from this one in Korea. It wasn't hard for him to travel to Korea to meet his friend, only to discover the sad reality and make it his personal mission to help the other to find peace, even if it will cost him more than he would like to admit.

Their love story is both beautiful and heartbreaking here. It's a tragedy of what they might have had, of a young first love that did not have a chance to blossom in the right time. Of a friendship, and bond that transcends realms of the dead and living. The symbolic value of their moments is what moves the viewer to be engaged into the plot, and ignore the plot holes previously mentioned. It's not common of a theme within the whole BL world, although there are a few dramas that tackle around this, - Peach of Time - remains so far by my standards as rather unique, not only because of the cross languages used, but also because of their beautiful story and the symbolism it truly represents. The journey of the soul, the selfless love.

As for acting, Choi Jae Hyun takes the prize here. The way he embodies the insecure Yoon Oh, and manifests the emotional struggle of being child of a single mother, of suffering bullying through his teen years, the pressure of his mother to make him study and pass a hard exam only to grad from a school he did not want to attend. Lost dreams, will to live, drowning in constant doubts, insults, pain and neglect. He was a lonely person, who preferred to ran away from his troubles, the reason he met Peach in the first place. Maybe the first time he noticed the café could be is safe haven, and took interest into being a barista. Jae Hyun has shown us the remarkable actor he is and how he can tackle down a main role as this one, no wonder he is gaining more popularity given this, and hopefully we will see him in another drama soon. His emotional scenes can move those who see him, become the broken Yoon Oh. I just want to give him a big hug because he did not deserve what happened to him.

The criticism towards Jimmy is something that I cannot fathom. I mean he is certainly younger than his co-stars, since Jae Hyun and Tommy are both 95' liners, but age does note matter when it comes to talent. And Jimmy is nurturing that within every role he has, and this role of Peach if no different. Jimmy is doing a surprisingly good job. Comparing him with more experience actors on set, that can foreshadow him and claiming he does bad acting is wrong, He still has room of improvement, but his role here is the typical clumsy, innocent and happy boy who i might add is in a foreign country so it's normal for him to not know the language or seem "stiff" when in contact with the locals, other than with Yoon Oh and his mom.

The real mystery here lies, why did Yoon Oh's mother taught him Thai language? I found it weird to have one talk in a language and the other understanding it and answering into a different one, not being a middle ground there, but oddly enough within the first episode that awkwardness dissolves and it's different and somewhat enjoyable. Could it be connected to Mario? He was after all a Thai staff that worked in the resort until the fire 20 years ago. He also said he knew Yoon Oh for long ago. I presume Yoon Oh is around the same age as Peach, 22 yo probably. That only means Mario was still alive, when he was born, and it's mentioned that Yoon Oh's grandma left him the resort in her will... Another odd fact, Peach can speak basic Korean, but he says to Yoon Oh's mother he does not know Korean, therefore he speaks Thai with her when she reassured him that she understands because she was the one who taught Yoon Oh, but how can Peach understand everything they say in Korean if he has trouble with the language?

Mario's plot is good too. His changing wardrobe seems questionable, but then again here it's all about perspective and well presuming what it might be. While in other dramas, we have seen that burning clothes can help the decease to change attires, or burning incense allows them to "eat" the food presented. Here we are not given any of that, so once again I like to consider it's a projection of an object and the plasma that fits their needs. Or focusing on the simpler version by discarding the logic and throw it out of the window and go with the flow and enjoy the drama without bickering about every single little aspect and flaw. Just appreciating how fine Tommy looks in a black suit, and how strangely sexy he can be with red contact lenses. His acting is flawless like always. Really amazing how he engages into his character, there's a certain charisma whenever he shows.

Ae Yun acting as Yoon Oh's mother is another good actress here. Although I highly resented her role, as a mother and a single mother no less, the way she showed "love" as she called it was wrong. It was never Yoon Oh's fault for the misdeeds and choices of his father, or for resembling him in the slightest. Also, to create high expectations of her child and forcing him to follow a path, was the breaking point. Often times, it leads to cases of severe anxiety and depression, and also suicidal youth problems. It is only when a tragedy happens, that they open their eyes to everything said and done, and realize how unfair they've been, her cruel text message to her son in a moment of rage was utterly despicable. Yoon Oh grown up with a busy and stressed mother who seemed to resent him for being born, and yet she has the audacity to claim he was her world. Well then, she should have treated her world better when she had the chance too.

The places are all the same, from the resort as a home to the café within it, to the short glimpses of the hospital and police station, and to the most romantic place in Seoul, the Locks of Love fence situated in Namsan Tower, production wise may be small but so far has done a good job with the resources they had in hands. I really like the color setting here, warm colors in most scenes, even at night. Be it by the warm colors of the actor's fabrics or even in the environment lights in the shots. I don't know how to explain it but it's a nice touch, instead of the whole gloomy vibe whenever there are spirits around. It creates a warm aura even in the dark scenes, a glow of well quite the "Peach" palette if I must say, from oranges to pink soft tones.

What can I say about the OST so far, it's catchy. I like it, not that memorable as some other dramas, but pleasant to hear though. I hope Jae Hyun's song is included, his voice is so soothing and beautiful that would be a crime not to have anything from him in the OST. I have not checked yet, because the OST has been taking long to be launched, but would like to see one or perhaps two theme in Thai. I know the drama is mostly Korean, but would be cute and meaningful.

It's bound to say that the ending might be realistic, despite painful, it's what the meaning of this drama is all about.
The 49 days. How to let go, and move on. A spiritual journey and experience of a lifetime.

If you engage into Yoon Oh and Peach, and the realization of their over growing feelings, their bond, their friendship, and their selfless young love. Or if you focus on Mario yearning to find his lost first love, and the reason to why he thought he had been abandoned, the deep sorrow he carries within his heart, until he faces the truth and discovers the scars of his past. If you realize how subtly the five stages of grief are incorporated into the plot through several characters and their own personal problems that seem connected with Yoon Oh. If you appreciate the settings and surroundings, the symbolic message the drama portrays and the value of the sentimental scenes. If you listen to the OST and the lyrics of the songs.

You might even grow fond of the main characters and cheer them on despite knowing that there is a rift between them.

The beauty here is in the maturity Peach has to deal with such a sensible matter, and how strong he is to carry that responsibility upon his shoulders. And that slight immaturity and jealousy Yoon Oh shows on certain times, because he fears the to be lonely, if Peach will end up leaving him behind. And yet they are both equally mature for their age, while dealing with everything with grace. To know that the current situation is not okay to be maintained despite their growing feelings, to know that there will come a time where one has to let go of the other, and see him depart with peace.

Many fail to remember how this drama started. It starts with a hint of the possible ending. Peach remembering Yoon Oh on his table, mentioning what he learned and what the other has taught him while he stayed in Korea for that short amount of time. The memories he gained and the lessons learned, that moment was him leaving the resort and café he temporarily opened. Now, not sure if they left that there because they were building up the thriller in the plot until the reveal of what happened. Still, it would be foolish to change that course of events, since it seems settled on happening. How are they going to develop that in the final episode, hopefully without leaving loose ends. It's a good meaningful drama, with a chance of re-watch value, at least for me, since I am a sucker for symbolic meanings.This was a first time for me to see the mix of Korean and Thai in a drama, it would be fun if this would open doors and allow different collaborations in other up coming dramas and projects too.

Don't watch this drama is you don't expect to suffer a bit through the episodes.
Don't fall into the romance, expecting a holy miracle or magical twist through the story.
Just give it a try and enjoy the ride. It happens fast, 10 episodes of more a less 30 minutes tops.
The storyline is meaningful and unique in a certain way, and the main actors synergy engages in quickly.
Yoon Oh's and Peach way of love is certainly bittersweet and lovely at once when you realize the predicaments.
Not all information is provided in plot, which allows you to think and create elaborate theories of your own.
You will be cheering them on, and you'll want to cry whenever Yoon Oh cries, because his acting is that good.
Memorable for everything I have seen so far. Really love these 3 main characters, Yoon Oh, Peach and Mario.

NOTE (SPOILERS rant): Just finished it. The last episode could have been A LOT better. I liked the series as whole despite its flaws, but this last episode lacked in more ways than the whole series.

Mario is seen having a blast with his first love but has he resolved his deep sorrow and moved on? It never really shows. The party was the most cringe little party I've ever seen. Not sure if the audio and synch were really off but it made things awkward with Yoon Oh having a poker face while "singing" what it could be an emotional song .
Once again, no one interrupted the lonely Peach in there or found it weird that the host of the party did not joined his guests... It does not tell if Yoon Oh's mom forgives the man responsible for her son's death, but from his confession it was indeed an unfortunate "accident" rather than a murder or suicide.

FINALLY Peach and Yoon Oh hit the beach in winter and we learn that the deep sorrow within Yoon Oh's heart is, not being able to confess his feelings for Peach while he was still alive. Such a pity that the final kiss scene is gone with the wind in there. The bracelets break and I guess their wishes come true. If Peach's wish was for Yoon Oh's to be at peace then what was Yoon Oh's wish?The boiler, the sudden smoke, he gets scared by that, so could it be that he has lost his "ability" to see the dead?

I doubt that was a mere coincidence when the café seemed closed for business. It also does not disclose if the resort is sold, the characters simply disappear after the Christmas party and that is it. I know it focuses on both, - Peach and Yoon Oh, - however there's a little thing called closure in a storyline that does not happen here.

Peach is back to being ordinary not being able to see Mario or Yoon Oh.
And could it be that Yoon Oh really did moved on?
Or is he still around like Mario, watching over his loved ones?

Endless possibilities and theories, but it's not entirely a satisfying enging... Even with the hint that there could be a continuation of the story. Overall this drama, has it's up and lows, that much is certain, but we cannot disclose that the message is here wavering between the awkward and meaningful scenes the show tries to portray.

Not your typical high school BL.. This is life

I loved how they combined the cast and languages of korean and thai what a great concept would love to see more of this. I personally didnt notice the accent changes unless i was paying attention to it i think they blended well. Also have some tissues there are a few emotional parts. What a great storyline about 2 boys Peach who's family own a restaurant in Thailand and Yun oh who family owns a resort and mom is a doctor so while visiting from korea he and peach meet for the first time. They keep in touch over the year and peach decided to come to korea and yun oh was excited especially since he got his mom text "he should never of been born".he was sad. She was always angry with yun oh since he looked like the man that betrayed her so she had yun ho hoping he'd return then he died when yun oh was five so she didn't get revenge instead they would argue and she would say hurtful things and text and ontop of it grandma died and left "Happy Resort" to yun oh, but she had to sell everything and take a loan for the inheritance. Its a beautiful place that they live in until one day peach shows up and the place is closed and he see mario, but he cant find Yunho anywhere and then his mom appears and invites him in. He explains who he is and that they planned this last month. He goes to his room and he's not there (most peeople would ask when hes coming home) instead he falls asleep on the bed and wakes up to him playing guitar then they start tickle each other when his mom says "can you be quite" (why wouldn't she ask what are you doing) There are strange things happening that you don't really understand, but you do notice it and once you figure out what happened it will blow your mind at the end of ep 2. then slowly everything falls into place. We watch as peach helps yunho try to make peace with his mom and helps him complete one of his dreams to play guitar and sing on stage and to open his own coffee shop. As they start to get closer there feeling get stronger and its the beginning of a beautiful relationship and then we mario who's been around the resort for 20yrs and trying to find his lover su ho to see why she never showed up for there date. Yoon mother still doesn't believe the police and is trying to investigate and get the PD not to give up. Peach helps yoon and his mom reconcile they issues and same with mario. There is more to this story, but you need to watch it yourself as i ust finished and i needed alot of tissues. Its worth the watch. Hopefully the movie will also fill in. 1-2spots ???

Peach of wasted potential BUT nonetheless enjoyable

The major criticism that this show got is because it seems rather flat on an emotional basis for the story that it carries and delivers to the audience. Miscommunication and regret are two major subjects of this series, but it has not been brought up sufficiently. It was not easy to emphasize with the entire story, I still enjoyed it though.

Production / Music
Music was well implemented and a good aspect of this show. The aesthetic of this drama was solid, especially the scenes at the café. Personally, I think the overall cinematography of this show has met my expectations and they did a good job in the casting too. Jimmy fits into the role as Peach, visually, and Jae Hyun portrays Yoon Oh well. The ending scenes were also edited enjoyable and reminded me a bit of the older K-dramas.

Plot / Story
The idea of this plot was extraordinary and there was a lot of potentials to make this a top tier BL series. However, the implementation of this incredible idea failed once they took the “miscommunication and regret”-part, which I have mentioned before, too lightly. I understand why they tried to focus on the romance part of this story more, that is why I will show some understanding in my rating. However, it could have been a solid 8.0 if they focused more on the coherence of Yoon Oh´s existence and his potential for character development throughout the series.

Cast
I liked the collab between Thai and South Korean actors and I also think that the cast did well in their roles, especially Jae Hyun. Let´s make this clear, I think Jimmy is an angelic human being and he also frequently makes my days better. His acting skills did also improve but he failed a little in delivering the sentimental scenes. The cute scenes were of course, super cute. Tommy did also act acceptable, as always, and made me wheeze in his whole appearance. However, I understand the reason for his clothing, and I am glad they implemented it. Just again, the coherence of the existing thing… they did a few mistakes with Yoon Oh´s appearance there.

Overall
I think it was enjoyable to watch so I guess I will rewatch it again.

Equal parts amazing and infuriating....

CAST:

Choi Jae Hyun as Yoon Oh and Jimmy Karn Kritsanaphan as Peach are not only perfectly cast in their respective roles, but are absolutely amazing together. Their interactions and character relationship is so comfortable and natural that if you saw them walking down the street together you would think they really were a couple.

Jung Ae Yun as Moon Sung Sook [Yoon Oh's mother] was incredible in the moments where the character showed emotions, but there was also a lot of it that felt very devoid and flat, which given the way the character was written, I think comes down more to that than her actual performance.

Tommy Sittichok Pueakpoolpol as Mario was just kind of there, he served his purpose at the beginning but then the more the series went on, the less and less parts of his character and story made sense.

STORY:

This is where the "equal parts amazing and infuriating" from the headline comes into play. If you separate the whole two meet meet, become friends, fall in love, and cherish what time they have together part from the rest of the story, then it's an amazingly beautiful story. Unfortunately, it's the rest of the story that really left so many holes in the plot and missed opportunities that you really have to turn off your brain.

The whole one person being dead, them being in love/falling in love, and trying to help them move on definitely isn't anything new, not even in BL dramas, and honestly other series and movies have handled the execution of it so much better. I personally think a lot of the issues cold have been easily addressed if the series had been longer or if several scenarios were written and or executed differently. We've seen other series like "He's Coming To Me" actually address the other people question why things are floating around, why is this person talking to themselves, the different costume changes, etc. and take those into consideration in the series.

OVERALL:

It's a beautiful series with more holes than Swiss Cheese, but if you can get over that and enjoy it for the beautiful moments of two people cherishing preciously short time together, it's definitely worth it.

Good but not great

This series generated quite a lot of expectations when it was announced that Jimmy and Tommy will act along Korean actors in a Korean-Thai co-production filmed in Korea.

The show has some strong points:

1) Good chemistry: Jimmy and Tommy have acted together in "Why R U" and have been a BL "couple" ever since... so we knew they have good chemistry. Their main issue was the challenge of going to Korea to film alongside Korean actors and get used to the Korean way of doing dramas. They talked about it in several videos you can find on Youtube and overall I think they did a very decent job. And yes, I know Jimmy's acting skills still need to improve, especially in the sad/dramatic scenes, but I felt he provided very nice moments throughout the series. In addition, his chemistry with Korean actor Choi Jae-hyun was not perfect but it was quite good despite Jae-hyun being 5 years older than Jimmy and having quite a bit more acting experience.
Both play their roles effectively and convincingly enough. And while other Korean BL series have had better chemistry among the lead actors (see "To My Star", "Where Your Eyes Linger" and "Mr. Heart" for examples) both actors navigated through the language barrier to present a very decent product.

2) The music: This was one of the best parts of the series. The OST is nice and all the music surrounding some of the scenes was always on point and even complemented the weather and the mood on the scene.

Now some of the not so strong points:

1) Plot: The story of someone being able to see a ghost is not new (see Thailand's very good "He's Coming to Me" with Singto and Ohm Pawat and the 2 episodes dedicated to the Thurs-Pao/Pae story in the disaster that was "Y-Destiny" for examples) but the story of Yoon-oh and Peach brought the added fact that Yoon-oh could not leave for the afterlife because he had a deep sorrow to solve. Despite what the preview mentioned about Yoon-oh and his mother being a bit distant, I always wondered about the "real" sorrow that Yoon-oh could have... was it a) his relationship with his mother, b) his feelings for Peach, c) the cause of his death, d) a combination of all of the above?
The first episodes were clearly focused on his relationship with his mother because Yoon-oh seemed to be hindering some anger or resentment towards her. Then, when Mario starts meddling in the Yoon-oh/Peach relationship, we see some hints of Yoon-oh being sad or regretful about loving Peach but not being able to remain with him forever. Then, near the end of the series, the issue of Yoon-oh's death is brought to the center with suicide being ruled out thanks to new footage from another car's dashcam. We also get very few details of Yoon-oh's visit to Phuket so we assume they fell in love with each other there but never had the chance to develop those feelings with Yoon-oh returning to Korea and Peach going to Africa for charity work.
The problem with all of these scenarios is that the plot never really focuses on one aspect alone and works on it to develop it in a more satisfying way. They jumped from the mother-son relationship, to the Yoon-oh/Peach relationship, to even involving the man trying to sue Yoon-oh's mother for malpractice as being the one who caused Yoon-oh to step into traffic and be killed (which is a weak argument as the man never pushed him or forced him to start walking on the street) and then, all is magically resolved in the final half of episode 10.

2) Support actors: Tommy, the girl who helps Peach in the café (Shin-ji) and the girl's mother (Soo-jin) are all connected as Tommy's character, Mario, also has a deep sorrow that he couldn't solve in many many years, but ends up being solved in about 3 episodes of the series. He worked at the resort and fell in love with Soo-jin but then died on a fire without being able to see her. His sorrow was that he never knew why she didn't show up... we find the reason around episode 8 and that was it, nothing very significant.
Yoon-oh's mother and the man who is trying to sue her have some intense interactions as he blames her for his daughter being in a coma but she proves to him that it was not her fault. But, as the lead surgeon on duty and with the hospital trying to prevent a scandal that will generate bad reputation, she tries to hide the incident at first but then takes responsibility for it. The hospital director is just a crook who only thinks about the economic aspect and the hospital's reputation with a possible lawsuit instead of anything else and the 2 cops who investigate Yoon-oh's death are probably the worst cops in Korea by doing a very very poor investigation of the case.
Of all the characters, Mario and Yoon-oh's mother should be the 2 most important ones but he gets lost a bit thanks to a weak plot/scenario for his character and Yoon-oh's mother gets involved with the possible lawsuit and the hospital way more than she should. I mean, Peach tells her he can see and interact with Yoon-oh, she faints when Peach proves it by talking about the cat she adopted and then gave away because of her allergies and then, nothing... that topic is not touched again until the Christmas party when Yoon-oh sings on episode 10 and Peach tells her he is singing in front of her.

3) The finale: I get Yoon-oh had to leave but we never get the real reason of his deep sorrow, which is why I think it might have been a combination of all the 3 options I mentioned above. In the end, he just says "I love you" to Peach and without any goodbye, he just vanishes in thin air before being able to kiss Peach (for the third time on the series). Then, when Peach is in the now closed café, the kettle starts boiling out of nowhere which might signal that Yoon-oh came back or actually never left in the first place, but we never get a clear answer. The finale was a bit disappointing as big chunks of the last part of the episode were spent with Yoon-oh singing the same song twice, first at the party and later in front of the sea with Jimmy looking like he was about to freeze (they filmed in winter and both Jimmy and Tommy being from Thailand had to deal with snow and cold temperatures, something both were not very used to).

The movie version should come out at some point in 2022 and, if they follow all the previous Korean BL dramas, it will usually include a bit more scenes that were not included in the regular episodes due to time constraints. Hopefully, we get an extra scene with a bit more than just the kettle boiling, otherwise the finale will remain a bit disappointing.

In the end, the series had nice moments and I'm sure Jimmy and Tommy faced challenges when dealing with dialogues in Thai and Korean and also having to adapt to a mostly Korean production. Filming in a foreign country without dominating the language is always hard and it takes a lot of courage to do it. Sadly, the end product was just good but not great.

Leave much to be desired

I have a high expectation with this series since this was created by Korean producer, but this series let me down so bad. I am still glad to watch it as I discover how great Choi Jae Hyun is. I hope he get many projects after this.

Let me break down my review, beware it's long:

[STORY]
While the plot seems unique for BL, the love between supernatural being and mortal is nothing new and has been adapted in many movies and dramas. The supernatural elements in this series was not well executed and there were many glaring plot holes that made me lose focus on the story line. The ghost element was only used as plot device but the screenwriter was too lazy to construct the characterisation of the ghost itself. While fantasy drama did have more freedom for illogical things to happen, a set of boundaries and rules should be established in the realm to guide the viewers about the said fantasy element. And this series simply doesn't a give a shit about this and expect the viewers to accept many questionable things happen and pretend that was okay.

The most annoying plot holes here was no clear concept on how the ghost element implemented in real world. How is it possible that no one bat an eye with all the ghosts' shenanigans? Anyone should freak out when utensils float in the air or luge drive by itself, yet no bystander say a word about it. Peach was not even subtle when talking and showing PDA with Yoon Oh, yet no one questioned his sanity. It seems humans have well adjusted to cohabit together with ghost lol. This series never explained how the ghost's world works. the ghost literally can use and touch any solid object, like use utensils for eating, change clothes, keep the key, use facial mask for better skin, ride a luge. the ghost behave exactly like human and we are supposed to just take it in without any explanation. and if they don't have any problem to use and touch solid objects, they should be able to touch and communicate with other human, but nah

It was also not clear how the ghost cease to exist. Mario said that ghosts should resolve their sorrow before the 49th day so they can go to the other side and not become evil spirit. Yet Mario has been exist for 20+ years and neither Peach nor Yoon Oh question this anomaly ever lmao. Even after Mario found his peace, he was still around. Like how?? Why he can't go to the other side?

Finally, what's with that ending? At last, I am content that Yoon Oh can go to the better place. It is happy ending in my book, everyone getting their own peace and amend. But suddenly they have to ruin it by making it vague that Yoon Oh might be back. Like, what's the point? I thought I won't be disappointed in the last ep, and yet here we are.

[ACTING]
Yoon Oh and his mom are hand down the best part of this series. Their acting is so good and I like how their eyes can convey deep emotion as well. I feel like their talents kinda wasted here as I found the story a mess. I would rate 10.0 for them, but unfortunately Jimmy's acting was like a sore thumb. His acting was awkward and since he is the main character, it kinda ruined the moment.

The song choices are good but not really memorable.

[REWATCH VALUE]
This series managed to peeve me every episodes, so nope. I might rewatch YO's cuts only to appreciate his acting.

[OVERALL]
Might be enjoyable if u don't really care about the details. This series was beautiful if it was watched scene by scene, but there were just too many plot holes too ignore and the ending pissed me off.

Heart wrenchingly beautiful

As a lover of angst, this drama fullfilled that well. It had my heart aching almost every episode. It took me through a rollercoaster of emotions, tearing up and angry at times. The soundtrack was beautifully done as well. The acting of course was amazing, regardless of language barrier issues; I felt the connection between Peach and Yoon Oh intensely, as well as with Yoon Oh's mom. Jimmy and Tommy did a great job in their roles and i'm proud of them. Choi Jae-hyun definitely got my attention as Yoon Oh, enough to want to check out his other works. I don't give it a full 10 because Mario's storyline felt a bit incomplete to me, I needed to see more punishment for the person responsible for what happen to Yoon Oh and wish there was a bit more to the end like a flashforward but other than that I loved it.

May we know what happened in Phuket? hehehe...

To be very honest, I was sad with the ending. I have to watch another "feel good series" to uplift my spirit, so I'm okay now. hehehe... ( I watched 2Moons series by the way) I knew how this will end, but, I was hoping they will kinda' twist it a little (just like what happened to 'He's Coming to Me'), but NO it did not happen.

Well this is still perfect for me, the acting was superb. I can really really feel the emotions. Choi Jae Hyun really did well here, and now I'm watching Dalgona, hehe... The ending was sad, but not shocking, so at least it's fine. They were so in love right at the very end.

Now, here's what I need to know (hehehe...)
1. Is there a Season 2??? Whose bracelet was that? Who was boiling that water?
2. Please tell us, WHAT HAPPENED IN PHUKET? We need to how it all started, PLEASE!

Shall I watch again? NO (Because I have watched it more than 20 times now, I can even memorize some of the dialogues, so I think that's enough)
