I gave 6.5 for the message that the drama wants convey. We don't need to be rich or successful to be value human beings. We all are special for who we are. Nobody is better than others. In the end this message is really strong and my rating is improved because of that.
For the rest I enjoyed the first 4 episodes. They was funny and light but from the episode 5 I didn't enjoy the serie anymore. I think that the problem is the writing. A funny kdrama became sad and I love emotional scene but in this they appeared forced to me.
For the acting I want to mention Yoon Shi Yoon that like always is a talented actor.

Yoon Shi Yoon shines

This drama is very heartfelt. A story about growth and healing. It's very unique and very different from the norm. Yoon Shi Yoon is an impeccable actor and his character is extremely realistic. The entire drama is realistic and while the whole ethics of the profession is questionable, I felt the rest was very good and realistic.

Don't drop this due to the ratings but it's genuinely quite good and I might have teared up a little towards the end. The whole thing wasn't about being a better person but accepting you're beautiful and lovable regardless which I thought was so beautiful and healthy in so many ways. It also talks about important topics like Anxiety, Depression, Self esteem and the pressure of being masculine in this society. Love it.

Could have been better.

I think the story had potential to be way better. It felt like the script was struggling to make sense. I was hoping for a strong comedy with a side of romance. But it was more emotional and almost depressing. The actors were not bad in their roles. Maybe my expectations were high or this drama sure fall flat.

Heartwarming story of personal growth

This worked really well for me as a chronicle of the ML's personal growth. He was such a lovable guy that my heart ached to see him suffering so much, and I was so invested in watching him work on overcoming his anxiety and self esteem issues. The show did a good job balancing its comedic and dramatic moments. I also liked how the drama focused primarily on him changing his mindset rather than his circumstances and that his happy ending didn't come from making lots of money of getting a super fancy career. I'm not sure I 100% buy into the leads as having some great love story (it didn't help that time that could have been spent developing their relationship was wasted on an engagement misdirect between the FL and the second ML near the end) but I did enjoy watching them bond as they worked to solve his ED together and I was convinced the FL had also engaged in some much needed personal growth over the course of the series.

MUST WATCH KDRAMA

The drama is perfect pitch of real-life situations. This drama thought me that you don't need a-lot of money to earn happiness but doing what you really love is the one that gives us genuine happiness. Somehow I feel like the producers rush the story of this drama or make it short. I feel like I needed more of this since it gives me genuine happiness, the songs are awesome too. It made me realize that depression is a serious issue, and must be address. For the people who feel down or feel hopeless in life, remember you're brave for reaching this far. I did experience being hopeless and lifeless my eyes are dead looking but when I meet this woman; my heart started to beat and made me realize that if I will end this now how would I know if I have the chance. Don't get hook by negative reviews. This drama is gold and would re-watch it again,. cheers! ❤

Yoon Shi Yoon carried this show!

This was a unique Rom-Com that had me intrigued from the first episode with a unique, fresh angle than other Rom-Coms. Usually, the FL is the underdog, with a “Cinderella” story, with a ML as Prince or if not, the ML is a surprise Chaebol. In this case, Do Yong Shik, wonderfully depicted by Yoon Shi Yoon, is the tragic ML. The FL is the affluent, capable urologist who treats Yong Shik’s condition. The first episode really grabs your attention with all of the not-so-subtle visual metaphors to erectile dysfunction….I was laughing so hard (no pun intended, ahem).

Unfortunately, after the set-up with the first two episodes, things went south IMO, due to my medical background kicking in. I really had a problem with the lack of ethics with the FL urologist taking the bet with her ex? boyfriend/colleague psychiatrist on the ML being cured of ED within a month due to their childish pride or whatever. Even the FL’s sister chastised her about it. Also, the psychiatrist looked at Yong Shik’s medical records BEFORE she asked him to consult with her about it (ethical violation). Then, when Yong Shik decided he was too embarrassed after unknowingly having his first love give him a rectal exam (preposterous to begin with because a doctor would’ve properly introduced herself prior to the “drop your pants” situation, but I had to let it go in realizing they were setting up the comedic value)…ML goes to the psychiatrist (unknowing he’s her boyfriend) and he sets up the poor ML with a “urology consult”, giving FL his full history WITHOUT HIS CONSENT! At this point I’m yelling at the screen, “you can sue them”, asking myself, are there HIPPA laws in Korea? There are so many other instances of unethical medical practices that Yong Sik could’ve just reported them, sued them and started making money from that….

Then, when FL and ML get romantic, ML sees her phone ringing with the psychiatrist ex-boyfriend on the screen and flinches and backs off, feels insecure again, and she pouts like a whiny B! First of all, she is his urologist (shouldn’t have been though, conflict of interest) and she crossed the line by getting sexual with him (and ML even says “they crossed the line”) She still pouts and rants about him later. They all know that he has anxiety issues and PTSD and low self esteem, but FL acts petty and so does the 2nd ML psychiatrist.
The only redeeming female characters were, ironically, “Jennifer” the Transgender Shaman best friend of the ML and the FL’s sister.
Yoon Shi Yoon carried the show! His acting was phenomenal. To portray the anguish and embarrassment that the ML had to go through….I had to do a double take before I realized he was the ML from “Flower Boy Next Door” (they even alluded to “flower boy thing is not popular anymore”, LOL).
This is the first romance k-drama where I actually would’ve been okay with the ML ending up with not the FL, but her sister (who showed more morality and maturity) or someone else. I wasn’t really invested in FL. In the end, it was really Yong Shik that helped himself overcome his fears (which is a great message for anyone trying to overcome similar issues) and it was Yoon Shi Yoon who carried this story.

does colour have gender?

●PLOT VIEW
So the synopsis sounded extraordinary, After so many cliche storylines in recent dramas. After watching and analyzing it I think it was a cliche drama but the background of the storyline had a bold approach. It was then a simple story where a top student is stuck in life and all his batchmates have achieved success. After meeting his first love he slowly and steadily gains self-confidence.
It was scripted beautifully. Especially the PINK obsession plotline was my favorite. It was so beautiful that I rewatched the scene of confrontation repeatedly. Both the doctor's approach towards the patient was a bit personal which didn’t fit the professional ethics.

●ACTING/CAST
Yoon Shi Hoon nailed his character of an unsuccessful person. His hair and overweight personality was best portrayed. He really delivered his acting well during the whole 8 episodes of the show!
Hani's acting was so so, but it's okay though.

●REWATCH
Yes, I would watch this real soon. And it is short so I could binge this in one sitting

●RECOMMENDATION
If you like dramas with bold concepts but still heartwarming. This drama should be then added to your PTW.

●APPRECIATION
The story is unique, And somehow educational. Many people don't know about this kind of difficulty and I love how the cast portrays their emotions.

●FAV SCENE
PINK blow-up scene.

Binge-worthy with a timely life lesson

This is the first kdrama this year that I’ve watched every episode in one sitting. Its 8 ep run is very entertaining and the story was wrapped perfectly.

Yoon Shi Yoon shines as the main protagonist with a very low self esteem. His portrayal was so convincing and was just right for me not get annoyed with all the self-pity of the character. He’s such a good actor that I kept rooting for Do Yong Shik all through out. Yoon Shi Yoon was still able to embody a character that is so loveable (Some of my faves from him are Enrique in Flower Boys Next Door and Da Bong in Hit the Top). It was the first time I was introduced to Ahn Hee Yeon. She had good chemistry with Yoon Shin Yoon. I love the facial reactions she made while portraying Lee Ru Da.

The plot was unique and tackles a relatively sensitive topic for a “conservative” people. There was a double meaning with the title “You Raise Me Up”. It was not only talking about the main character’s erectile dysfunction but also how he was able to develop confidence and self-love through the series. It has a timely message for some who had doubts due to the pandemic right now.

The music in this drama was great. Gonna check them out.

All in all, it was binge-worthy. And, it delivers a heart-warming message to everyone. To always believe in oneself and not to judge other people. Also, to find happiness even in little things. :)

NOT BAD BUT NOT GOOD by kim jisoo

Firstly it was kind of boring. The start was pretty good, bit weird. I would say, well the whole concept is weird. When it continued then it became boring. It was like a typical drama where they suddenly part their ways, and then they regret it, and became sad.
PLOT TWIST
Well i would say it shocked me because i was expecting it that it would be like every drama with the same plot twist. Well it wasn't anything special or something like that but It was surprisingly sweet. She just pretended that she doesn't like him. And she wanted him to come to her and that's what i liked so much.
ACTING
Well I wouldn't say that it was bad or something like that but sometimes the acting didn't feel so real.

Great short and precise drama♥

I finished this charming, short and precise drama last night (45 minutes each episode). It is written in the content and in the title that it is a comedy, it is true that it has comedic situations, at the same time it touches on sensitive issues of body and mind. (Impotence, society's/family's attitude to achievements, lack of self-fulfillment due to social judgment, and more)

* It has healing and recovery, support and sincere and sensitive love.

* Great soundtrack (I've already downloaded it to spotify)

* Perfect casting and acting

* I enjoyed it very much - I recommend it with love♥

Thank you, the series amused, interested... educated?

Brave plot for the sexual problem of the main protagonist, but I liked the development of the characters, the shift. Not only with YongSik and RuDa, but also with JiHyuk. Yoon Shi Yoon perfectly handled the character's character and Hani also showed the talent hidden in her. Choi Dae Hoon, his positive character really suited him, I would like to see him like this more often in the future. Thank you, the series amused, interested... educated?

Watch the drama before you judge

The story content is quite new to me, frankly it's quite embarrassing to watch in the first place, this is what I fear of, after reading the synopsis and title. However I started to feel relax as the story move on. All I can say is, this is a good drama.

From the acting, you can throw your worry and doubt away as every Yoon Shi Yoon's dramas are good as hell. He need to drop a lot of tears in here, and I was affected by that too. You would want to act like a protective MAMA and hug him. As for Hani, I've never seen her acting before but she play the role natural and smooth. Park Ki Woong is as cool as always, I couldn't judge his acting as his role in here was somehow playing a cold character. In addition, the character "Jennifer" was quite fun. She is a good friend and buddy for the ML, and that brings up the fun to the audience too..

As for the story, I think it will be a good opportunity to encourage and comfort those who faced the same problem as ML did. What so embarrassed and scared of being find out our obsession? Was there a rules that telling the men couldn't be fond of the color pink? It's just depends on you, no one can change them. Next, the story quite pointed out the problem for some men that are facing it. A lot of people were getting inspirited and losing their self-esteem because of it. We shouldn't judge and give the harsh opinions before understanding how they feel, how they went through the suffocation.

Overall, this is a good drama to watch, and it's a shame that the drama is underated. These are all my own opinions, just as my headline saying, watch the drama before you judge.
