quick explanation why you should watch
So I will begin by saying that the comments here are very 'this would have been good if-' type of thing. I just finished this movie and won't beat around a bush. The ending was both predictable and you wouldn't see it coming at the same time. All in all it was not completely satisfying to make you lose all the built up suspense that is why many people blame ending for this. I wish it ended different but I am also amazed by how different ending it was compared to other movies. Usually they drop the suspense by ending and decide to ether make it happy or unhappy one, but this movie kept the suspense going until last seconds.I try not to put out any spoilers out here because I hope this will be the reason why you decide to watch this instead of listening to others and not give it a shot. This lowkey became one of my favorite asians movies AND I AM GLAD I WATCHED IT WITH LIGHTS ON. This is one of creepiest movies I seen, it was well executed and always kept the right atmosphere on.
Did you see movie Grave Encounters? It will have similar moments from there which I honestly love because it takes traits from The Stone Tape theory and more.

Gonjiam but with a psychic trapped inside
Unoriginal, almost effortless visuals, just your typical pale gray black-eyed long-haired ghosts giving their victims spine-tingling back and shoulder massages. Plot-wise, the only unique concept was the psychic being able to time travel through the haunting events of the center and being able to exorcise the victims of that time frame. But most of it was much like Gonjiam with a boss ghost and your occasional possessions here and there. It was predictable despite its inception-esque concept and honestly a bit boring for my taste. Was this review helpful to you?
Worthy-watch!
the thing about those horror movies with cliché plots it's not to expect that much, but also do not underrate before watching. personally i did not saw many jumpscares, but i was tense the whole movie – which means it's serving the right purpose.the story can get you a little confused during the movie because of the different timelines, but everything gets tied by the end (for me, at least). i get why people compare Guimoon to Gonjiam, but besides being similar when it comes to place setting, the history here tries to have a little more development with the shaman and her son.

One big, missed opportunity.
I was quite excited to watch it. Waited till late night to get the right atmosphere and get the best possible experience. 15 minutes in I started to become extremely sleepy, and it was not because I was tired. Kim Kang Woo is stunning, but his beautiful face is not enough to keep me engaged, when all I see on screen is him walking around the building with a flashlight.I am truly impressed how such a short movie that also has so many different tropes, time lines, and plot elements, can be this boring. The plot twists were predictable, the story told in a messy way, the protagonist was a massive idiot that truly did only one thing right.
They tried to be creative, giving a twist to the typical “black haired girl ghost” story, but it was so ridiculous, it did not work out - especially with this execution.
The design for the ghosts and scares was mediocre at best, simple copy paste of what we saw in other movies. Basically a snapchat ghost filter.
They did not use the place for their advantage - could have presented the place as a claustrophobic loop, but I never felt that.
Kim Kang Woo did a good job acting wise, but the rest of the cast was just comical. The screams that are so important in horror movies, mostly sounded like free stock audio.
To sum it up, it felt like they had an interesting idea, but no clue how to present it.
