Bon Voyage!
Before i get into details, overall i thought this was a pretty cute drama that you can easily binge.I really enjoyed the format of broadcasting 4x a week and then uploading all episodes to YouTube at the end of the week. Some weeks i watched every night and others I binged the 4 on Friday. There was something really fun about this that kept me excited about what was going to happen next. Also to watch bts videos and other content on YouTube with the actors really hyped me up for it. I think if I were to watch it now that it has all aired, it would be completely different experience. Maybe easier to toss it aside as there is less mystery.
The concept of the story was interesting, but I think the execution could've been done better. The mystery of Sobue is stretched out a little too long imo, but I guess that's the whole point of the show? I think the story did a good job of balancing serious issues with fun moments.
A lot of the actors are young and/or new so you can't expect that it's going to be award-winning performance. BUT, i think this helps them really capture the youthfulness and simple happiness that young people can experience, all while addressing real and imminent issues they may face in life. I'm really curious to see the work these actors are going to create next!
The music is catchy, and you'll find yourself humming 僕の生きがい a lot while watching this drama.
Rewatch value is high-ish; short episodes mean you could easily be enticed to watching it again.
I think it's a classic teen drama where everyone can relate to some aspect and come out of it feeling hopeful for future adventure!

Second lead syndrome no more
I love the build up in the start with Izumi & Noji and i really they would end up together, until the director decides to just twist the story for Izumi. All of the buildups and the cute scenes is just wasted and Noji is just suffering all of the consequences of Izumi insecurities after all the hardwork he did.
Nevertheless if they focus more on Noji & Izumi relationship this story would turn out more better since they will solve their problems together.
I hope that they will not keep this kind of plot as a trend and bring good lesson to youths

I recently created a private list on MyDramalist for dramas and movies I want to watch with my future children (if God ever brings such a blessing to my life), and after finishing this charming little series, I definitely have to add it.This is a short-length drama about friendship and young love and finding your courage. It's hopeful and eager and earnest, both in its characters and subject matters. You'll definitely like everyone, and the way the plotlines play out on screen is very thoughtful and realistic. These are characters I would want my future kids to see, as they are a great example of how to handle conflict and disappointment while still being very much young and working through their emotions. The story also touches on some deeper themes such as bullying and self-isolation without being too dark or depressing. There's obviously a place and time for more gritty stories around these subject matters, but I'm glad this was something more lighthearted and youthful with very hopeful messages. And as a nice little touch, the opening sequence changes periodically showcasing all of our high schoolers in various locations at school with little nods to events that have transpired in the story. It was almost its own bit of storytelling, and I looked forward to each change.
If you enjoy youthful stories with lots of heart and not too much drama, I recommend this one, for teens and adults. It will warm your heart.
