Underwhelming, but had its cute moments

I wonder if I'd have enjoyed this more if I'd watched it before I saw Legend of the Blue Sea and My Amazing Boyfriend. LOTBS was so similar to this one in its parallel characters/storylines, while My Amazing Boyfriend (China) is based on the same alien premise (even though the plot is different)—and so everything that happened in this show felt unsurprising.

I really liked Song-Yi. She's advertised as arrogant, and the first episode makes her come across as dumb, but throughout the drama she was surprisingly able to think on her feet, not to mention that she was an absolute SAVAGE, which I loved. But one huge downside for her was that SHE HAD NO ACTIVE ROLE IN THE ACTION PLOTLINE. This meant that everything dangerous and adventurous was happening without her knowledge, and her role was reduced to the girl who pined for Do Min-Joon and needed saving from the bad guys. I had been really looking forward to how her badass personality would help scheme against the antagonists, and it was really disappointing when she didn't at all, and instead spent all her time freaking out about Min-Joon.

In fact, overall I felt like the action plot was kind of underwhelming? The climax didn't really feel like the climax to me and it was solved pretty easily, especially since our main female lead never really got involved.

Do Min-Joon and Song-Yi had really adorable and heart-fluttering moments, which I loved, but when it came to the more melodramatic and serious parts of the romantic plot, I found myself annoyed and thinking that the characters were overreacting and crying too much. Good acting, but unnecessary. This is especially because it felt a little repetitive when a lot of the romantic plot was Min-Joon not being honest about his situation—understandable, but frustrating to watch.

For the second leads: I wouldn't exactly say I had second lead syndrome, but he was such an intriguing character—more intriguing than the main leads, and I felt so bad I wished he would end up with the girl because he treated Song-Yi so damn well. Se-Mi was a different story; I was constantly annoyed by her presence and honestly, I couldn't see the point of her other than to be the annoying third wheel. I was more intrigued by that bookstore lady.

I've been hesitating for two years in order to watch this show after my friend told me how it was a boring experience for her, saying that the only things she liked about it were the final episode and shin sung rok's acting ((The main villain)), even though I am the type of person who doesn't get swayed easily by the opinion of others this definitely made me feel some type of way so I put it aside, but finally I decided to watch it and let me tell you the fact that it didn't disappoint so lets start with the things I liked about this show:
1) The music was absolutely beautiful and it fit the mood they're trying to convey very well, turning me from excited to sad in 5 minutes
2) The acting in general, from the amazing chemistry between the two main leads to the phenomenal acting of the main villain (( he genuinely gave me the creeps ))
3) the story was good, with a very easy to grasp premise and some of the scenes were heart fluttering while other made me tear up
Things that I disliked:
There is nothing much to say in here expet the fact that it was a bit draggy in some cases but nothing big
In conclusion :
you should watch this show, each episode gets better than the one before, the actors were very good, the music was fantastic, and the villain's acting was bone chilling

Everyone knows that feeling when they find a work of entertainment perfect. Whether it be a video game, a book, or movie. Sometimes you find something that roots in your heart and makes you believe that it was made for you.

While I have not been watching kdramas for long, this one was one of the few that turned out like that for me. I fell in love with this one, very easily. I was captivated from the beginning and it kept me there the whole time.

Watching this drama, I absolutely fell in love with Jun Ji Hyun's character. At first she is kind of bitchy and annoying, but then you really get to know her as the story progresses. As the story progressed, I found a smile on me face every time she was on the screen.

This was done by the phenomenal acting in this drama. Everyone killed their performance, so I was really pulled in the whole time. I found meself rooting for the leads, booing the villains, and most of all crying when I felt the hurt of the characters.

I'm truly grateful that I got to watch something so beautiful in me lifetime.

I highly recommend this drama.

I watched this because of my friend's recommendation, and what can I say? I have no regret AT ALL!! Jung Ji Hyun brought me so much joy watching this, her acting was pure hilarious!! The actor continuously being so gorgeous didn't hurt either LOL. The only thing disappointed is the ending, I think they can make it a little bit better, they have a great story as a whole after all. However, it's still a happy ending though. For those who like goofy hilarious female character and a cool type guy I highly recommend you to watch this!

Story- This story revolves around an alien who will be leaving earth soon, he has made all his plans and choices until he met Cheong Song Yi. This leaves you wanting more , because will he leave her? And millions of untold questions, wanting more. It also adds a murder story which makes you want to watch more.

Characters- The characters all have a personality. Cheong Song Yi being sassy, cute, over dramatic, and is an airhead(In a good way). Do min joon, a guy who is cold hearted, secretly sensible, and full of mysteries.

Side characters- Se Mi has a compelling story about her love. Cheong song yi's boyfriend loves her so much even though he'll never have that chance. It shows a unique way of teaching others the hardship. The murder was really good at acting too. Cheong Song Yi's mother was good at being the gold digger. Her brother was a funny character, secretly making sure no one makes fun of Song Yi.

Ost- I loved Hello Goodbye. You were my destiny was beautiful. Nothing more to say about this beautiful song.

Romance- The romance feels so alive, the chemistry with Do Min Joon and Song Yi was well played and energetic.

Comedy- This show brings out the fun side too. Full of laughs and comedy.

Enjoyment- Full of surprises, unexpected plot twist, laugh your butt off comedy, and romance packed in a heartwarming drama. I have watched this 3 times, since I have more to go.

And to think I didn't like Fantasy

This drama really surprised me. It's been on my Watchlist for a long time largely because although it's highly rated and raved about, I'm not really into Fantasy. It's also an older drama and I thought that would turn me off. Finally, I do know the ML and the SFL and SML, but I'd never seen anything with the FL in it before.

Well, it turns out this was far better than I could have imagined. The Fantasy is corny/cheesy, but it works with the plot and they've managed to make it kind of humourous...almost like they're poking fun of it themselves. This is a 2013/2014 drama, but it really doesn't "feel" that old. Also, in spite of "knowing" several of the characters, it was the FL who I didn't know at all that helped me to sustain my interest in this drama. She is hilarious! Living through Covid (albeit the tail end of it), I don't get a lot of chances to laugh. The FL's antics helped in this regard for sure! I really liked her character.

I'm not crazy about the ending of this. Finding out the screenwriter also wrote CLOY, it makes sense. In fact, I suppose the ending does make sense, but I always prefer a more succinct, final ending. Nevertheless, looking at the reviews for that final episode reveals I'm in the minority. Most people think it's perfect...and I guess it kind of is.

This is a really good drama that holds up well and will make you laugh...and even cry a bit.

A classic

A story about an alien and a a list actress, she is quirky, funny and absolutely crazy. He is cold, introverted and over her antics. One of my favorite scenes are her offering him her shoes after thinking he has a shoe fetish or that he wants to wear them. Fl use of English is funny af "soooorry, excuse me" . For me this drama balanced ligh heated comedy, romance and angst because in the last episodes I cried my eyes out. Also the historical part were so good and the connection between past and present was well done.

This is the very first korean drama that I've watched and I must say that it set the expectation bar so high for others.

STORY:
I gave it a 9.5/10 because it was just A+ for me. The alien stuff weren't too overboard which I really liked since I am not really a fan of that genre. The progression of the story was perfect - it was neither slow or fast. It provided just enough tension to keep me wanting more!

ACTING/CAST:
I can't really comment on the acting as I've only watched Kim Soo-hyun and Jun Ji-hyun just once but I must say that they are really good in internalizing their characters on screen. They were really good in playing their parts, especially Jun Ji-hyun! I really thought she added more flair to the show. Plus, their chemistry was off the roof! It's as if they're dating in real life (I wish though!).

MUSIC:
I have no problem with the music. The soundtrack that the producers have chosen are fit for the scenes. Did I mention that I still catch myself singing the theme music every now and then?!

REWATCH VALUE:
If you were to ask me if I'll watch this again, I would say yes! I know there are some heavy scenes here and there but this is really a feel good drama for me. I'll probably watch it when I'm feeling down or sad to lift my mood.

OVERALL:

I guess this is a best way to introduce myself to the world of k-dramas because it never disappointed me! I loved it overall and I would definitely recommend this to everyone!

This is a fable, more than a show. It's simply adorable (though I was more interested in the main storyline than the subplots).
The all-star cast is incredible, too (even secondary characters are played by popular actors).
MVP, though, in my humble opinion is Jun Ji Hyun, an amazing actress: beautiful, classy and, most of all, capable of giving great performances regardless of the material she's given, from drama to comedy in a bit!
Strongly suggested to whoever is looking for something funny, deep and romantic at the same time, with a supernatural touch.

The time when all the people in my country were so crazy about this drama and I am the few of the people who didn't get interested in this drama but I tried to watched this after liking Park Hae Jin but the outcome before and now didn't change. I tried to finished this for the sake of Park Hae Jin but sorry I can't.

Reason why I didn't liked it
1.typical kdrama romcom
2.no character development
3.the story didn't have solid development
4.100% lovestory

IT'S BETTER IF
The plot its about celebrity I Hoped they added some backstory about being a celebrity-the hardship, struggle, painful, up and down of being a celebrity.
I also want to see the celebrity and manager relationship the struggle they experience after a failure.

Honestly I didn't liked the character of the male lead..he looked stiff and too perfect to me that why I didn't find him interesting character.hehe..

In fairness, this has a unique plot, at least HE's an alien.. Unlike in "Time Traveller's Wife" (hollywood movie) don't know what kind of creature he is hehehe..

Anyway, This has a great exection only because of the lead actress (sorry Im too slow for Korean names, hehehe)... and that's HER ONLY... she, drags this story to the top.... I know for sure, because she's a veteran and filmed in Hollywood already (that's why), so I trust her acting..... I felt sorry for her, because she has a "weak acting" partner, seemingly looks frustrating kinda "come on, please match my acting!!"...

I think this was only on top, because of KSH's tons of fans, and that's it.....

But then again, I heard they really convinced the lead actress to really accept this role... Well, I just find a few uninteresting scenes and find it boring......

But over all, it's good... I was entertained, ONLY because of the lead actress.... But Im not re-watching it again....
