king & queen of micro-expressions!!

something quietly new and unexpected about this revenge story. things are not what they seem. i find it very promising and intriguing! there is this feeling of unreliability about what we’re shown which makes it all exciting to interpret. props for not making it easy to unravel. its like a classic revenge story with some unexpected small twists on it.

bai lu’s ye li is also like that, a classic archetype that doesnt quite fit what we expect and is all the better for it.

i just want cheng lei to be given more to work with because his part of this leaves me wanting more. given its just the start i think we will get it!

anyway i have complete faith in this! two amazing actors paired in an intriguing romantic plot, what more could you ask for? as long as the writing throughout is good, we are off to the races.

ahhhh im so excited, this is my most anticipated drama since I started watching dramas

Can't wait to watch this drama!

10/10 ⭐

The First Jasmine is a beautifully crafted drama that has exceeded my expectations in every way. Even though it is still airing, it has already captivated me with its emotional storytelling, engaging plot, and meaningful character development.

A special mention goes to Bai Lu and Cheng Lei, who delivered exceptional performances. Bai Lu once again showcased her versatility, portraying her character with both strength and vulnerability, while Cheng Lei brought depth, charm, and sincerity to his role. Their chemistry feels natural and believable, making every interaction memorable and emotionally impactful.

The cinematography, costumes, and soundtrack are all beautifully done, creating an immersive atmosphere that perfectly complements the story. The supporting cast also does an excellent job, adding layers and richness to the drama.

What I appreciate most is how the drama balances romance, emotions, and character development without feeling overly dramatic or repetitive. So far, every episode has contributed meaningfully to the story and continues to keep me invested in the characters' journey.

Although the drama has not finished airing yet, it has already become one of my favorites. With a compelling story, stunning production, and outstanding performances from Bai Lu and Cheng Lei, it currently deserves a 10/10. Highly recommended! 🌸✨

Even if its not complete. You know its a good drama! ✨️

Bai Lu is so amazing, talented, and good actress

Perfectly paced and an amazing story !!!

Watched only 6 episodes and already invested in this.. Can't wait to see what the other episodes bring to us! Don't know why many people are saying that this is slow paced, it is the best pace they can provide to us for a 40 episode drama....Hoping this pace continues 加油 :)
Don't know why this is not getting its fame as it deserves ig bcz of Bai Lu internet rumors thing ig..
Can't wait to see what secrets are hiding in the Linshan Academy story thing, and how the ML will try to cure the hallucinations the FL sees...

The First Jasmine (2026) — Review

The First Jasmine has been a delightful surprise, drawing me in immediately through its rich historical setting and the powerful performances of the leads in these early episodes. Bai Lu completely embodies Ye Li with a compelling blend of poise, cleverness, and subtle resilience. Her portrayal feels authentic and layered, making every quiet decision and emotional shift captivating to follow.

Cheng Lei excels as Mo Xiu Yao, bringing a strong yet vulnerable presence that adds real gravity to his character. He conveys so much through restrained expressions and steady intensity, perfectly complementing Bai Lu. Their evolving relationship crackles with intriguing tension, mutual respect, and moments of warmth that make their interactions stand out.

The ensemble cast does an excellent job fleshing out the intricate web of court politics and family loyalties, creating constant undercurrents of suspense.

Visually, the drama is a feast exquisite costumes with beautiful detailing, grand yet atmospheric sets, and elegant cinematography that transports you straight into the period. The OST heightens emotions, perfectly syncing with both dramatic and reflective scenes.

What makes it even more engaging is how performances and production blend seamlessly every scene feels carefully crafted, from the smallest gestures to the sweeping visuals. It’s a drama that rewards attention and keeps you anticipating what’s next.

Overall, this drama is a captivating watch so far.

To Be Continued...

I just love everything about this series! The drama does not follow the entirety of the original novel but you will love it nonetheless. The cinematography and color grading is superb. If you're looking for a drama, romance, action and a bit of suspense/horror feel, you're in luck coz this drama has it all. Watch so you can find out 😏

Intriguing story line

Done watching til Ep. 9. Can't help but to buy wetv express because each episode got me hook and can't wait till all episodes are released. I have a lot of questions and theories in mind especially about Lishan Academy and how Ye Li survived in the mountains alone?? I also need to see some theories of other viewers, maybe we have the same questions and all.

Bath Emperor Era Continues ?

Honestly this drama already exceeded my expectations 🥰 The story is so interesting and unpredictable, and I really like how smart and strong the FL is. Bai Lu is doing such a great job with the character, and Cheng Lei is also amazing. There’s no romance yet, but their chemistry is really good and it already feels like he’s starting to become interested in her 👀 And yes… the bath emperor is officially back 😅

A fresh, unique C-drama that breaks away from the same recycled storylines.

You guys don't know how much I love this drama. Initially, I thought it wouldn't be for me because I usually don't enjoy slow-paced dramas, but this one completely proved me wrong. It's slow-paced, yet every episode is engaging and keeps me entertained.

What I love most is that I genuinely have no idea where the story is heading. In most dramas, I can predict the plot and even the ending within the first five episodes, but this one feels completely different. It's refreshing to watch something so unique.

The acting is absolutely top-notch. Every actor delivers such a strong performance that it almost feels like a competition to see who can act better. Yeli, played by Bai Lu, is the heart of this drama. Her character is incredibly well-written, complex, and compelling in a way that many drama characters aren't.

I honestly think this is going to become one of my all-time favorite dramas. I enjoy it far more than dramas like Pursuit of Jade and Ashes to Crown. In my opinion, those dramas relied on recycled storylines and became popular largely because of their visuals, whereas this drama stands out because of its storytelling, characters, and performances.

So Far So Good

So many dramas this year are trying too hard to make a good drama. I haven't been too lost in this one, but the story line could be a bit better. I'm not a fan of skipping backwards and forwards on a timeline. Thankfully my newest bias, Lin Mu Ran, has finally shown up in this drama. Those dimples speak to me and those eyes are definitely wonderful to see. He appears as an assassin, but not a very serious one so far. Of course I love the FL and ML and the action in it has kept me watching. It's not dragging out scenes. I'm writing this review sooner than most. Nothing can beat Pursuit Of Jade, but this drama beats most of the ones presented this year. Happy watch!
