all to their own opinions ;

............... I like Have have no words to describe this ....... Phenomenal , Amazing , Breath taking , funny , thrilling ..... thats only a few words that could describe this drama for me ...

Like just WOW ! I love the cast and there acting was so perfect . Its my 14 time re-watching this drama ...i know right , I am addicted ..... well it had comedy , and mystery really well put together , some cases were solved in every episodes and some weren't . I would recommend this to detective lovers that are ok with fantasy elements . It was a fresh take on the detective series and thats why I think I fell in love with it the first time I watched it ..And any one who is looking for some light comedy :)

PS : I know , some people just look at review and are like this person is probably crazy just giving it 10 ... and read others and never end up watching the drama ...well for this one PLEASE GIVE IT A TRY , if you don't want to watch the whole first episode, just watch the first part of it ...! Hope you enjoy :)

To be honest, I was kind of disappointed with this drama, because with such an interesting main story they really didn't do much to develop it. That being said, I think Oh Ji Eun did a pretty good job acting as Ha Sun Woo and Han Na Young. Each mystery was interesting enough to keep me watching every episode and even though some were really good, there was a certain point in the middle of the show I started to get bored, because at times I felt like I was just watching filler (Han Na Young getting jealous and wanting to go shopping?) when they could have been developing the main story. They just kept on showing the same ol' flashbacks for the longest time. The last few episodes were pretty good, but I didn't really like (or get) the ending. I felt there were too many things left unexplained, such as his power to use his blood as a weapon against demons, how he got the blade, and more about his old partner. Especially since, I mainly started watching for Baek Sung Hyun (who did a pretty good job playing *****)

I finished this one after months and months on my on hold list. I also debated, with myself, whether I should even bother writing a review or not since there is only one thing I really want to say and repeat over and over. But for the sake of reviewing, I'm adding two, maybe one, sentences more. Short review ahead.

This drama had all the elements, in theory, to become one of my favorites. It's supernatural themed, it had action, and the effects while not mind blowing awesome were pretty decent. But it failed to make it into my top list of awesome dramas I just have to watch now!

The dialogue... It seemed like they were reading their lines from cue cards the writers were holding up for them. There was no feeling/emotion behind the lines. I just couldn't care less about what happened in each episode. While the action was alright, I felt sleepy all through out the drama. Which basically means the acting was definitely not good and the actors failed to make their characters come alive.

How can an action packed supernatural drama about a ghost seeing detective be so frigging boring?!?!?! How? It's just beyond me.

Also, the OST didn't help.

Oh, look! It was more than 2 sentences.

I'll take the liberty to write a review about this, even though crime dramas aren't my forte. Cheo Yong had everything in the book to be amazing, 10 episodes later i'm still wondering why the result was THIS lackluster... Shall we find out together?

Story
Your very, very basic police procedural. Cop + partner team up to solve murder cases. They tossed the ghost concept in there to make it original, or more interesting but they failed. Don't expect to be scared or thrilled because the drama is just a typical police procedural. I feel that the drama aspired to be CSI meets Supernatural but it couldn't pull it off.

First 2 episodes are great in setting the tone, the base story and backstory. Episodes 3-8 have an episodic format, episode and different case. I expected those episodes to reduce themselves in soulless cases but usually procedural dramas come with kickass, amazing episodic plots that keep you on the edge for the whole episode. I don't know if this was just me not being a fan of police dramas, but the cases here were extremely tedious. All of them tried to be unpredictable and i could see the punch line when they wanted me to go *wow* but i felt nothing. There was no build-up for that climax to make an impact so it always left me uninterested. Last 2 episodes explore the backstory that was introduced in the first 2 episodes. Not bad, but the ship had already sailed by that moment... too little too late.

I blame everything mostly on the boring dialogs. It wasn't that the cast were acting like reading lines, it was that the lines themselves were unisprired... 75 minutes per episode need some inspirational dialogs to keep me going because my pillow is too fluffy and i tend to doze off fast!

The drama introduced several superntural concepts like human blood injuring ghosts, and other special/magic weapons ect that were never explained. Poor plot development overall

Another major problem i faced was the ridiculous and infuriating camera work. Apparently the cameraman was either drunk or seriously high. I can totally see how it was fun for him to zoom in and out x50 a thousand times during a scene, i would have laughed too had i been there, but me watching it, i felt dizzy and irritated and i couldn't even focus on the conversations.

The budget was overall, obviously very tight and the whole cinematography was pretty basic too. 10 episodes 8 different cases and i remember none right now while i can easily recall cases from other police dramas i watched in the past. The drama was good for cheap entertainment but there are far better dramas of the same genre out there.

Acting
Had its problems but not that bad either. The main cast was pretty solid but not memorable. Oh Ji Ho was good enough, but pretty forgettable and felt like he didn't put any effort in his work -his fighting scenes were mediocre at best. Same goes for Oh Ji Eun, i barely remember her face. Jeon Hyosung was the only memorable actor in this, not because her acting was impeccable but because her character was the most likeable one.

The supporting cast was mediocre to bad with no enjoyable performance whatsoever.

Recommend/Rewatch
I will never rewatch this of course, i regret finishing it to be honest. I could only recommend this to police procedural fans who know what to expect. This is not your average kdramas, no romance ect. It wasn't bad but there are better similar dramas out there.

As much of a supernatural/crime/mystery fan I am, I really didn't like this. The beginning threw in a scene without any full explanation. Cheo Yong character and his ability was never explained. It starts out giving you the impression of one type of story but then it morphs into stories as the title suggests. I think it would have been more effective had it stayed that way. There were some really good stories that were here and there. Other times, I couldn't begin to tell you what the episode was about. And the final 2 episode had so much going, you had to sift through to understand. But be assured, at the end, you still have no clue why Cheo Yong is the way he is. Some people may like this but if I have to spend too much time trying understand the last hour, it's not worth the time. Season 2, I officially quit you.

There has been mixed review with this drama and I could totally understand, however- despite what people may say, this drama is definitely worth a watch!

Story
It started off spectacularly! The thriller and suspense/mystery were done so well that it had me hooked right from the start! It starts off with a mystery right off the bat which was great since it didn't drag on from the start. However- nearing the middle and end; that is where it slightly goes downhill. I felt like the drama was dragging on despite only 10 episodes. The reason being is because I felt like they were using fillers instead of developing the main story.

What I mean from that is that I wanted to see more murders being solved with the help of Na Yeong (the ghost), however it felt like the filler episodes contained more of her possessing Ha Sun Woo just to get out of the police station and experience a care-free life such as shopping or drinking soju.

That was the cons of this drama; as it didn't really mention or further went into depth with other plot devices- as I wanted to learn more about Cheo Yong's blood ability, about his past, or how he even managed to possess or find the special knife. I found that there were several plot holes that didn't explain some of the things in the drama very well.

Despite the problems that I found in this drama; I truly thought that this drama was interesting and the concept was great! This drama really deserves a watch even though the reviews might put you off! Plus it's only 10 episodes so it's not an entirely waste of time!

Actors/Cast
There were no problems with their acting! I didn't like some of their characters such as Sun Woo's character since I found her to be kind of useless at times. Na Yeong the ghost seemed even more helpful than the actual cop herself. Speaking about Na Yeong, Jeon Hyo Seong did a fantastic job portraying a dead high schooler that wanted to experience different things in life. Her bubbly personality was cute and I really liked the fact that she was useful at times.

Oh Ji Ho who portrayed Detective Yoon Cheo Yong was fantastic as well! Really like his portrayal of character even though I find him irritating at times with his mentality of 'I can do everything by myself' Despite that; i really think everyone did a great job!

Music
Oh man- I really liked the instrumentals in this drama! I am a huge fan of instrumental soundtracks that give off an epic/ suspense filled vibe! I will definitely download some of the tracks!

Rewatch Value
I'm not sure if I would rewatch this drama since I feel like there are several other dramas that better portrayed mystery/thriller genre. Perhaps one day I will revisit this! I heard the second season is much better so I have higher hopes for that one!

I just recently finished watching this drama. Its a great plot story and great actor and actress. Episode 1-5 the editing is good, normal like the other drama but start on episode 6 above the editing was ridiculous and infuriating camera work. Apparently the cameraman was either drunk or seriously high. I can totally see how it was fun for him to zoom in and out x50 a thousand times during a scene, i would have laughed too had i been there, but me watching it, i felt dizzy and irritated and i couldn't even focus on the conversations. The funny things was the Zoom in and out apparently only happen inside the police station and inside the NIS (happen in episode 6 where they asked about the corpse) while outside the police station they shoot normally.. i havent watched 2nd season but i just hoped it wont be like this if its still the same i wont be watching it. ?‍♀️?‍♀️

FYI, I watched this drama while thinking that this is the second season of Cheo Yong haha.. silly me.. --"

Okay, now let's get to the review.

In terms of story, overall, I am quite satisfied with it. I believe that it provides a good balance between horror, suspense, and humor. I enjoyed each episode although it does not really make me feel 'okay-i-need-to-watch-the-next-episode-now!'. However, there are some things that could be improved. First, while I feel like the drama focuses on Na Young, Sun Woo and Cheo Yong, their story only evolve in the last 2 episodes. The cases solved in the previous episodes do not seem to relate to the main problem; although they are interesting, I could not help but wonder why are they there in the first place. Second, the ending is confusing for me. I could not grasp the ending because it seems off in relation to the previous scene (you will understand what I am talking about once you watch it). Third, the editing and shooting... (I know this is not related to story but it does affect the flow of the story - for me). I could not focus on watching and processing the story because of the poor camera technique. It is fine up to episode 6 where sudden zooming starts to occur. Maybe the cameramen and the director are trying to create suspense by zooming after every phrase.. but sorry.. it failed. [Eg of awkward zooming: You know *zoom* I found out that *zoom* the suspect *zoom* might be here *zoom zoom*]. Moreover, there are some messy camera movement between characters too [Eg: Sun Woo *drag camera quickly everything is blurry* Cheo Yong *repeat* Sun Woo]. Fourth, they do not really explain on Cheo Yong's history. They just expect us to accept the fact that he is a ghost-seeing detective without telling us why is he that way. They did drop some hints, but they are not developed until the end.

In terms of the acting or cast, not so special but not bad too. The main leads and the officer team are quite good, although there are some parts which do not look natural for me (eg: Oh Ji Ho's crying scene on the bridge). I also do want to give 2 thumbs up for the cameos, they all did really good! Hope to see all of them in more dramas in the future! Among all of the casts, Na Young really catches my attention. She is such a lovely and cute character; the drama will be very boring without her.

In terms of music, hm.. to be honest, I am not a music watcher. I dont really pay attention to the music when I watch a drama. However, since I do not have any 'eh-what-music-is-this' moment, I assume the music do match the scenes :D They are not so special tho, they do not give me an earworm after I finish watching.

In terms of rewatch value, although I enjoy watching this, but it does not leave that much of an impression that would make me want to rewatch it again. So, nope, not really high rewatch value.

Overall, I do enjoy watching this drama and I recommend this for you guys who love horror or mystery based dramas :D
