Hi! I'm a teacher, and the other day a wonderful thing happened: "I have never liked a book before", a student said to me, "but I love this one! Can you give me more?"

The book the girl liked was Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. She wanted something similar, and I'm not sure what to say. I haven't been a teacher for very long and I haven't read that many YA novels! (At least none that I can think of that I would say is "similar" to that one.) When I was a kid, I prefered old books (LM Montgomery and such!) and when I was my students' age I read other types of books, so I'm doing my best to catch up with what teenagers like... Can you help?

Just bumping this thread....

This probably does not have anything similar as the novel you mentioned other than it being in the Young adult genre , but my fave ever young adult novel is Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen. Highly highly recommend it.

Others that might be similar to everything, everything are: A Walk to remember, A Fault in our stars

I've never read that book but I did find a few lists that might be of some help to recommend the student.

You might have to check if they are YA and such or suitable for the student beforehand, but there's a good amount there. The Barnes and Noble list is probably the best, but I'm not sure. I hope they help!
