not yet. I want to go but probably won't cause I'm not getting the vaccine.

Twice, once in 2015 and secondly, in 2017. Once Japan has lifted the restrictions, I might consider flying there again?

YESS. I LOVE JAPAN.

I think they’ll prioritise Japanese citizenship first, before opening up to the rest of the world :)

Somewhat OT but... I read news about Delta Air Lines adding direct flights to Haneda from Los Angeles and Honolulu later this year. I guess they anticipate Japan easing up on travel restrictions. I was expecting independent travel to Japan to be closed until early 2023 but maybe the peeps at Delta figure otherwise.

Idk if Japan is now open to non  Japanese citizens and people without family in japan, but ANA and JAL has SFO to Haneda

Yes I live in japan :)

Yes I live in japan :)

what area/city?

Yes! For a year. The best damn year in my entire life. I'm hoping to go back. But it's a lot lot more difficult.

Yes.. My visit was during February.. I really wanted to enjoy the winter snow festivities in places like Nagano, Hokkaido, aomori, Akita, fukuie,..

It snows a whole lot more in Japan than canada and Northern Europe..

Japan blocks overcrowded selfie spot, bans tourists from traditional areas to cope with explosion of travellers.

I do not visit countries that are not friendly to tourists, and I do not recommend others to visit.

I'm a Japan fanboi.... and been to Japan twice.  Each time i spent a whole month (4 weeks) there.

I use to live in a big city myself so whenever I went to Japan I like to move around a lot... never stay in the same city more than  3 nights.... exception is my first trip where I landed in Okinawa and spent a whole week on Miyako Jima.

As a tourist I have nothing but praise for Japan.... very friendly towards tourist in general (unless you're a jerk), very clean and safe country as well.

You will see a huge difference in the big city vs rural area as to how Japanese approach foreigners.... People are a lot more outgoing towards tourist in rural area....They  tend to be a lot more shy in the cities.

A few places i would recommand :

Miyajima - Hiroshima

Miyako-jima - Okinawa

Otaru - Hokkaido

Yakushima island - Kagoshima

Kinosaki - Kansai

Shiretoko - Hokkaido

Hirosaki - Tohoku (I was there for golden week and cherry blossom) very very very crowded... but what an experience :)
