Can you please recommend some recent police jdrama with a good plot and a good cast.

I see that you have watched Strawberry Night. There are 2 TV movies a 2010 and 2013 as well as the series. You seem to have missed one. 

Recent Japanese police dramas I’ve enjoyed. 

Keishicho Ikimono Gakari 2017 (10) J     About the pet squad. All cases involve animals. 

Kirawareru Yuuki 2017 (10) J    Female detective with a past. Involves Criminal Psychology as well.

Okitegami Kyoko No Biboroku 2015 (10) J         A detective whose memory resets every time she sleeps. 

Oriento Kyuko Satsujin Jiken 2015 (2)     An adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Murder On The Orient Express. Part 2 shows the back story for Part 1. 

Shikaku Tantei Higurashi Tabito 2017 (1+9) J     A TV movie followed by a series. A detective with only a heightened sense of sight solves cases. About his friends and family as well.

Sakurako-san No Ashimoto Ni Wa Shitai Ga Umatteiru 2017 (10) J          Similar in concept to the American series Bones, but based on a manga. Good forensic science show.

Zenigata Keibu 2017       Features the bumbling hardboiled detective from Lupin the 3rd and shows some of his cases from when he’s not chasing Lupin.  Two 4 episode dramas and a Special. 

Deka Wanko 2011 (10) J          Very quirky and an idea that could only come from a manga. Rookie homicide detective, Wanko, dresses Goth Loli, has a sense of smell equal to the best police dog. The dog and Wanko are always in competition. The In Paris movie was ok, but  isn’t really worth seeeking out.

I remember really enjoying the Chinese series When A Snail Falls In Love 2016 (21) C

My taste is very quirky. I like a story to have some strange element. Several of these feature Tabe Mikako. Just because.

I watched  it at Fast Drama  http://fastdrama.co/watch-online/orient-kyuukou-satsujin-jiken/episode-1. Their app works ok on my iPad but lacks a good search feature. The site is not bad.
