Someone give me a reason to like or understand what the hell was going on and why they did what they did?

Seriously. I would love to pick the Hong Sisters brains right now. What in the world were they thinking? I mean, probably every writer, director, actor, etc has at least one bad egg during their careers so it was fairly inevitable for even the Hong Sisters as well, but this was so off the wall and below their usual par that I can't begin to fathom o.O I have so many rants over this drama coming out as I sit and ponder, but I feel that if I start I won't be able to stop xD

its ok i didnt know who the hong sisters were too until coming to MDL. in the most part like Jeani i liked the hong sisters drama but really this one hit rock bottom..... like seriously this drama had so many different potential ending and yet they pick the one that tells us nothing!
i seriously think we mdler should just think up our own ending for this and it would def be better than that -.-
From what I've been reading about the ending and how it just kept dragging.... I'm really glad I decided to drop this. I love Gong Yoo but this drama didn't really pull me in in the beginning. And when I took a break from dramas and fell behind I decided to look at the episode reviews to see how it was fairing...only to see more and more people giving it lower scores with the episodes and Gil Da Ran not getting less annoying. I like some of the Hong Sisters dramas - My Girlfriend is a Gumiho is my favorite, and The Greatest Love was hilarious. This one is one I'm glad I dropped, the ending makes my final decision on a drama and a terrible ending just makes me wonder why I bothered watching one. So I'm glad I didn't put myself through that. I think I would've been really frustrated

Smart choice. I wish I had. I like most of the Hong Sisters dramas too. This was a let down for sure.
it's already been said, goose berry said it perfectly, but i just have to yell about this CRAP. it was as if the hong sisters looked at one another laughed and said "hey, you know what would be funny, lets mess with every body and..." and that my friends is how the last 4 episodes of big were born.

Yup... it really was the last four. I need to think of it that way instead of the last two. Going into watching the final two I was ready to forgive the previous two for their repetitive boring-ness and the crying... But alas...it was not to be for I was badly tricked. and again, I want my 16 hours back. I am doubly bummed because who knows when Gong Yoo will do another TV drama and he was almost the only thing I liked about this one in the end.
Same feeling as everyone out there... I watched the drama for Gong Yoo and was rather enthusiastic by the first episodes, still in the middle despite GDR terrible uncute overacting, but dafucq were the last 4?! From the moment they kissed, it was just a game of whine, forget me, I don't exist, I don't remember you, I will disappear and whine again. Kind of typical from your romcom drama where it always bounce back to temporary hate after they finally confess/make out to drag the story a bit longer. A draggy crying feast (even if GY is omgsobeautifulwhenhecriesicandie) with a ridiculous ending trying so hard to let us believe it's open if you ask me. KKJ's soul is back in KKJ's body and that's all there is to it. They didn't show his face because it would have felt awkward for the viewer used to SYJ's image (and because KKJ is way younger than GDR). The ending looked very much like Rooftop Prince. Except the Hong sisters failed to do it right by fast forwarding a whole year at the climax we've all been waiting for: THE SWITCHING BACK. I did felt chemistry with KKJ and GDR in the first episodes. I wonder why they didn't exploit the love triangle/switching a bit more instead of putting KKJ straight in bed for the rest of the drama. A real waste. :(

And that revelation "they could have been twin brothers"... like . BIG... FAIL.
ok, I really wondering... is there someone who liked the ending? or at least didn't hate/dislike it? I really want to know why Hong Sisters wrote such ending.. at least they must be thinking it was good... so I want to know from someone who liked the ending; which aspect was good?because I hardly find any.. :( *well, at least for the ending of FK, some people even loved it...for WR, I didn't dislike it...but this?I haven't read any positive comment.. :(
I think i had high hopes for this drama while i shouldn't , i really thought that Big will go BIG but end up going small. After the few first episode the drama bacame meaningless and many unnecessary episodes that went boring sometimes. Yes, i like Gong Yoo but this isn't the drama that i appreciated him in it. I gave this drama a 5 but i still think it's too much and i'm not even stict with my scores (but i think i will become soon). The few last ep were a "blah... blah... blah" in my openion , they were really dragged as very dragged !
Such an epic fail. I didn't wait SO long for him to come back from his military service to have you do this to me!!! My time spent for each episode I felt shortchanged, betrayed /deceived by the Hong Sisters. I could forgive minor flaws in the drama but not the lousy ending. I invested a lot of emotions on this drama. I waited for it and religiously watching it after subbed available. I love Gong Yoo on top of all korean actors I know. Gong Yoo and I both deserved a better last episode!!!

Drama had so much potential going in and then... Two of the biggest events happened offscreen--the wedding and the body switch. I mean, did they even really switch bodies? We never saw it happen, Ma Ri said it happened (and we all know how reliable she is), and they never show us his face. We never had Seo Yoon Jae's side of the story. What happened to him after the switch? What a waste of time and emotions!!!

I never gonna watch any Hong Sisters drama in the future. He's beautiful is one of my favorite. The flaws in the drama is tolerable that i even rated it a 10. Twas enjoyable and hilarious.
They even cheated us out of some sort of resolution between the two "brothers" I mean good god! There was a painting and a freaking book about them saving each other! What in the world happened to this drama?

here is the thing... There is nothing more unforgivable to me in drama land then the writer treating the audience as stupid. I can forgive cliche's, makjang, a silly plot or even an over the top evil antagonist. But being treated as stupid is the WORST.

1) They set up the whole drama as one where due to the soul swap Gil Da Ran began to fall in love with the much younger Kyung Joon. Part of her journey was to reconcile herself to the fact that she was falling for a much younger man and ultimately how she would handle the consequences of that once his soul was back in his younger body. After sticking with this drama for 16 episodes we, the audience, were cheated out of the ultimate end of both of their journeys. WE were treated as if we were stupid and could not handle seeing the older Da Ran with the younger Kyung Joon in his rightful body. I don't know about any of you but as much as I love Gong Yoo....We deserved to be shown this REAL version of their end.

2) We were cheated out of a reunion between these brothers whose parents treated them like chess pieces in their game of "Let's create another human being to serve one purpose...Save Yoon Jae". Why did we get no closure for these two brothers? Not even one real interaction at the end of the day!? How could there not have been one scene between them?

Okay..I shall say no more forever and waste no more time. But these two glaring omissions along with all the other craptacular plot holes (Take the fact that she MARRIED Yoon Jae while Kyung Joon was in his body!!! How would that have messed with Yoon Jae's head upon waking?) make this one of the worst dramas I've ever seen. That is saying something.
@Jeanni All of that so, so much. The brothers had become the part of the drama that I was MOST interested in by the time the last few eps were rolling in, and then instead of brother reunion we got more tears and repeated words and then just...crickets. All of that teasing over the body switch. All of that build up over the family drama. And then nothing. It makes me throw stuffed angry birds at my defenseless computer screen.

OMG I didn't realize until I read this!!! Everything you said make since. For me the problem isn't that they didn't show show Won Ho as Gyung Joon with Da Ran; it is that they didn't show the actual switch. I wanted to see the brothers meet each other if nothing else. Honestly by the end of this drama I didn't care if either brother would go to Da Ran. I can't stand her. So, I really didn't care about that part.

Right!!! I'm worried about how long it will be before Gong Yoo is in another drama. Maybe I will just rewatch Coffee Prince. Geez!!!
