Since I've started watching Kdramas and became aware of their awards shows I've always found this fascinating because the praise is coming from it's own network. The MBC, SBS and KBS awards are all for shows on their own network and don't include any other shows. Maybe other countries do this? (I'm just making an observation so don't flame me...) I've always found it strange that each network has these awards. Like they're patting themselves on the back or something? In America the awards shows we have aren't exclusive to a certain network channel. They are usually voted on by an established committee. For example; The Emmy's (Television awards; are voted on by an academy board of directors and each person is responsible for a category like directing, acting, cinematography; so the awards are coming from their peers. The SAG awards: Screen Actors Guild... Same thing... Votes from Peers. The Golden Globes: The Hollywood Foreign Press votes on these... Anyway...Sorry this is long but I'm sincerely curious about this. I'm not saying our system is better here btw, I'm simply making an observation and opening a discussion if anyone is curious like me. I would LOVE to watch one of these award shows from S. Korea. I wonder if I could find them subbed anywhere? Does anyone know?
