Hi,
I've been thinking about how there are many strong male fighter characters in dramas, but there are not many females fighters that come to mind. By fighters, I mean that they possess and use physical skills (martial sets, brawlers, etc.).
The ones that come to mind:
- Strong Woman Do Bong Song | though she is superhuman.
- The Ghost Detective | has judo skills, but she uses them sporadically.
- Are you Human too? | supposed to be a former MMA fighter, but again she almost never uses her skills when it matters.
- City Hunter | though she is inconsistent with her fighting skills. She's able to fight with 4-5 men and down them one moment... Yet gets beat by two guys the next.
- Bring it on, Ghost | she does have some skills.
- Hello Monster | she certainly has some of the best fights of the drama.
- Let me Introduce Her | she has some fighting skills, but she is inconsistent.
- Library Wars movies | FL was made weaker in the Japanese live actions, unfortunately (which was greatly disappointing).
- Terius Behind Me | the female NIS agent does show some fighting skill.
- Lovely Horribly | FL was a judo champion and she does make use of her skills sometimes.
- Secret Garden | she is supposed to have skills, but she can't break free of a man's grasp. So no. She doesn't count. Adding it here just to not get it as a suggestion.
- Suspicious Partners | she has skills but rarely uses them.
- Where stars land | 2nd FL (security) has shown she has skills and knows how to use them.
Are there any others that you'd recommend? The female fighter doesn't have to necessarily be the female lead. So long as she has moments to show off those skills and remain consistent in her power.
