So, because I live with my family,  love spending time with them and I always want to watch k-dramas,  I need to come up with a k-drama portfolio that them can enjoy and if any of you would be interested on helping me with that, I'll be very thankful and glad :) And hopefully, the list can help someone else too ^.^

Situation 1: Mom

My mom actually likes k-drama, we watched our first k-drama together (I had watched c-dramas shortly before)  - "Crash Landing On You" - and we both fell in love with the story and characters. When I was watching "Healer", she was always super hooked up to. However, when I watched dramas like "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo" and "True Beauty", she was uninterested, even saying it was silly. But she loved "A Little Thing Called First Love", it was more juvenile, but she adored the romance. So, my mom's musts: more serious  and preferably adult characters that she can develop a crush on, protective and caring male leads (responsible and intense MLs are like bingo), no silly or overly dependable female leads though (the balance in CLOY, basically).  She's not necessarily only interested in romances, but when it comes to series mostly yes.  We watched the first episode of "Was It Love" and she liked  it - I guess, she liked the single woman, trying to make ends meet, family/work/romance combo that woman challenge and she identifies with. She needs a new CLOY, basically ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Situation 2: Dad

So, my father is very resistant to k-dramas. I think he's under the impression that all k-dramas are like shoujos with bland romance - which is like what he watched, you can blame it on me - and probably repetitive too (again, not exactly incorrect, I do go for repetitive and hope they still make the same story over and over so I can watch a thousand times honestly lol) and he doesn't want to try new ones because of that - he only watched like a few minutes, to be honest. He's still very much on the "I don't understand what they're saying, that's all too different" vibe, but we can't do anything about that, just make him watch it until he gets familiar with it lol So, for my father, no romance, maybe one with a more intense or tricky plot, he loves reality shows, so drama and gossip might be baits for him on the genre lol But I'd rather try some action, some police drama or suspense overall. The thing is that he isn't a very patient expectator, so, maybe a shorter format - or long but with quick developments - may be the way to go. I was considering trying "Vincenzo", "Mouse" or even "Flower of Evil", all of which I haven't watched before, you can tell me if it's yay or nay.

So, those are the demanding tastes I have to please - it isn't easy ordering a pizza with them, deciding what to watch is even harder. Obviously, I'm not looking for dramas that can please them at the same time (both of them love historical fiction, for example, but finding a story with the required characteristics would be hard), just dramas that I can have a good time with one or another is perfectly fine. I don't know if anyone will have the time or patience to read all this, BUT if you did, thanks for your time and interest and I'm looking forward to your suggestions <3

Some recommendations:

Flower of Evil sounds like a good choice for what you described.

Maybe also interesting for the three of you:
Heartless City - action, crime, undercover, storng friendship, a bit of romance (maybe a little too hard for your mom's taste)
City Hunter -revenge of an ex-soldier, politics, strong female lead, strong romance (contains things for both)
Yong Pal - action, crime, character development, romance, caring ML, strong FL (maybe to emotional and different in terms of attitude for your dad)

Not sure these meet your mothers‘ criteria, but since your father seems harder to persuade then maybe the following might work to spark his interest.

  • Live - Experience of rookie police officers as they start their careers
  • Reply 1988 - Nostalgic retrospective on a group of friends as they grow up
  • Signal - Police detectives separated by time,  work to solve serial murder case
  • Stranger - Relationship between Prosecutors & Police as they work cases
  • Flower of Evil - Started with quick developments, but turned slow paced in the middle

Possibilities that both parents may like...

Suits - I have only watched 4 eps so far but it is really good. The bromance in this is way more prevalent than any romance. But not in your face with either.

The K2 - love the action in this a lot. JCW is so good as Jeha! Yes, there is romance but it is more so background than not.

The Master's Sun - supernatural romdramcom... Romance is not too in your face, it is rather subtle.... kinda. I think both your parents would find something to love about this series.

Vincenzo would work. There is romance but it is very well built up and drawn out and is not so in your face that your dad would be turned off by it. It's much more into the diabolical and action side of things.

Zombie Detective - very funny and a fun watch. minimal hints of romance but nothing really happens. Still hoping for a second season personally.

(I will second City Hunter and Yong Pal. As someone who loves a balance like CLOY with romance and intensity and action, too, those both fit and may be something both your parents would be into.)

Thanks so much for all your replies <3

Can't wait to test those shows and see their reactions! xD
