Boring. 

Attempted to watch it for the first time back in 2021, but gave up halfway because it was too dragged out and bland. One of the shows that made me lose faith KBL. (until Semantic Error came along and restored it)  Only picked it up again because it was on Netflix.

I admit how problematic the plot is, but how can you resist Yuzhou? Also, this series was my proper gateway drama into BL. So it will always have a special place in my heart.

One of my absolute favorite BLs of all time! I very rarely re-watch a series no matter how much I love it.  But I've re-watched TharnType so many times (I have lost count of how many) that I have all the episodes perfectly etched into my memory, scene by scene. 

Still like most BLs of its time, the story is not perfect and comes with a list of trigger warnings. (some more disturbing than others) Especially not a fan of how some heavy themes were dealt with.  But...it still holds a special place in my heart.

However, I didn't understand Xian Hao Ting's sudden infatuation with Yu Xi Gu which I felt could have been developed better. Also that ending!

Probably my most anticipated BL of 2020, but sadly it was bit of a let down. Absolutely loved the first half of the show, but it failed to keep me as engaged during the last couple of episodes.

EDIT: The above review was left well before KBL upped its game in late 2021/early 2022 and came out with gems consecutively. Now the only BLs I watch are Korean ones.

THIS SHOW IS EVERYTHING!!! 

I've never being impressed with Korean BLs (sub-par acting, bad plots, barely there chemistry and most of them look like they've been filmed on a potato; although they seem to be getting better with few good shows coming out in 2022 ) the only exception being WYIL. So even though I've seen the buzz for this series when it first aired, I never watched it until much later - BIGGEST REGRET OF 2022!

SEMANTIC ERROR IS THE BEST BL EVER, I don't make the rules.

If someone new to BL wants me to recommend them a show, this would be my pick.

• Great acting with unmatched chemistry between the leads
• A plot that is completely unproblematic, sweet and cute
• The production, although a low-budget series, was completely on point with so much thought put into each detail (the cute campus sets, the wardrobes of the main leads with distinct styles and color palates, the lighting of the sets to match the characters personalities, the attention to detail; they freaking made 2 perfectly realistic IG accounts for Jae Young and Sung Woo!)
• The sweetest friendship between SuamChan, their sincerity and how actively they promote the show and each other without any hesitation wherever they go (such a breath of fresh air since the majority of Korean BL actors at the time were somewhat evasive about their shows and rarely talked about them unprompted)

Do yourself a favor and watch this gem. Thank me later

Did I have fun watching it? Absolutely 

But I probably won't recommend it to anyone because this show absolutely scarred me with the sickening VegasPete subplot in the second half. I skipped almost all their scenes despite being a fan of Bible and wanting to see more of him.

THIS!!! To My Star 1 was stunning, but this second season is a work of pure art!

This show has given me one of the biggest emotional hangovers in recent times and I can't seem to move on from it. It's such a beautiful, heartfelt story that feeds your soul. It's a realistic and raw portrayal of human emotions that anyone is able to effortlessly connect with. Every single thing about this show was perfect. 

Woo Hyun and Kang Min brought Seo Joon and Ji Woo to life so brilliantly that I can't think of these characters being played by anyone else. Hwang Da Seul is a pure genius who always strikes gold with her work.

I can't say enough good things about TMS. I laughed, I cried, my heart soared, my heart ached and I'm still thinking about how much I love this little story.

Meh.

This had potential but ultimately turned out to be really underwhelming. If I had watched this 3 years back, I might have thought of this as one of the better BLs. But Kim Soo Jung, Hwang Da Seul, Werner du Plessis, and Inu Baek have raised the bar for my expectations so high, that now, shows like these pale in comparison. 

My biggest gripe is Woo Seung Hyun acting like a literal baby instead of a fully-grown man. This made his relationship with Kim Jong Chan weirdly uncomfortable to watch at times despite them both being consenting adults.

Still worth a watch if you go in without expecting much.
