Bad buddy is competent but bland. Its a boring and very typical bl story in a school setting. I understand its popular but it is mediocre when compared to something like The on1y One. That show does everything better. The acting, the emotions, the cinematography.
I think BB its loved because people are fans of the two actors, fans keep convincing themselves that it is a great. Maybe its Thai great. But I prefer other Thai shows like My Stand in and Only Friends. They bring something new .
And you cant compare BB to this show because this has aired only 1 episode. Unless we have seen it we cant really judge so far. It kind of strong evidence that fans keep convincing themselves about BB so called "brilliance ". Their minds are made up irrespective of facts - because facts are not important. I have read a post on reddit that discusses how fans of other shows have been told to come here and downvote this show and other shows (an admin from The next prince- told fans to downvote but i cant confirm if this is true). This has apparently has also been done to SweetHeart Jom.
I have not seen this show so I dont know what it deserves but it is unfair that mass voting is done without consideration of the quality. Its also particularly disgusting when its done to independent smaller companies. We need them to do well. They tend to be more creative and innovative sometimes. I for one do not want all the shows being made by one GMMtv company.

The power dynamics is due to the inability of characters to be more transparent rather than to exert power and control. A reviewer discussed bdsm but I did not get that - to me the power dynamics is due to the way they interact based on their characters.
I have heard/read that the Japanese rarely express words like "I love you". They show it through their actions. Its also difficult to fully understand based on the subtitles
