It’s one of the drawbacks of limiting the amount of episodes. Gosh, if they were able to spread this story out over 50-70 episodes it would have been amazing!

Watched episode 20, and all of the stuff that went down at the Willow shooting event went completely over my head 😅

Yeah I miss his old self too, but I think that’s the whole point of this part of his development. I do like his character regardless, though.

I think we are supposed to feel uncomfortable with the choices ZL is making and the person he is becoming, so the writing must be good :) I think what you’re feeling is exactly what the writers are going for.

Which makes sense for a lot of reasons, I think. No contact for five years would create some distance and uncertainty, and also Zhao Ling and TY has changed over the past five years and their dynamic is different. They have to re-learn each other in a lot of ways, and ZL is not the same person he was before he left.

I don’t disagree. I think what meant the most to TY was how Zhao Ling protected her reputation, but in his endeavors to protect her she became laughing stock.

Yeah and we know they’re totally sweet with each other by episode 21, I believe. With the back hug in the preview, he still seems a bit distant.
