Jing is my favorite in the book so I am biased. But DW portrayal of Jing give him a more sturdy/manly vibe than I imagined in the book. I think his physique has something to do with it - maybe his broad shoulder, and chiseled cheekbone. He is the right balance of softie/nice but a touch of manliness. The story in the drama is pretty much 95% of the book. Jing was also masterminding in the novel but we didn't know until later. But in the drama, we are shown some scenes of that between Jing/CX and FengLong. I think that give us a visual cue that this character is intelligent as well.

The fire is used to burn evidence, not enough to kill an immortal like Shiqi. XY is already dead by that time, they just wanted to burn the body and all other traces to cover up the killer.

I see it differently.
When XL ask for favors from Jing - I think he was desperate to help his army. The other time was when they got really sick and was dying.

When he asked "favor" from CX, it's not a favor. It's an even exchange.
BUT in my eyes, he only use that as excuse to mask how much he care/love XY so people can't see it, especially XY.
If XY wasn't XY, he wouldn't care for any favor and save her just the same.

Ever since I heard that Yuzheng started beef with Dengwei I immediately like DW even more.

What? Who would ever think XL is "selfish"? He's the most selfless character, especially when it come to XY.

He's willing to fight and die with the Chenrong soldiers - who are not his kin, not his people, and not even his country.
He's willing to do everything for XY - accompany her, make her laugh, teach her to protect herself, save her life - without asking even an ounce of acknowledgement or affection back from her, without asking to be with her.

He's the epitome of "selfless" - give without asking for anything back.

Yeah Qingshui town was my favorite arc.

We're still in the happier first half and everybody already went crazy.
I can't imagine how everyone reaction is going to be like in the second half.

Yeah I get you. Not taking into account the endin, just from the drama so far, Fenglong doesn’t pose a threat because CX can feel xy don’t actually like him~ and they just have a platonic relationship. CX don’t want XY to like anyone or marry anyone.

For real.. I kept my expectation super low when I saw this was being adapted but I'm so pleasantly surprised. This is my favorite of all her novels I read so I'm glad this got a nice drama adaptation.

The drama mentioned it when XL arrived. He said thankfully they been injecting spiritual power to keep her heartbeat otherwise, she wouldn't make it by them time XL came.

She don't need to ask because she's already know. It's easy to put 2+2. As XL - he already explained why he want to kill CX. As FFB - of course it's because of the FangFei family. Either way, she already know why so there's no need to ask. The question she should be asking is why he DIDN"T shot them. She didn't know why when he was FFB, but already understand when she finds out he's XL

I give it to the actor that somehow make CX "likable" (I put that in quotation because it's questionable). With a less skill actor, CX would be really dislikable right now.

hear hear. CX is doing so well with the micro-expression. He's doing it enough that we know it's getting under his skin, but not over-reacting. The entire cast acting is top-notch.

she actually like Xuan before knowing he's a prince, but she won't pursue him if he isn't. she's a girl with an agenda

Xinyue isn't "spoiled". She's classist. In modern day we are all born equal so people acting like Xinyue is called spoiled. But in Xinyue time, everyone is classist. She's just a product of her time.

Only our FL is special where she treat people the same regardless of social standing. The whole entourage (except Jing), is also classist (Hou, Fenglong, Yiyang) and even A'nian in the beginning.

ZWY sense of humor speak to me. It sound very deadpan dry humor style. I think CX is likable in a way because he inject a tiny bit of childish jauntiness in CX expression, hidden under a plasticky smile

I know a lot happened, but CX voice is just so nice.
When he pacify Xin Yue when she hit her head, it was especially nice. It did something to me and Idk what.

CX jealous stare look a bit petty and childish, like an annoyed child. XL - just heartbreaking, like someone broke his favorite toy. Jing - he look really mad.

I'm watching bts scenes these days. The actor that play CX have a childish joking style/ dry humor vibe. (He even call 17 a "simp.") XL actor has this pouty lips when he complains, and the Jing actor is always smiley.

XL is here for a good time, not a long time.
Our girl XY can get both

Imagine how he would be like before that torture, when he was still the Master of Qingqiu. It would have been a sight to behold.
