On ep3 but it feels so boring! Is it getting better?
Edit: it didnt get better Too much skinship got wasted! ML has no acting skills, he moves like a robot, has that icy expression all the time, closed mouth kisses, all in all is cringworthy! Too bad cause it has a very cosy and sensual lightning, beautiful colors, closeups of well cooked food and drinks but.....no acting-esp by the ML. FL performs better and i suppose she is a better actress but its difficult to carry a whole couple's performance. You should have a good partner especially when there's supposed to be romance, passion, lust, 10 years of being in love and desire of people in their 20's. Their movement and interactions dont look natural, direction is quite bad too.
For anyone who shares same opinion with me, i suggest "Love is Phantom" Same non plot, no storyline, but great atmosphere, great acting, chemistry off the charts and a couple you ll remember for long, even though its weird and creepy at first sight.
The show is tagged romance though there was not any romance in it at all. I also didn't like how Masao cheated…
Still we never saw the exact situation between the couple in the past. Only 1 flashback in a loop playing with strings. Did they have a relationship? Or only childhood friends with a bit of flirt? And if they had a relationship, Okita just went to Seattle and she got married and thats all? Who wrote this nonsense thing?
Ok i laughed so hard in ep1, thinking: what kind of cr@p am i watching?? Indeed, there is no storyline, there is no plot, but its an interesting watch ONLY because of that weird creepy couple. You watch a man falling instantly for a woman and he starts behaving as being charmed or something. Then you watch a woman kind of submissive and veeeeery low key person, to be so witty (sexually) with a very slight layer or seduction, acting like a dumb child and both of them give you the impression that there's something else going on in their minds, something very dark, maybe a secret, but NO. They re just like that lol! GREAT chemistry, creepy in a very unique way and french kisses very well directed, beautiful lightning and atmosphere, sensual but natural choreographed interactions, are the only reasons for this watch. Overall i enjoyed it very much for what it is. At least it was sincere, not pretending to be something else, or taking itself more serious that it is. Plus: eye candy Kubota Yuki wearing grey colored contact lenses, making him look even hotter!
You are new to asian dramas right?:PWith some exceptions, in asian romances when they are around 30 they date…
Actually no im not new. I just prefer japanese dramas though i ve watched enough of chinese and kdramas. Indeed they are a bit more restrained, mostly because of censorship (in Chinese and Korean dramaland). Japan and Thailand differ a lot
Why do people rate Jdramas so badly? This is definitely an 8+ for me
Partly because Jdramas are not so popular both in the east and the west (except the netflix ones, which are not that good, as they re more mainstream according to netflix regular watchers). Another reason is that majority of audience is watching Kdarmas like crazy and also Chinese ones. I did that too before i discover the hidden gem that's hidden in Japanese movies and dramas
I thought the FL was the opposite of pathetic. I do think she was naive, and perhaps overly enthusiastic. She…
No matter if we like it or not, there are people like her out there, males and females. Its just a personality type -not necessarily mean that is promoted as a must be for a woman. Women and men dont need dramas to choose how their character will form. We all are what we are. And in dramas there are plenty of personalities displayed-still there are cliches so that the product can bring money, but its just a show after all
Sweet & relaxing. I loved it! This is how dramas should portray a relationship between two people who are supposedly…
Well a year later response: 1. Kimi wa Petto-the japanese version, light watch, also weird and kinda creepy in the beginning but you wont be focused on the creepy start. Natural chemistry, real relatable people acting like real relatable human beings in love. 2. Sora Kara Furu Ichioku no Hoshi. A very dark tragic story, oldie but masterpiece in many aspects. Heavy watch in terms of storyline but its my fav by far 3. Its okay that s love. Not too light, not too heavy, very good cast and acting and very sensitive real approach of mental health issues. A must watch and maybe the only Kdrama i truly enjoyed as most of them are very beautiful to the eye but too fake for my taste
Im so glad that there are people out there cringe the hell out of 'em when watching adults behaving like fish having a stroke or something (and dont get me started with the virginity issues of 30+ ceo male/female who suddenly falls for nothing and behaves like an outlaw creepy stalker)
I thought it was AWESOME. The aesthetics and cinematograpy are nice. The casting is all beautiful, and all have…
You ve said it all! I d give it an 8 too, just for the intention (or not, idk) of the creators to give us a freedom of imagining the true background story, be it a ghost love story, a goblin, a cursed soul, or just a boring guy playing the macho role-play to a naive woman
Very good idea, very fast pacing for the first half but then it got in a loop, same situations, same feelings,…
The ending was off and confusing. Did they see all these things in a dream? Did they actually return after the volcano explosion? Looks like it was a dream, but if it was one, how come only ML remembers it? If the returned, how did they return? Very confusing, I chose to believe that he dreamed the whole thing, by himself, no one else experienced it thats why we watch the ending through his eyes only
Very good idea, very fast pacing for the first half but then it got in a loop, same situations, same feelings, same outcome. As for the ending (i ll write another comment below under spoiler tag)
Can someone explain to me this very cruacial question that made me reject the whole project (i had other reasons too, technically speaking but ok) lets talk about the plot: The night the police and in laws came to separate the lovers, is that thing legal? Im sure not. Why the couple accepted that behavior and not start the procedures for divorce, but instead the signed the papers of that absurd and crazy "agreement"? How and why Kitano went back to that psycho wife and was all lovey dovey at the end while moving out? How was that justified? Plus in the followed movie, Kitano just signed a divorce together with his father in law so it wasnt THAT difficult to start with! Any ideas?
not good, what a waste of my time, main couple looks nothing "in love" the plot was weak, since affair ones always…
oh god yes! And for the skinshippers who are lured by the poster....there was no skinship at least not japanese style. Some cliche western choreographed "passion" scenes, totally emotionless and with the standard closeups to muscles, sweat and stuff. Waste of time.
The most ridiculous drama about affairs, that i ve ever watched. Main characters in last ep, look as if they were under lobotomy. Literally vegetables. Their decisions dont make any logical sense. Another precious lesson we learn is that in Japan, when you break into a house, physically hurt the owner, destroy things, you dont get punished and no one is going to report you. BUT, when you commit adultery, prosecutors, police officers, swat team, special forces plus both your in laws, come and violently take you away from the bed where you sleep with your partner and get you at home where you belong-like a furniture or something. (of course the above is not true in Japan, its just the writer lost her mind). Last but not least: watch this, if you want to see "illegal" couples being extra boring, even more boring than the actual married combinations with ther wives/husbands. The only logical and normal person in this series is the older daughter of Rikako. Her words are the only lines in that script that actually make sense.
Just finished it. By far the best BL ever. There's hardly no romance, so if you you are into romance stories, skip this one. Its all about sensei-student relationship. Two great men putting aside their ego in small things, and focusing on their passion for architecture. Deeply devoted to one another, straightforwardly honest and respectful to each other, struggling for their place in the world of architecture. The girl is just the catalyst to their relationships-mostly at the beginning, nothing more. Kimutaku is very good portraying a rookie architect full of passion but Tamura literally shines in his character. Storywise, is not very interesting-actually tends to be boring at times- but the two men's relationship is very extraordinary, as the mentor and the student both are committed to each other building gradually a very strong bond while they re mirroring themselves to each other, representing one's past self and future self. Highly reccomend this but certainly not for the tagged genres.
Sorry to interrupt the holy innerpeace of priests and nuns here in the comment section, but up to now, (still on ep4), i see 2 great men coming from the same roots, having the same passion for their talent and a woman but still, the story looks very interesting as it depicts that love doesnt come necessarily in a set of 2-hetero-man&woman=forever pachage, but it can be shaped in many different kinds and forms. As for infidelity and such, there is no infidelity when all people involved, know whats going on. Its called consent and indeed its the most decent and mature condition all relationships should include.
I ve read the comment section first and as usual i stumbled upon the usual neo-puritanism which is very annoying. Thank god your review saved the day. I was so tired by Chinese and Kdramas with all that fake bubbly beautified side of life (though its a great company for dinner) and in japanese dramaland i found my drama Eden. The concept is very interesting though the whole aesthetics is not that dark for me-im into darker kind of stories these days. Still on ep3 and the only thing i dont like is the music and the bad quality im watching. Is there any place i can watch it if not hd but at least over 360?
