Just finished watching it, while having some hard times because of Google's connection. This! This movie is just a perfect prequel to the period of when WWX was resurrected. Caution, spoilers ahead! Visually and acting wise, in my opinion, it's better than The Living Dead (maybe because TLD is something of a small sequel with no real backstory for the main one)! The actors, especially NHS's and NMJ's did really good! Also, the relationship between NHS and Nie ZhengHui( i think i butchered his name) was a really nice delight! Love how he was the one who actually carried Huaisang's saber and Mingjue actually didn't yell at them for this!:))On the tragic note, although this doesn't happen in the novel, the fact that JGY tricked Huaisang into singing THAT song! Now that is a good but tragic addition to the story! Because basically now Huaisang can feel the guilt of causing the acceleration of death of his DaGe and the actual death of his guard and what might be head disciple! His hatred towards JGY grew over the roof! Really nice movie which i am glad was produced as The Untamed concentrated on the other sects while leaving the interesting Nie sect on the side!

Yeah..I also noticed the subs! When there are singing/opera scenes, they only translate the songs and not the dialogues that might happen between characters.

Since I'm not VIP, up to date, I only watched 6 episodes with engsub. Up until now, I can only say that although I hate Republican era dramas, the opera part is really interesting! The costumes and sets are really intricate and you can definitely see the budget that was put into this! Also, for those who say BL has been removed from the drama: nope, still here. Of course it's not in your face, but the subtleties are waay more than enough considering the censoring. Really nice interactions so far, although a bit awkward (though that might be only because of how XiRui's character must be). Also, i feel the need to mention that I haven't read the novel so there's that! Can't wait to watch the rest of the episodes!

Anyone who knows if this actually has tragedy in the genre?

I really like your idea! A movie where all reunite to defeat a bigger evil is really good! Hmm..I vaguely remember a fanfic on ao3 that had this plot!

I cannot believe that I found another fan of NHS here! Especially since well..Wangxian! I have saw the video before! I really like the analyses that the user does!Yes, indeed! Wangxian wouldn't even be together if NHS wouldn't have plotted revenge! The thing is that the author of the novel was very concentrated on the main pairing and to be honest,,left so many good characters under developed. The Nie clan is very interesting so I am very exited for the movie! Ultimately, i really wonder who had the saddest ending..Mo XuanYu who sacrificed himself, of NHS who lost all his family( mum, dad, brother, and Er-ge, San-ge and friends as well).

Mine also! Don't know why, but his character in The Untamed just attracted me! While many watched the drama for Wangxian, the plot and the scheming got me all through the end ! He truly needs more roles in dramas!

The trailer is life! And the ending is the beginning of the end for Yao; that stare that Huaisang gave him is just so right for the new Nie sect leader.

Just like Mizu has replied already, In my opinion, the translation is good, It was fast done finished very quickly! All my appreciation to all fan translators out there that helped me read this novel!The thing is, Chinese language is hard sometimes to interpret in English, especially cultivation, immortal, fantasy novels, so, of course, the translators from the link that i sent you, did it in a fast way. Now that they don't have time pressuring them(aka fans bombarding twitter about what happens in the next chapter), the translators from Deep Dream, have the time to flourish the words more. Though..you will have to wait alot for them to finish the novel:o

NIF is good! Crazy good especially the actors which you can see they are experienced. The bromance will make you bawl tears if you can pass the first few episodes which are slow to develop due to plot

If you like reading and liked The Untamed, maybe give a try to Heaven's Official Blessing(Tian Guan Ci Fu) written by the same author who has written the novel which The Untamed is adapted from. It will be adapted also as live-action and the animation will be released this year.
