For me, I was getting emotional throughout that scene but the actual tears came out as the credits started rolling. The thought that this is finished, no new episode tomorrow or next week or ever. I never thought I'd cry because a drama finished. Just proves what a good job these guys did to make themselves an unforgettable part of our lives.

I may have repeated that scene a hundred times just to catch the change in the hair color second by second....first the strand on his left side turned white then the strand on the right side...I agree it was well done. That whole scene was top notch.

The reason the SML seems obsessed with the FL is that they were in love but she was forced into a political marriage with SML's elder brother. The elder brother died soon after the wedding maybe on the same day....so no consummation. SML is still in love with her and FL also has some feelings for him....probably he wants to marry her but knows that no one will allow it.

From what I heard, if they wanted, they could air both these dramas tomorrow...silently, with zero publicity and no buzz on Social media. But Tencent has spent a lot of money on these production so they want to promote the heck out of them. But they can't do that right now. Because of the 100 years celebration of cpc, promoting or airing of any historical and fantasy drama is not allowed after this month..and on top of that this is a bl adaptation.What Youku did with WOH was, it gave up the chance to promote it in any way just so they could air it fast. For e.g. Instead of splashing it on their main page with banners, you had to scroll all the way down to find the link...also it had little or no buzz at all on social media. Reason being you have get official permissions to promote dramas on big platforms...so it goes through another round of censors...which takes another few weeks/months until it gets passed.

LMAO...the girls are mood. Silently squealing behind those dudes who seem to have no inkling of the underlying flirty tone in those lines of WKX. Those poor girls...Can't even squeal out loud...that must be painful.

For dramas like this sometimes open endings are better for the story and sometimes sad endings.Even though logically I feel the official ending is great but emotionally, for the sake of my mental health, I prefer the unofficial ending.

You should watch the 2nd ending that got deleted. It helped me recover from my heartbreak a little after I finished that last episode.

They are cousins. Emperor's sister was ML mother. His other sister is JingRui's mom. So Jing Rui and ML are also cousins.

I love actors who use their brains and not blindly do something just because the script says so. They need their characters actions and words to make sense. I'm so excited to see ZZH in his future works. Hope he gets to choose his scripts from now on.

I know that feeling. For me it happened with Gong Jun. He's fine in Lost love much better than AB but in WOH, he was too good. Even though I could still see him holding back in some scenes.. his playful, flirtatious WKX was awesome but it was his crazy, unhinged, vengeful chief of ghost Valley that blew me away.
I was hoping to start this and begin again but I guess I'll stick to fan videos on YT using scenes from their previous dramas. Some of them are quiet steamy...thanks to some god level editing skills.

Anyways, I don't think we should compare ZZH's earlier works with WOH. ZZH in WOH is on a whole different level. You can feel his love and respect for the character he's playing. He is 100% ZZS on screen. Sometimes actors like ZZH need scripts like WOH for them to truly shine. I've seen clips of YunXi and this drama and you can tell he doesn't feel the connect with the character. ZZS was made for him, he emptied himself for the character, thats why we feel disappointed when we see him under perform in his previous works.

Some dramas get better and better on every rewatch....this was one of them. Just a heads up....none of the main cast from this one is in NIF2. Just one or maybe two characters made to season 2...as the storyline in 2 happens 50/60 years after the events of NIF1.

Wang Kai, the actor playing Prince Jing does his own dubbing. So you are actually hearing his real voice.

Finished the 4 epsiodes in one go. All I can think is...Whats the hurry. They have 50 episodes can they let me breath a little. That said I enjoyed most of the interactions between the leads. I'm completely intrigued by Leo's character. Political stuff was going over my head....I had to stop and do a little research on Xuanwu gate incident. I wish they had given a little voice over or done a little anime scene explaining about it. Dilreba is doing a much better job than I expected. Love her character here. Even when Chang ge does dumb things sometimes they are not illogical or out of character. Another actor who has my complete attention besides Leo is the actor playing Qin Wang. His expressions full of conflicting emotions were spot on in his scenes with Chang ge. Hope the screenwriter doesn't do crazy stuff in future episodes or put a sad ending....since they've been hinting at a wedding between the leads from episode 1.

They also mentioned mechanical messenger sparrows/birds...another SPL thing.
