Title Lie after Lie Spoiler
Ice Adonis With the same FL but her revenge was as cold as liquid nitrogen.
I wish her character in Lie After Lie was as strong as she was in Ice Adonis.
In this one, I find her character too passive and a bit irrational.
Then again, she was suffering from an extreme PTSD.

You too, stay safe and healthy.

The FDA is in process of approving 3 vaccines from 3 different distributors. The general public should be able to get free access to those vaccines within a month or so.

I think that I should have free time starting next week. I should be able to resume my reading.

Still going full force on our side of the world.
However, mortalities are at an all-time high.

Yes, this pre-released Xianxia drama is getting the best PR ever!!!

I have never watched the novella (didn’t know that there was one) but I have read the book, Candide by Voltaire.
I am francophone; French literature was part of my school curriculum.

As for my name, I am not sure about any relation with the 17 century French philosopher. Since Voltaire was just his pen-name.

It is amazing how 2 people from different backgrounds and cultures can share similarities in their up-bringings.
And please, do not apologize. This is not spamming but sharing common interest.
Fyi: I still remember how my uncle and I used to sneak out to the theater, in order to watch the most newest installments of The Karate Kid.

I understand your frustration; however, you could see this Xianxia produced tv adaptation as a slow and light…
I hope that they didn’t turn the televised storyline into a straight one.
For me, that would be way too much of a stretch from the novel’s original storyline.

I do understand due to Chinese restrictions and censorship; it could not be depicted as a full pledged BL...
But at least, the romance between the 2 main lead characters should be ambiguous, as it was in The Untamed.

Oh!
This dialogue is making me nostalgic:)...

For me, it was my uncle Michel. He was an extreme avid of anything Asian martial arts; that includes films.
Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris with those flamboyant colored film sets, iridescent costumes and over-the-top storylines... were my childhood.

By the time, the world was introduced to the beautiful special effects and imageries of CGI...
Uncle Michel had already passed away. We didn’t get to enjoy together the wonders of:
-Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
-House of Flying Daggers
-Nirvana in Fire
-Six Flying Dragons
-Ever Night
-The Swordsman

I apologize; I rambled on:)...
Your comment brought so many memories.

Same for me...
Greek and Roman mythologies were also two of my favorite subjects; hence, my profound affinity for Xianxia and Wuxia storylines.

Hey, it has been a while.

Around the 770 pages in volume 2. Work has been a little hectic around this time of the year. Not much time for reading.

Wow!!!
That was beautiful.
I have not seen fight choreography sequences like these in Korean films since Six Flying Dragons.
The storyline was clear enough for the limited timeframe and Jang Hyuk, as always, was fantastic.

This was the Joseon version of the film series, Taken.
“Be very careful of whom you mess with”

The English version:
“I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you're looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that will be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you.”

Everything you wrote is unfortunately very true.

Regrettably, what makes the world go around is not the rotational inertia but profits and fame.

We can only hope that as long as there is a demand for BL productions; there will always be a group of writers, producers, directors and genuine actors/actresses who will go against the status quo...
Not because of profits and fame but because of the artistry itself.

I don’t really know on what kind of explanation they might have came up for that scene...
But I REALLY hope... that explanation is somehow closed to the novel’s storyline.

Indeed,
“Teacher for one day, father for a lifetime.”

Their romantic relationship does not bother me whatsoever, however, when the emotions were not understood or reciprocated in MR’s lifetime as an emperor... that was when it was a bit controversial for me.

Yes, taking siblings as mates was the norm in many ancient societies such as, the ancient Egyptian royalties and Pharos. However, it was frowned upon in the ancient Roman society; mostly because of the systematic degradation of the closed-off gene pool.

As unforgiving that it might sound...
His sister.

As a male disciple... being in love with your master and as a brother... being in love with your sister are both social taboos.

The phycological damages of those actions, either historical or fictional, have to be tremendous and irreversible.
