Yeah, all I can say is, for a Saintess and the "State Guardian".... the two leads really seemed quite useless…
I love XuXu... Always has and always will... However in this drama, his Li Xuan‘s character was hard to swallow for me. His character was like the sad puppy love’s character from “The Legends” but minus all the brains, all the smarts and all the strength.
*The other thing that annoyed me was his only remaining family blood relative in that world (his dragon emperor/uncle) never approached his only nephew. I understood that the 2 clans could no longer interact because of their bloody histories but at least, the writers could have given us a scene where they are secretly meeting.
This one is pretty bad even if you don't take it seriously.I'm guessing it's getting an 8+ (as of Aug 9 2020)…
I completely agree with you. The Su You Lian’s character was completely awkward. Her character felt so out of place.
We had the male lead (XuXu) who was an emotional wreck... At the opposite of that spectrum, we had the female lead (Wu Jia Yi) who was as dry as the Sahara Desert...
I think that they had better chemistry and better synergy together in Arsenal Military Academy. Even though, her character was not his love interest in that drama.
lol same i really think it is re-watchable and i really want to watch again for xu kai and wu jiayi (and prince…
Seriously, It was like, “Cry me a river XuXu...” I thought he was about to create a whole new Yellow River. Way too many crying scenes for a male lead character.
I think it was a must for someone to die in this drama and it was pretty good timing in my opinion but I was just…
As I stated before, the understanding of the Leqing’s character is up to each viewer’s perception.
What I noticed with her character in the early episodes, even before Lige came into the story, it is an overzealous middle sibling who was overtly and exaggeratedly displaying her filial affections. Those abundant displays of filial affection have always felt odd to me. Like, she was always fearing that she might loose it all at any second...
Then again, these are my own perceptions of her character; and obviously, not every viewer will agree with them. As for my wording... For that, I have to say that was a first...:) Hey, I am always open for improvements.

I am not making “Some general assumptions about what you say...” I responded to your comment by telling you my own thoughts on adoption; whether, it is related to this specific storyline or not. It is up to each viewer’s perception.
The Leqing’s character was not able to be satisfied with her life, whether before or after Lige came back, because she never came to terms with her original status. That is why, she was always overly and exaggeratedly affectionate toward her adopted parents for fear of abandonment.

I don’t want to sound cruel or anything... However, is it not all adopted children are really replacements for the legitimate blood lines? I think as an adopted if one can not make peace or come to terms with this unpleasant reality, one will never be happy with his or her life.
That broad is so funny or she is just plain stupid...
Why your husband would abandon you (Which, he didn’t) let see: - During a dangerous situation, you left with another man without calling for his name once. - You have multiple suitors and you were never afraid to display them in from of him - You were looking for true love even when you were with him - Your feelings seem to flip-flop more than a presidential candidate - knowing there was a rebellious coup d’état planned by your father; however, you never told him
*One thing that I find infuriating in Asian dramas, is how flip-floppy, wishy-washy, indecisive and irresolute these characters (Men and Women) are with their feelings. *They seem to enjoy the attentions.

I agree with you. The Leqing’s character did not make sense. A rich and pampered girl who used to hide her vicious tendencies in front of her adopted military family. How that girl managed to survive every time? How that girl managed to infiltrate everywhere without being discovered, like she was a highly trained undercover spy? And how that girl kept on outsmarting everyone, including the REAL trained assassin...? The scenarios were beyond unbelievable... THOSE DID NOT MAKE ANY SENSE!
It’s interesting how some actors are instantly and immediately adored by us, no matter of the characters they are playing... And some actors are just some tastes to be acquired...
Tobe Lee is definitely a taste that I am still trying to acquire. I just can’t get pass his RigorMortis demeanor. Even when he plays a somehow witty character, like in this drama.
The only great thing that came out of “Royal Nirvana” is Zheng Ye Cheng.
In his romance dramas, He has romance flowing through his veins... Just one look from him conveyed a thousand years of love. I nicknamed him, Triple Threats’ Zheng Ye Cheng: The man can sing. The man can act. The man can protect you.
Graduated from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, majoring in Chinese opera and an expert in Wushu martial arts. Indeed, there is no better candidate for any costume drama.
The trailer brought me here and I might give it a try for one vain reason only and that's Zheng Ye Cheng, who…

Or any husbands who kiss their wives that way...I know that he does not suppose to feel any emotions so he must…
Well, whatever disorder he is suffering from or whatever diagnosis the untrained audience has already for him... It is too early for me to call him a psychopath. I need irrefutable evidence first.
To me, he has always looked like some older brother or cousin of Feng ShaoFeng.
The pastel color pallets and both OSTs were really nice.

However, her performance was not up to par in this one.
It was very disappointing.
