I am so glad that I dropped “Bad and Crazy” for this, instead. I am always fascinated by these futuristic Sci-Fi types of genre that deal with advanced science and technology, space exploration, time travel, parallel universes and extraterrestrial life. Episode 1, so far… Very interesting and very intriguing.
Not just overrated… Exaggeratedly overrated. Watching “Through the Darkness” before whatever the hell this is… It was a very bad idea. A very very very bad idea.
Right off the bat, I am already turned off by the unnecessary, overzealous and excessively impudent female character’s behavior… Who is supposed to be the male lead’s subordinate. I really don’t give a rata$$ about their past or current relationship… Or whether the storyline is fictional or nonfictional… These types of behaviors (Apparently, loved by DramaLand’s writers) are unprofessional and are inappropriate in any scenario.
PS: I have never been that happy to watch an alcoholic/schizophrenic “Lèche-cul” getting himself beat up by his own alter-ego…🥹😅😂🤣 I am definitely more interested in “K” than in Mr. alcoholic/schizophrenic “Lèche-cul.”
After the massive disappointment with the Kdrama version of Criminal Minds, aired in 2017; I was a bit skeptical about Through the Darkness. However, i am so glad to say… I was so very wrong. Through the Darkness is a well executed psychological crime/thriller production; well-worthy of the successfully and critically acclaimed American series, Criminal Minds.
Kim Nam Gil gave us a mind-blowing performance of a lifetime. Adapted from the autobiography of Korea's first criminal profiler, Kwon Il Yong’s field experiences… Kim Nam Gil’s genuine empathic character, Song Ha Young, certainly did him justice.
Great production, great directing and a well-versed cast, all around… Starting with the main leading cast to all of the supporting cast. I definitely will not mind watching a second season of Through the Darkness.
I am taking my time watching all the episodes because it would be an agony to wait for new episodes to come out,…
Totally agree. I also told myself until I watch The Blue Whisper: Part 1 and 2 with complete English subs… I am not going to touch Who Rules The World. Dang! I have not even started Novoland: Pearl Eclipse, yet.
Also,As much as I enjoy watching Tofu’s sweet expressions and his self-unawareness…This main couple is doing…
The series is certainly doing a remarkable job portraying the reality for most LGBT cultures, in general… No doubt about that.
What I can not fantom is the writing behind that Nut’s character. No matter of his preferences or his inclinations… This character is simply unlikable.
So the thing is...I have given this show my undivided attention for over 900 minutes. We are talking longer than…
Also, As much as I enjoy watching Tofu’s sweet expressions and his self-unawareness… This main couple is doing absolutely nothing for me. Besides the awkwardness between them, I simply can not feel any chemistry (ZERO). Nut’s mercurial and volatile temper had turned me off, long ago. Even his prospective character’s growth and development do not excite me, at all.
So the thing is...I have given this show my undivided attention for over 900 minutes. We are talking longer than…
In the early episodes, I have called Nut a “Prick” without any knowledge of his past and his background.
10 episodes in, let me repeat myself once again… So now, with a better understanding of his past, his background and his family dynamic… Nut is still a major “Prick.” I absolutely have no pity, no consideration nor the slightest hint of attraction for his character. Absolutely NONE.
The thing that upsets me the most is when Gen asked Tofu… “What did you do to make him that mad?” And there was me… “What the hell!” For the trillion times, the fact that Nut’s violent tendencies have been disregarded as… “He is just a temperamental person with a complicated past” is simply baffling🤨.
I have to admit that it is really, really, really hard to ignore Nut’s mercurial temper tantrums. Sad past,…
That is the thing. If Tofu as a “Teddy Bear” could be scared of their dog’s violent outbursts in the early episodes… Why not also be scared of and stay cleared of Nut’s violent outbursts?
Anyway… As you said, as Tofu is developing and showing more and more human behaviors; if his laissé-aller attitude toward Nut does not change… That would be a major problem.
I have to admit that it is really, really, really hard to ignore Nut’s mercurial temper tantrums. Sad past,…
We are not watching the same drama. With the exception of Gen who, from times to times, tells Nut “What’s up…” Everyone else seems to tolerate and indulge Nut’s mercurial behaviors.
Indeed, we are all in most cases, a product or a byproduct of our environments or of our upbringings. However, they do not justify nor dictate our behaviors nor our actions.
Sorry to say… Even with a better understanding of Nut’s past, background and family dynamic… I absolutely have no pity, no consideration nor the slightest hint of attraction for his character. Absolutely NONE.
As a matter of fact, I even feel uncomfortable watching Tofu with his typical abused lover complex… “It is my fault that I got physically abused🤨.”
I have to admit that it is really, really, really hard to ignore Nut’s mercurial temper tantrums. Sad past,…
I sure hope that it is not a culture thing… Because getting physically and mentally abused by your loved ones should never be resonated with anyone… Nor be tolerated by anyone… No matter the culture, the background, the gender, the past or the history.

Do we need to be a MDL member to do that?
Because I can not find that option on their profiles.
Exaggeratedly overrated.

*Let see if I can keep that promise🥹.
How long are you going to blame your upbringing for your present character?
NO.
Your unfortunate past and your painful upbringing do not and I mean DO NOT justify nor dictate your current actions, unless you choose so…
What I can not fantom is the writing behind that Nut’s character.

I misread that.
I didn’t realize that person was only talking about Nut’s late father.
But I still insist that Nut is a major Prick, though.
