This was so much better than I thought it was going to be. Really impressed so far. The source manga is an old yaoi classic, but it begins in a way that is also very much a product of its time and I really hope that the non-con kiss in the hospital is as far as they'll go down that road, unlike the manga... It was already toned down in the anime adaptation, IIRC. I like that they've added so much backstory to this LA, it makes Jin/Junta more relatable than in the manga. They've really fleshed out the characters a lot, Akin/Takato also already has more depth to him. I loved that they kept the wings/feathers theme for Jin (in case anyone was confused, it's a metaphor for how dazzling he looks in Akin's/Takato's eyes). Will definitely continue watching!
What did you expect from GMMTV, lol. It's not Hollywood or an S-budget C-drama. I went in expecting it to be about…
Haha yes. Although I've seen even worse butterflies in C-dramas, not as plain looking, maybe, but moving around as if they were paper cutouts on a stick... At least this one looked fairly okay flying around
The plot is fine so far but why is CGI so bad š

I'm sorry other people were rude to you when they called you out for being rude (oh the irony). But I do feel…
You do have a point about good looks in a romance. In real life, we might not fall in love with people solely because of their looks, but once we are in love with them, they will look good in our eyes, even if they could never earn their living on the runway or the movies. In romance dramas, for the viewer, the good looks of the leads is supposed to echo that feeling of how someone stands out for us above other people. It makes it easier for us to experience that feeling, of understanding why they fall for each other. But if either or both of the leads don't appeal to us at all, it's harder for us to get "into" the romance and engage with it. I'd like to think that I'm not that shallow IRL, with ordinary people, but when watching romantic plot lines, I absolutely prefer it if both leads are attractive to me. So yeah.
Not going to watch this because i think the ukes/bottoms are unattractive imo. Especially the one in the purple!…
I'm sorry other people were rude to you when they called you out for being rude (oh the irony). But I do feel that commenting on people's looks *is* kind of problematic. I find a lot of BL actors not really to my liking, it's a personal preference thing, but I try to refrain from making my commentary all about their looks, since that's a trend I dislike and find damaging in a wider perspective. Even when it comes to celebrities who literally live off their looks. It contributes to increasingly unhealthy beauty standards and reinforces toxic discourse about them, IMO, leading to unrealistic expectations and low self-esteem in a a lot of people.
So yeah, you're absolutely entitled to your opinion, like everyone else. I just wanted to point out that commenting negatively on someone's looks isn't all that harmless or innocent. Of course you can still express those opinions, but then other people are also allowed to react to them (although if people call someone rude but is even ruder in return, they kind of invalidate their own argument.)
I liked Your Sky, and I like the actors. But am I the only one who though that was a terrible trailer? I mean,…
Normally a "pilot" in Thai industry terms is more like a pitch trailer, made to gauge fan interest and attract sponsorship. It's usually made long before they actually start filming the series. So when/if the actual series comes out, it may look significantly different.
I see so many people in the comments saying this is a BL version, but have they actually announced that it is? Because the og movie is not, and this doesn't have the "romance" tag.
Will supposedly premiere on VIU in March https://x.com/BLUPDATE2022/status/1884204436471628124
The synopsis in the tweet sounds pretty different from the one here on MDL: "Fifa, a student preparing for his university who was tasked to take care of this grandma in the province during the summer break where he met Chief Hem, a forest ranger."
