I keep thinking if on her wedding night she had embraced her husband. Ask him to give her time & let them slowly get to know and eventually love or even respect each other.

But she made her bed, by making bad choices one after each other.
It's truly sad.

She is risking all that, because at least it was a choice she made for herself.

But she could have tried to make it work with her husband.

This is true. I read Blossom of Power & watched the show & I think a better job was done adapting the novel. Many changes were made but it kept the essence of the story.

I get that. There is a bit of light heartedness in the novel.
But I guess it comes off my as a mockery to me & I can't take them serious sometimes.

Now I'm not a novel purists, as a season cdrama watcher and reader. I already see this as a different story from the novel.

I'm just curious about the change. 🤔

Well I'm not talking about The Heir & I personally didn't watch that show.

I wonder why the directors and screen writers choose the comedic route. I'm currently reading the novel and it seem more serious.

I don't consider their relationship to be cheating. He was working for her and she saved him out of pity.

I believe she started to love him and she envisioned their future with them growing old and having kids. She believed he felt the same. But then she saw he had lingering feelings for Qin Zhezhen and she asked him out right about his feelings. He fumbled in his response, which made her sad & angry.
That's when her pride took over, because why would a Princess love her husband & pine for him while he is in love with someone I believe was her though process.
If PW had understood his feelings for his Li Rong sooner & told her they could have lived to old age in harmony.

Su Rongsing was a eunuch and her chief steward. So he worked for her and ended up becoming her companion as she and Pei Weixan had their disagreements.

Why can't she be angry and sad that her brother was murdered? Her brother wasn't mistreating or neglecting her that she would rejoice that he was dead. He was someone that was always kind, loving & supportive towards her. She knew him her entire life. Fan Xian for a few month's.

Why is the Ml lead anger and sadness over his friends death justified but not Waners over her beloved brother...

Did we all forget that Teng Zi Jing also try to kill the ML before they were friends?
Lin Gong deserved to die yes because he was doing some shady things and wrong for plotting Fan Xians dead.

Fan Xian is to be blamed for his marriage being in the present state. When he found out that Lin Gong planned to kill him & got Teng Zi killed he should have told her what her brother did. When she came to him & asked him if he killed her brother & he said NO. He could have told her Wu Zhu killed him but not under my orders. He could have also said I wanted to kill him because he tried to kill me & killed my friend.

He did none of that because he knew how she would react & he wanted so badly to be with her he was prepared to lie forever.

Maybe if he had confessed they still would have been married but lived as strangers or she could have come to terms with everything. Because when she found out, she understands the cause & effects. Acknowledges that her brother was wrong.

All in all Waner has the right to grieve & be angry at Fan Xian.

So for the people saying he should divorce her. He shouldn't have married her pretending that nothing happened with the brother.

I think Waner suits the ML very well and I enjoy their scenes together...

The way he grew up without love (I know his granny lived him) & then to finally go be with family but everyone wants to kill you. Has to be exhausting.

Was the 1st friendly face he saw when he reached the capital & she was pretty. Every encounter he had with her was like a breath of fresh air. As she wasn't scheming against him or had a bunch of expectations for his life...

Remember his dream is to live a safe and peaceful life...When they eventually meet & basically start dating he finds that peace & he feels loved. He likes telling stories and she listens & enjoys them...She listens to some of his issues that he's having in the capital but he doesn't tell her everything. She also give him good advice or sometimes shows a different perspective. He never had to worry that she would kill him or set him up to be killed.

Nothing is wrong with a woman being sensitive or naive. Not everyone has to or will be a big fight, aggressive & big brained. Also that's not the type of wife the ml wants. He wanted a nice sweet wife that would depend on him & he could just be silly with. Waner is just that...
