Park Jae on is of my favorite kdrama character….and now I have found his female version!! Lee Doona❤️ My…
I don't think Jae On an Doona are that similar though - Je On was way more toxic and was leading on a lot of women, flirted left and right even though he knew it hurts Nabi. Doona was also written as way more complex, and her side of the story is explored much more than Jae On's was. Doona is not nearly as toxic. They are both very interesting archetypes, but I don't think they are the same type of character.
This drama and Durian’s Affair are the only time travel dramas where you get women from Joseon time traveling…
I don't really divide them into male and female time travellers, but "Moon in the Day" also has future time travel, this hasn't been done in like 10 years, and now there are 3 k-dramas with that theme
Who would have thought that the best BDSM movie would be a Korean production starring two idols, and yet here we are. The chemistry is amazing, I really wanted them to get together! This is the most responsible kink representation I have ever seen. I wish it was a tv show and not a movie, should have been longer. The relationship starts off really quickly, because it is a movie with limited run time. I would have loved to see them get to know each other slower.
This is such a unique and brilliant show! Very dark thriller, not for the faint-hearted. The visual style is amazing (and also changes with each episode, since they are all told from different character's perspectives). The acting is impeccable from everyone (Nana always picks such sapphic roles, she knows what she is doing). The plot is absolutely unhinged, in the tradition of violent Korean and Japanese cinema! I do not understand why the rating is so low, people can't handle it when k-dramas are explicit! Yes, it's not a tropey romance about a CEO who dates his subordinate, which has been done a million times... But when an original k-drama comes out people hate it. Mask Girl is a masterpiece that paints outside the lines and does the unexpected crazy thing. Sorry you guys don't appreciate real cinema with complex female protagonists. Major trigger warning for people who don't want to see violence and sex, this is a thriller and is clearly not everyone's cup of tea. And yes this show is very gay. Take this review either as a glowing recommendation or a warning not to watch, you already know if this is your genre.
An aesthetically pleasing slow burn study of one woman's life. Not your typical k-drama, more of an indie movie vibe. Really well made, I did not know this is where the story would go. Watch it for complex female characters, beautiful visual language and a unique story. I watched the 8 episode version, because that is the director's cut and I wanted to watch her vision of the story. I kind of get why there is a 6 episode version though, the story moves very slow. Good for Bae Suzy for getting such an interesting role!
I randomly clicked on it, but it's actually pretty good. Buddy comedy about straight dumb cop and a chaotic gay ghost. I did not expect the ending to be such a tear jerker. I am not sure whether this was good or bad queer representation, but it certainly covers the topic. All car chases are CGI, I have never seen that before, but I guess is is cheaper than filming it. Pretty funny movie, a mix of every genre possible - a lot of comedy, supernatural, cop action, queer topics, a bit of horror. Oh and if you want to see naked male butts, this movie is for you!
OK, I wanted to add something about this show: it is a great gym motivator! I have been working out harder and with more enthusiasm since I watched it, lol
Very refreshing to watch a movie with a protagonist who is a coward.
