Nai’s trust in Dan is understandable, given that they both have similar conditions, but I wish their friendship had developed more gradually. It seemed too convenient that Nai was drawn to Dan without knowing anything about him, and that they coincidentally had the same condition. It would have been more convincing if they had shown how Nai saw the shadow haunting Dan or felt the ominous presence, and that sparked his interest. This is an example of lazy writing. Another flaw is the way Josh’s interest in horror was introduced. I get that they wanted to show that Josh is a horror fan and that’s why he was willing to believe Dan, but they only established this in episode 1 and when Nai mentioned it to Dan. It would have been better if they had shown how Josh used his knowledge of horror to help Dan, or how he had heard of similar cases to Dan’s and was curious about them. That would have made his belief in Dan more plausible.

You are harming the queer community by adding pedophilic elements that will increase the discrimination that gay people already face in South Korea. It is not straight-washing because there is no romance and you cannot assume someone’s sexuality, it is 2024. The novel was based on the movie which had straight characters (it had romance), so the original story was straight, but the novel made it worse by introducing pedophilic elements.
