But the new Emperor had compassion for the Yuelo people and he also acknowledged how hard they fought in the war, so I think the new Emperor would have pardoned the Yuelo people anyway. Also this ending doesn’t mean that there won’t be injustices and conspiracies in the future. The second prince (I forgot his name) was clearly ambitious and wanted to get the throne too, so I can imagine that he would try to become Emperor in the future. And WZ being dead he cannot do anything to keep up justice and peace from the grave, and he cannot protect JC and his son, who might both be in danger due to their bloodline. So imo WZ’s sacrifice was not thought through. Making a sad ending ist just way easier than make a plausible and satisfying happy or open ending. So I really wish they’d given this story a different ending.

I heard that too! But the book has a HE, we will see. I‘m not so happy with the pairing with PX either. I‘m not sure about the chemistry between them. Also I‘m not so sure about RJL pairing with Wang Herun for his newest drama. Imo he has the best chemistry with actresses like Li Landi or Bai Lu. We will see.

I have a severe case of „what ifs“. Can’t stop thinking about it. Now I wish WZ and JC hadn’t resolved their personal issues but everyone is alive and we get a season two where the new peace is threatened and the three of them plus Ziming have to work together again and JC and WZ will resolve their issues in the course of that ❤️

I didn’t read the entire novel, just pieces, so the changes didn’t really bother me, well some did. But imo Pei Yan was still depicted as a formidable opponent and a clever strategist. They could have reduced the obsession part.

I agree with your points and I had a few issues with this drama too, but it deserves way more than 6.8 imo, if at least for the high quality and the actors’ outstanding performances.

They said that judging from the eyes of JC and her son WZ was still alive in the last scene where they come home from visiting patients. But I don’t see that at all, on the contrary!
