Title You Are My Glory Spoiler
Hi! For me personally, I think YT's friends attended the wedding by virtue of working in the Aerospace Institute…
You realistically can only take what the drama presents to you. I also read the novel. Below I copied any parts of it talking about this subject that shows that this was NEVER the case.

Based on the actual dialogue spoken on the matter in the drama, you can only determine things based on these facts:

。o°✥✤✣ ✣✤✥°o。
𝑸𝑱𝑱 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒍𝒎 𝒔𝒆𝒕
"If we participate in this group wedding, then we'll be able to put all our troubles behind us. First of all, we don't have to worry about what everyone thinks of us. We don't even have to book the banquet ourselves. Besides we'll only need to invite those closest to us as guests. If this isn't a dream wedding, then what will be?"

𝑳𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒀𝒖 𝑻𝒖 𝒂𝒔𝒌𝒔:
"Before we talk about appropriateness, have you even taken your parents and also Sister Ling into consideration?"

𝑩𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒍 𝑸𝑱𝑱 𝒔𝒂𝒚𝒔:
"If you want to keep it secret, then its hard to get it done. I want to invite only a few close friends..."
。o°✥✤✣ ✣✤✥°o。

In no where did it ever say that only family could attend. It's 'close friends' and family. QJJ wanted to keep it simple.

Also, note, it's not obvious but I know from the novel that:

"𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒑’𝒔 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒑 𝒘𝒆𝒅𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒇𝒖𝒍. 𝑬𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒆𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒊𝒓 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒍 𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒍 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 9.30."

NOTE: IT DOESN'T SAY CO-WORKERS OF CATC THAT ARE FRIENDS. IT SIMPLY SAYS 'FRIENDS'. ~ likely there was just a limit to the # of guests. But the idea that Yu Tu's co-workers are the ONLY ones that can attend and QJJ only gets to invite her parents... *smh* Forget the "celebrity" part... if I was 1 of the other 9 BRIDES that were having a wedding there and I couldn't even invite my BFF to attend, but he gets 5-6 of his co-workers attending, I'd be pissed off to say the least.

Btw, you see the parents heading off down the stairs from the venue before we see Yu Tu/QJJ in the lounge since they were going to participate in the airshow!!

Further, you have to make the assumption, based on the fact there were SIX COMPLETE STRANGERS up in the hotel room Yu Tu/QJJ used to get prepared, and they were the only ones helping her put on her wedding dress, jewelry, and make up??? THIS IS TOP SECRET RIGHT???

Are you trying to tell me that QJJ's assistant wouldn't at the very LEAST be in that hotel room helping QJJ prep for her wedding? That neither, at the very minimum, would Sister Ling, & Xiao Zhu be up there with these SIX MAKEUP ARTISTS helping her get herself ready??? Really???

I'll put it to you another way. The ONLY other person that took part in the WEDDING DISCUSSION between Yu Tu and QJJ's PARENTS was XIAO ZHU!!! She's over there telling the parents that her and Sister Ling will do everything to make sure that privacy is maintained and that QJJ has her perfect wedding... and they don't even help her put on her wedding dress because.... what.... it's a PRIVATE VENUE and only aerospace "FRIENDS" are allowed???? But she can have SIX MAKEUP ARTISTS in a hotel room??? Come on now.. that's just not right at all.

。o°✥✤✣ ✣✤✥°o。
In the NOVEL things pertaining to the wedding indicate that both close friends and family are participating. In no where in the novel nor this drama adaptation specifically written by the author does it say only 'co-workers' of potential spouses that are 'friends' working at CATC are allowed to attend. That any NON-CATC potential spouse can ONLY have their parents attend. They have the wedding at a local hotel near the base. They're not ON the institute lot. It's not PRIVATE to that extent.

Also, there is NEVER any indication that Sister Ling & Xiao Zhu helped prep, pay for, and set up ANOTHER venue, since the whole purpose of this wedding was to be SIMPLE, not for others to LATER attend. It just didn't happen.

Per the written novel, QJJ specifically discusses not having to organize any freaking banquet. They didn't do that later on at all. The group wedding was it in total! PERIOD. lol.:

“There will be no need to worry about the media. We won’t be nitpicked on the details of the wedding. We won’t need to organize the wedding banquet. We will only need to invite a few close friends and relatives to be our guests. If this is not a dream wedding, then what is a dream wedding? I am being very considerate. When Big Sister Ling finds out, she’ll definitely be moved to tears.”

In the novel, the indication that she invited friends is there, but we are NEVER given the list. Of course you have the assumption made, his friends, and her friends. Are you telling me after PeiPei took a month's worth of Yu Tu's salary to keep their relationship PRIVATE paying RED PACKETS to their classmates that saw them kissing, and who said she would give them it back "...as a wedding gift..." didn't attend the actual wedding, as a close friend who can keep things private???

In the book...
"Qiao Jing Jing stood up. “Dad and Mom and the others have arrived?”

And as written in the novel, those who attend:
"Our parents, friends, and relatives will watch in the audience with great joy."

No where does it ever say the QJJ's close friends couldn't attend.

SO, no, not buying the explanation as to why they were left out of the scenes. It's just a faux pas on their part.

Why do they expect a quiet & calm character to show emotions like a loud character? His character is supposed…
I agree. A lot of viewers have been conditioned to the Chinese version of the makjang tropes but, unlike k-drama, 'melo' isn't a genre, it's THE template standard for the most part. Everything is chaos, people yelling at each other, scheming against one another, lying, cheating, stealing, being fake af, and this is presented as the norm. So, when you have something that's more based in reality, calm, and soothing, everyone will be like, "...this is SO boring..." or "...these actors can't act..." etc etc.

Fact is, they like all that LOUD, OBNOXIOUS, NONSENSE! You can tell with the way they engage on social media platforms where they don't have to show their actual faces, while they talk shit about other people and start fans wars, or just insult someone simply because they choose to live a life different from THEIR expectations... as if they have a right to tell others how to live simply because they exist online. =/ They go online to point fingers, because, for the most part, in their real lives, at home, or at work, it sucks, and they suck... and it's more entertaining to see people worse off than them, so they can AT LEAST find a glimmer of hope in their lives.... ....of course, I'm over exaggerating... but on some level, some, if not most of this is true. ;)

Imo, Yu tu's feelings started from the bar scene where she sended him the Wine bottle and after that they kinda…
Naw... that's just when he put his guard down, and felt like he could open up to her. He came to her home to give her back the bottle of wine because he didn't know it was a prop. He didn't go there with any particular intentions. You know this because "Panicky" texted asking who she is and he texted back "...an old classmate. We're just getting to know each other..." That's an admission that he doesn't know her very well yet. At the end of the drinking scene, he's still in his own world looking out the window, feeling sorry for himself. Her assistant did acknowledge he started treating her different, but that was more a nod to their growing friendship, nothing romantic yet.

Yu Tu actually recognizes his feelings for her after the dinner with his Aerospace buddies. Sitting in front of the subway rail, he has the choice to take the subway 45 minutes back to his home, and sit around feeling sorry for himself, or opt to take the train 45 minutes up to her house, late at night, and ask her to go out, before he then takes the subway, doing the 2 transfers, and 1hr 30mins back to go home to bed. He asks her out to the movies....which IS a legit date, even if neither of them acknowledged it as such, and pretended it was just two single friends hanging out on Singles' Day.

I believe they’re actually there, but not focused on.
Naw, I rewatched it several times and stop, paused every second. If they were there they weren't put on film. There is not 1 sec of footage during the wedding scenes, from start to finish that include any of these 3.

Ngl, there is 1 thing about the wedding that kinda bothered me. Only his friends are part of the ceremony. You don't see PeiPei, let alone Sister Ling, & Xiao Zhu, her assistant anywhere there in the entire thing. Not even with the makeup artists. We just have to assume they're somewhere standing around watching it. Are we to believe those 3 couldn't show up because either they would or their presence would disclose the fact they are there? I don't know, but it felt wrong.

Setting YY and Reba aside.
Ngl, all my favorite Yu Tu without QJJ scenes involve Professor Zhang Zhi Xue. From when Professor blasts him at the restaurant, to when he blasts him for keeping things from him. From when Professor tells him he makes him so angry he can't stand him, to humming with happiness. But my favorite is the line, "...this is a wedding!! Not guerilla warfare!!...." I bust out laughing every time I see that scene. lol.

i agree with you about Yu Tu, but for his other dramas and movie, i still think that way.
I don't care about other dramas because most of them I haven't seen as you can check my Watch List. I'm not a YY fan, or a Reba fan. I enjoy what I enjoy. I watch a drama because I'm drawn in by the story or the synopsis. The actors either make or break that, and I'm honest with my opinions and interpretations. I don't 'sugar-coat' stuff because I fan someone.

All I can say is that, it's obvious that YY has grown as an actor, and from the bts, a director as well. I fully expect, at some point, YY will start directing stuff completely himself and become a force in the entertainment industry in China after watching all of this.

Not forgetting that great performance of expressions from him on how hard it was for him when he had to reject…
I already stated... during the 2nd rejection, the minute he realizes he has to answer her, and what his answer will be, in the close up shot, you can legit see the sudden glistening in the corner of his eyes, known as the inner canthus, which is an area of the eye uncommon to see in Asian people.

I point this out because it shows literally how hard he is holding himself back while he's rejecting her. He puts his head down at the end because he is just holding on by a thread and he doesn't want to see her cry or for her to see the tears in his eye. The minute he realizes she's gone, I said a dozen times, he released that one single tear from that eye, and YY did that so masterful and beautiful...If you didn't notice any of that, you're blind. ...and then to realize he goes from this scene to the one at the bus stop that he filmed and directed himself, that the director edited into his own drama just speaks volumes. YY has come a LONG way, and is a major talent in China. No doubts here!

Couldn’t agree more with you. I’ve been converted *_*. So initially I wasn’t very convinced with his acting.…
I love all the songs on the OST. But my favorite is Chen Xue Ran's 'Born As An Eagle'. The lyrics, along with the energy of that song, really captures Yu Tu's work ambitions and drive:

When the sun goes around the open space of the other half of the earth
Please wake me up
I want to see dawn

When the frost falls on the warmest place in autumn
Please wake me up
I want to be the same

[Pre-chorus]
Scattered among the golden leaves
Become one with the soil
Falling into the boundless sky
As the morning sun dissipates

[Chorus]
Born to be an eagle with wings that cover the sky
Why do you want to learn to crawl with your head down
Rising pillar
Raging fire swaying in my eyes
I was born an eagle to go against the wind
Why keep your head down and fight for winning or losing
Around the clock
Through no man's land
Moving forward with weight is my life's destiny

[Verse]
When the sun goes around the open space of the other half of the earth
Please wake me up
I want to see dawn

When the stars fall in the strangest place in the universe
Please wake me up
I'm afraid it will be forgotten

[Pre-chorus]
[Chorus]
I was born an eagle
Why do you want to learn to crawl with your head down
Rising....
Raging fire swaying in my eyes
We were born eagles
Against the wind
Why keep your head down and fight for winning or losing
Around the clock
Through no man's land
Moving forward with weight
Is my life's destiny

That song also encapsulates the scene with his Finance classmates, and all his struggles, and why he's willing to go to these lengths. The fact that the first time this song was played in the drama was after he rejected QJJ for the 2nd time, and headed to the desert for work under emotional duress, wasn't lost on me. Even though he was in turmoil, he still focused on his job and did well despite it. ;)

I'm rewatching again and at Ep. 30.

ISTG any who says YY can't act, is wooden, and can't facially emote needs to watch the 2nd proposal. All his micro expressions are absolutely perfect. Perfect in that, he wears Yu Tu's heart on his sleeve. Without 1 word you know what he's thinking.

It's also not just 1 series of emotions either. It flows through a multitude of emotions. First, heavy breathing because he's anxious. Second, pointed concern that's hiding a tepid insecurity. Third, once questioned full-fledge embarrassment and insecurity. Proceed all that with overwhelmingly touched to the point of almost tears. Then to unbelievable admiration, adoration, and unconditional loving care. Only to end with tearful commitment.

Process that, and you try to do a better job acting that scene and I'll tell you, unless you're already a professional, you can't do it.

They act very naturally around each other, whether it is from familiarity of working together so closely or dating…
Yeah, I'm not big on shipping. If you're on my friends list, you know this about me. I like dramas. I enjoy watching actors play couples well. I don't like it when the acting and chemistry and just the way the drama characterizes a romantic relationship isn't realistic. Like, when a g/f rejects intimacy with her b/f, and I'm not talking sex, I mean merely holding each others hand or a kiss on the cheek. Like, why are you in a relationship with someone you're physically repulsed by to that extent??? That's why a drama like this soothes my heart, as well as all the other Gu Man novel drama adaptations. There's at least a realistic quality to them...but let me say, I never shipped YY & ZS, nor ZH & ZLY, nor TT & WC!!

However, when it comes to YY & Reba, THEY are the ones to blame for the over-the-top 🤡🍈🍉🍑 kinds of reactions they're getting for their cpf. They generated that on their own by their personal decisions, and their mutual studios' decisions, over-&-above what Tencent required of them, for the month of August, quite frankly. Let's all be honest about that. They had the ability, ESPECIALLY UNDER THE CURRENT WEIBO/GOVT CELEBRITY CLIMATE, to act and be different, and less "showy". You feel me?

It frankly start, and became apparent, when they mutually posted on their PERSONAL weibo accounts, each others childhood photos. Come on now. They're still up too! It would be 1 thing if he posted his OWN pic and vice versa, but that's not what happened. He posted hers, She posted his. Then the valentines day at Disneyland that was setup mutually by their personal studios, not Tencent. ??? They gave Tencent the rights to the outtakes, but they themselves personally controlled those events. Etc. Etc. Etc. Even some of their solo fans are quite open about how different they're acting with regards to each other, on stage, off stage, plus CP promos. They had other choices, but these were the ones they offered to the public.

So, forgive me for tilting my head a bit towards the end of this drama when I start calculating it all up then realize how much intimate skinship these two willingly had in this drama. Hey, it's not like they cannot have a say in dumbing the skinship down. Reba's request to not have a kiss scene with Wu Lei due to his age, comes to mind. Their adaptation was revised to incorporate that request, along with a couple of love birds to boot.

So, yeah, when the drama is over, like everyone is noting, and pretending as if these 2 have moved on from the drama, well then you need to ask yourselves a few questions on how much this couple really wants EVERYONE to move on as well... Like after YY says, "final post for August" and everyone's like, "...how do I move on from YAMG..." then his studio using a pic of him from their co-photoshoot as their weibo background photo, and Reba's studio does the same thing, and they're matching looks again, and it's the SAME freaking photoshoot they choose? Who does that??? They're not stupid. The studios have tact. They know what and what not causes fanwars. But to start September, this is their personal choices. You don't want to stir the shit up, you don't continue to do these kinds of things that feed the trolls. SERIOUSLY, I mean it. They both are essentially feeding the trolls, and you have to ask yourself "why"? ...if they just want everyone to forget it now and move on... lol.

Ngl, I teared up watching this clip.

It just is really precious how much the entire team, plus the investors put in to make this drama REALISTIC and a beautifully told love story. There's not 1 person who shouldn't get a kudos for how this turned out, not just the leads, or even the extended cast. Everyone bts had a perfect hand in it as well. I'm grateful at what a great job they all did.

YY’s studio shared a video of his journey as YT: https://share.api.weibo.cn/share/247944622.html?weibo_id=4676588430169838
I was just going to post the video from Twitter!

After watching that, I couldn't be more impressed with Yang Yang, not just as an actor. I mean WOW.

It's just incredible to realize how invested in this drama and how much he participated in directing every aspect of his character on his own. The dude is beyond professional.

Tbh, with this enlightenment, I don't doubt we'll eventually see him doing directing on his own and move away from being a mere actor and commercial endorser/model. This shows just how capable he is and it's no wonder his studio is so proud to show us all these parts.

Weren't we privileged with how invested both Reba & YangYang's own studios were in promoting this drama even over what Tencent was doing? They both certainly put in and invested all their energy into YAMG for the whole month of August!!

Interesting analysis. I find it interesting that before this collaboration, the two didn't seem to like each other.…
Well, in the interview they did together after filming the "Diamond Event & Dressed Up garage" scenes, she said that she thought he was the quiet, non-talkative, aloof type. So, it looks like they both had a similar outlook. But she went on to say that it turns out he's the complete opposite and is like a big child who laughs big at the most obviously funny stuff, etc. So, I suppose they were both pleasantly surprised by each other when they realized their IDOL image of each other was much different than their IRL character. Now you see them 100% comfortable with each other in every way, there's no distance between them whatsoever.

Fans of the cp are already noting that you can see this change between them the last time they were on stage receive an award with a bunch of other stars prior to the drama airing BUT after they started filming YAMG. YY initiated it but they were talking to each other on stage and in their own world at the time. A stark contrast to before when they never collaborated. Most B/G stars don't interact like that on stage even if they collaborated because that's the quickest way to start fanwars. Even based on now, their cp interactions really do touch crossing the line of that possibility. It's the reason I'm not really comfortable putting links to this stuff anymore. It's easy to see they like each other... w/e that means. 😉😁

Thank youu.. Thank you so much for describing this.. I watched the fancam videos, but because they were so blurry,…
Yeah, is it irony that she's in this drama? LOL.

I mean, I'm not sure really how much they're trying to hide it when they seem to be holding hands behind each other's backs on stage...They have to know that the staff were gonna film them because their cpf is so popular. But, they're still up there glued together like that.

So, based on some of Reba's comments, I don't think they're gonna come out anytime soon so, yeah, if she turns up pregnant eventually at some point, no matter who is the father, we'll likely know then. hahaha.... But again, it's not like they're really TRYING to hide it. They are comfortable with where they are at, who they are, and what they're doing. I'll just leave it at that...

And like you said, w/e happens, I'll just pray for the best for them....
