Different strokes for different folks. Age and maturity also have to do with whether or not you like this or not. You get to Ep. 20 and miss out on all the things that make the relationship and its process complete and rate it like that, so there's also that.
I mean, I get it. You thought 'The Romance of Tiger and Rose' was awesome, and I thought it was cliche, tropey overhyped C-drama. Again, different strokes for different folks. I prefer things without the tropes because I've been married and have 2 sons, AND I also was a Program Manager for an Aerospace manufacturing company, so I appreciate the realism displayed in this drama, and the no fish eye kissing, and natural skinship.

Her review in a nutshell is: ✿❀I expect my actors & actresses in a drama to have an Oscar level performance for them to hit my expectations, and these 2 just barely past the threshold of that expectation but still aren't there yet. ✿❀They are hyper conscience of each other when they are together acting, so not always naturally comfortable, but not so much like this with other actors. ✿❀All the details about their work life and stuff going on with them etc is very realistic and no one has even questioned this part anywhere in China. ✿❀The drama is way too slow and the editing was chopped *only* to extend it out so Tencent can get more money from Fast Track & VVIP users. My reply is for people who have NOT seen YAMG yet, who are perusing the comments in order to gauge whether it's a drama they'll like or not, then see your post saying it's a carbon copy of another drama, that they might not have liked, then don't even START watching it because of this statement.
Reason why? Because your statement is false. I wanted to correct the record on that, and let everyone know the exact DIFFERENCE between the drama you said YAMG is similar to, and with FACTUAL DATA, explain why I think that's a FALSE statement.

1) Lu Jing is a gaming streamer popular to the public and well known in data research circles. 2) Liang Chen is a singer who wants to completely reinvent herself and her style of singing. 3) Liang Chen is 5 years older than Lu Jing but they have a relationship despite the age difference and her being older than him.
1) Yu Tu is a 30 year old Aerospace Research engineer having a sort of mid-life crisis considering leaving his dream job for a higher salary to take care of his parents in their older age. 2) Yu Tu's job is top secret so he's supposed to be lowkey and under the radar. 3) Qiao Jing Jing is an actress who is very popular and successful. She's not looking to make any changes with her career. She's doing endorsements, commercials, dramas, and movies like she always has been. 4) Yu Tu and Qiao Jing Jing are classmates where Yu Tu is a few months older than QJJ. There's no age difference or issues with them being together with friends or family.
The ONLY thing similar is that both Ju Jing & Yu Tu are good at playing games and due to certain circumstances they have to teach their respective FL how to play better based on the different novels each drama is also respectively adapted to that source material.

Exactly. It's not a REAL early kiss meant by each other because they're in love. The kiss usually has one or the other with their eyes wide OPEN in shock...and it's all done in slo-mo. So, the scriptwriters can continue to show them as not in a relationship without having the viewers hate either the ML or FL for being slutty. Then, we have to wait for another 15 episodes for them to finally have a 2nd REAL kiss that was intentional.... only to have them breakup the next episode and not get together until 1-2 episodes before the end. Then we're lucky if we get another slo-mo kiss to end it all. Likely no hand holding and very few hugs as well, plus, the FL will act like a prude who doesn't like her b/f touching any part of her body, let alone romantic skinship.
With the Glory Couple, all those kisses felt real and out of the 30 kisses they had only a few can even be called slo-mo... and they're closing their eyes!!!

For those who think there is too much gaming in this drama, I have calculated exactly how much time is spent up, to EP. 26, in gameplay or even merely TALKING about gameplay, along with the timestamps during each episode so you can evaluate for yourselves.
I will update later for Ep. 27-32 but I'm under the impression that not only is there no gameplay in any of these episodes, they don't talk about the game either:

EXCEPT FOR THE KISS SCENES... I'm not sure about the translation but it felt like he was saying that everyone just separately watched those scenes on their own and didn't say much or comment about it in the groupchat... UNTIL ...he's MOM came out and said, "... 'I can't stand it anymore' haha."
I don't know about shipper terms in China but people were saying that stuff that was trending like "knock knock cp" "grapefruit" and tell them "YangDi" needs to be real. lol... and WTH is 'HS' & "ST" lol.
There are a lot of people that just really love the way this CP blossomed and are having a really, REALLY hard time letting them go... I, for one, will find it hard to see them in other lovelines in the future. I'm going to say this on top of that -- I never felt this way with any of their other CP partnerships to this point, even if I really enjoyed a particular drama that they were in.

This was one of the scenes to me that I just felt was well crafted. The novel didn't go '...talk, talk, talk..." people felt things internally and went on with their lives. Not everyone feels the need to talk incessantly about their feelings.
Yu Tu certainly isn't the type, and the stuff regarding her past or anything that has nothing to do with the entertainment world, QJJ kept to herself. The closest people to her knew nothing about school, and her hopes and dreams which, frankly, weren't to become a celebrity. Being a celebrity was just something that was offered to her after she let go of Yu Tu the 1st time, that she ended up being good at in the end. But her actress BFF, her manager, and her assistant knew nothing about Yu Tu etc even when she brought him to her home. She kept a lot of things she thought and felt to herself. Heck, she didn't even discuss any of it with Pei Pei.
That's why these little tidbits scenes are so powerful and important, because it gives you the vibe, sense, and feeling going on without 2 main characters having to have verbal diarrhea to explain it when they're not the type to be expressing shit to others. There's a reason why these to are so okay with being private with everything to do with their lives, and not be constantly exposed to the public.
I'd be shocked if it really was Yang Yang who did this... It's so thoughtful... but if he did, it just goes to show how much he, not only understands his character, Yu Tu, but the intent of the author and screenwriter in telling the story. ;)

But, even years after their marriage, she's not having kids because they don't even have that kind of time for themselves. That's later on in the discussion. 3) JJ is fine living at Yu Tu's house. That's why she spent so much time redecorating it to her liking, showing it to her mom-in-law, & Yu Tu is fine with it. 4) JJ tells her manager and assistant that she enjoys being at his home. Not interested in going back, so there is no issue with her needing all this expensive stuff and space. 5) We're forgetting here that QJJ is no Xia Qing. She's not interested in lots of money per se, but since she has it, if she wants to buy pretty things, then she does... which is why she shops for her man to dress him well, instead of paying off his mortgage.
