I understand what you mean.. As a YangReba shipper, I'm happy reading your analysis.. I read some posts in ig…
Yeah, I totally was hearing this part..BUT.. I just brushed it aside, w/e, they we're doing the kiss scene, they have height difference, and the location is cramped and not easy to maneuver. I didn't give that much thought... Yet, in the last couple days, the NEW analysis of the **start** of the kiss is what caught me up... He just looked like a man on a mission. No hesitation. No shyness. Not even waiting for her to prep for it. Just dove in and started going at it. lol. ~~After seeing that loop, that forces you to pay attention to YY's eyes and demeanor...and how shocked Reba was at the start, it just gives a different vibe. It looks like YY is totally into and WANTS to kiss no matter what. It freaking felt real... I mean, not acted real...but real, real.. Like an opportunity to BE REAL in that moment kinda real.. LMFAO!
I have to disagree with her about the MLs not being natural in scenes together. I always felt like they were natural…
NO! I totally agree with you and disagree with her. I think you're right. The fact that she squeals about all their skinship and goes on and on about how natural they are and how detailed every hand movement and physical interaction is that makes the romance look REAL, and that this is why it doesn't come across as ARTIFICAL SWEETNER, as she puts it, and that it also doesn't make her cringe...that it's not annoying or overdone means the EXACT OPPOSITE of what she's saying.
That's what's so funny and ridiculous about her initial points on how their acting doesn't measure up and when they're together they 'are over conscious' of each other and not as NATURAL as they are when with other cast in the drama. It's like talking out of both sides of your mouth. Either they're able to convince you about their romantic love, which she says they did, and can act those parts, or you cannot, and there's no chemistry and this whole thing falls apart because, in essence, that's what this ENTIRE drama is about... It's not about the other CAST members. It's solely about THEM. There's no secondary couple, triangles, diversions, etc. The story is literally a story about them and they are the FULL FOCUS of this entire drama. If they weren't comfortable acting together, this drama, by god, wouldn't be rated an 8.8!! It'd be under a 7.0 because, again, they're the only thing this drama is focused on. hahaha LOL!
I understand your hyper, however everything was scripted by Gu Man, don't be too carried away no matter how sweet…
Uhm.. no EVERYTHING is not scripted. Or Yang Yang's scene he directed at the bus stop where QJJ's poster light goes out wouldn't have been included and would have been part of Gu Man's script and novel.
There are multiple scenes, you know from watching the bts, that BOTH actors had a SAY in what and how it played out. Whether it was included or not was completely up to the DIRECTOR not even Gu Man.
1 example of this kind of discussion is with Dilraba during the scene at the school after KTV referred to as the "BDS Scene". Reba's supposed to show some kind of aegyo reaction to Yu Tu after he tells her "Baidu-Search it yourself"
That part was Marked Up by a discussion between the actors and the director. In particular, Reba wanted to squat down to the ground afterwards because she said it'd look cute. YangYang didn't have any particular ideas other than it felt awkward that she was suddenly not in eye contact height. Director agreed. Ultimately, after much discussion, the Director said just drop his hand and stop. In the actual edited version, her dropping his hand isn't even really highlighted.
Here is a compilation of various scenes where Yang Yang is literally DIRECTING the DIRECTOR on what he wants to do and HOW he wants him to FILM the scene. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYHd4nJl--g]
I've said it from the very beginning, so don't anyone be fools about this either--
BOTH ACTORS had a LOT of say in how the scenes were eventually acted out and the scriptwriter was on location as well to discuss things. But there were MANY times that what was written was not ALWAYS the way it went to film. You can see, during the BTS of the steamy "Map" kiss when they're blocking how Yang Yang will carry Reba to the bedroom that YangYang even said that there was TOO MUCH TALKING during that scene, he just wanted to kiss and go to the room -- then Gu Man came in from the other side of the door with an attitude -- YOU'RE NOT CUTTING MY DIALOGUE --
It was a collaborative effort from them all and YES, the actors had a say in various segment. How else to you explain the Director editing in a PRANK where Yang Yang scares Reba when they're not really in character ready to film? That was a blocking segment as well... but it turned out so good that he kept it.
So no, I'm not being too carried away or hyper. I was explaining how this made me second guess something I saw that seemed like no biggie to me at first.
Man, that telescope kiss on the balcony of Yu Tu's home has been seriously psychoanalyzed down to the microsecond. When hit with the bts clips there's inevitably a clip posted about it, that you can't get away from it. lol.
I kind of skimmed over it, as it wasn't really that important to me, UNTIL the focus went from the end of the kiss to the start of the kiss. That little analysis had me tilt my head and actually, when it's isolated and put on a repeat loop, it hit me kinda weird. I started getting the point they're making.
Let me clarify what I mean: The main focus of the analysis has been 2-fold, that it's merely 1 of a handful of small compilation clips, with no audio, of their sweet times as a couple together. Eagle eye viewers note the confirmation of at least 1 of the clips being not YY & Reba as QJJ & Yu Tu but they as themselves that was added.
So, the question about this particular kiss goes in this direction as well because, realistically, it was a drone captured interaction and for that particular moment that kiss wasn't really necessary. Also, your average actors, especially those with high fan base that can start fanwars over the smallest questionable skinship interaction with their idol, will usually FAKE these kinds of scenes and most certainly would avoid too much contact with the lower half of their bodies.
If you've looked at any of the bts for this show you've likely seen these debates about how Reba goes on her tiptoes for the kiss and as the drone pulls away, instead of moving away to finish the kiss, Yang Yang is grabbing her by the waist to pull her further into it. It's a real kiss, with no attempt to fake it. For me, this isn't that big of a deal, he's tall than her, and his hands just supporting her as she's reaching up to do a proper kiss. No biggie.
┬┴┬┴┤(・_├┬┴┬┴ BUT, then comes the analysis of the start of the kiss, that made my head tilt.
When you see it repeated in a loop, you start to really question YangYang's mindset on this one, and then the fact that Reba doesn't reject it either but gets into as described above. ⊙.☉
Reba was simply jumping up and down in excitement, then all-of-a-sudden, Yang Yang purposefully walks up to her and doesn't even WAIT for her to turn her face or use his hands, nothing. He's not even looking for eye contact, none whatsoever. He is clearly just looking for her lips. He just grabs her by the waist and plants the kiss on her while she's turning towards him like a man with a mission. At first, she seems surprised, just like how she was when he scared her on the couch. More interesting is the fact that her reaction is almost exactly like when she was on the coach, shocked but then girlie and happy. Instead of backing away, she kisses him back fully 100% then wraps her arms all the way around his neck.... as the drone pans away. The more I watch that, the more I hesitate... is that QJJ & Yu Tu or Reba & YangYang kissing....
These analysis posts keep doing this shit to me. lol.
I'll just make my finally point on why I find this particular compelling enough to even write about here: Reba has multiple lovelines with different actors with shippers who still, even after YAMG believe she's dating their ship partner. Cool. No problems with that... but, if any of those other ships are truly real, if I was her man, I'd have to question her about this one. There was legit no real compelling reason to add that kiss and have it be that intimate at that time. There has been 30 counted kisses in this drama, missing this one and just watching Yu Tu set up his telescope like he did in the desert, to show his g/f the stars is enough of a cute scene. Yes, we love the kisses, but that particular one isn't central to the plot. =/ If she's really dating someone, and comes across these 'investigative' posts, I don't know if he'd be all to happy seeing them. lol.
Oh so I have a question regarding Yu Tu and his financial situation. Even though he decided to continue pursuing…
There are multiple discussions on this matter between not just Yu Tu and QJJ but Yu Tu and his mother, Director, co-workers, & Professor, but also between QJJ and her Manager & Assistant. Go back and rewatch for your answers.
For clarities sake, you do realize that Yu Tu got promotions, and with that got more money, right?
I realize that the drama is slow, but don't let that fact cause you to turn off your brains and mindlessly watch or FFWD through other parts that give you the COMPLETE picture of what's going on, simply because when they're not together doing sugary things you find it boring. I see a handful of people talking in this manner and this is why the struggles both leads have doesn't warm the heart and translate like it does for those patient enough to wholeheartedly watch the drama until the end.
Why is the rating 8.8?!?! I got so bored ...with the bland storyline... Also I am sick of satellite now.
Different strokes for different folks. Age and maturity also have to do with whether or not you like this or not. You get to Ep. 20 and miss out on all the things that make the relationship and its process complete and rate it like that, so there's also that.
I mean, I get it. You thought 'The Romance of Tiger and Rose' was awesome, and I thought it was cliche, tropey overhyped C-drama. Again, different strokes for different folks. I prefer things without the tropes because I've been married and have 2 sons, AND I also was a Program Manager for an Aerospace manufacturing company, so I appreciate the realism displayed in this drama, and the no fish eye kissing, and natural skinship.
Avenuex has just review this drama... What her say exacty what i have in my mind🤣🤣 🤣 https://youtu.be/giaNmyYQ5KI
Her review in a nutshell is: ✿❀I expect my actors & actresses in a drama to have an Oscar level performance for them to hit my expectations, and these 2 just barely past the threshold of that expectation but still aren't there yet. ✿❀They are hyper conscience of each other when they are together acting, so not always naturally comfortable, but not so much like this with other actors. ✿❀All the details about their work life and stuff going on with them etc is very realistic and no one has even questioned this part anywhere in China. ✿❀The drama is way too slow and the editing was chopped *only* to extend it out so Tencent can get more money from Fast Track & VVIP users. It should have stuck to the originally slatted 27 episodes and 30 minutes per episode was an unreasonable money making scheme. ✿❀This drama doesn't sprinkle "Dog Food" aka PDA, it sprays "Dog Food" at you. lol. The sugar and sweetness is all over the place in huge chunks. Somehow, even with all the issues with their acting and slow pace etc the "Dog Food" still is NOT at all annoying or burdensome. It's also not superficial or artificial but natural. All the little details, the gestures, etc are so perfect and enjoyable that they are shriek worthy in a good way.
✿❀FINALLY: This hit all the right spots perfectly and the "Dog Food" was just so glorious that I don't care that it didn't meet my expectations in every area and that it's not a masterpiece of literary perfection with Oscar performances. I had so much fun and enjoyment watching this, and it made me feel so good that I'LL WILLING GIVE IT A HYPER-INFLATED RATING OF 10/10, knowing I'm over rating it based on my own standards, BECAUSE THAT SUGAR IS JUST SO SWEET.
You obviously didn't watch this one and made the claim simply by a cursory reading of the synopsis. I've watched…
Fair enough. It's doesn't matter, honestly, if you watched it or not, or liked it or not.
My reply is for people who have NOT seen YAMG yet, who are perusing the comments in order to gauge whether it's a drama they'll like or not, then see your post saying it's a carbon copy of another drama, that they might not have liked, then don't even START watching it because of this statement.
Reason why? Because your statement is false. I wanted to correct the record on that, and let everyone know the exact DIFFERENCE between the drama you said YAMG is similar to, and with FACTUAL DATA, explain why I think that's a FALSE statement.
Sorry you didn't like it. Better luck with your next drama selection.
another Love scenary, they are lacking imagination...
You obviously didn't watch this one and made the claim simply by a cursory reading of the synopsis. I've watched both and they are 100% completely different.
1) Lu Jing is a gaming streamer popular to the public and well known in data research circles. 2) Liang Chen is a singer who wants to completely reinvent herself and her style of singing. 3) Liang Chen is 5 years older than Lu Jing but they have a relationship despite the age difference and her being older than him.
1) Yu Tu is a 30 year old Aerospace Research engineer having a sort of mid-life crisis considering leaving his dream job for a higher salary to take care of his parents in their older age. 2) Yu Tu's job is top secret so he's supposed to be lowkey and under the radar. 3) Qiao Jing Jing is an actress who is very popular and successful. She's not looking to make any changes with her career. She's doing endorsements, commercials, dramas, and movies like she always has been. 4) Yu Tu and Qiao Jing Jing are classmates where Yu Tu is a few months older than QJJ. There's no age difference or issues with them being together with friends or family.
The ONLY thing similar is that both Ju Jing & Yu Tu are good at playing games and due to certain circumstances they have to teach their respective FL how to play better based on the different novels each drama is also respectively adapted to that source material.
Did Tencent really cancel the CP hype promos for YangYang and Rosy for 'Who Rules The World' this last week? I'm just now hearing about this. Is it that Glory Couple are still so hype and they didn't expect it to be this strong that they want to put a distant gap for viewers to move on? Likely, huh?
I think maybe either it's just they dislike the drama (maybe hardcore fan of other drama that was shadowed by…
Exactly. It's not a REAL early kiss meant by each other because they're in love. The kiss usually has one or the other with their eyes wide OPEN in shock...and it's all done in slo-mo. So, the scriptwriters can continue to show them as not in a relationship without having the viewers hate either the ML or FL for being slutty. Then, we have to wait for another 15 episodes for them to finally have a 2nd REAL kiss that was intentional.... only to have them breakup the next episode and not get together until 1-2 episodes before the end. Then we're lucky if we get another slo-mo kiss to end it all. Likely no hand holding and very few hugs as well, plus, the FL will act like a prude who doesn't like her b/f touching any part of her body, let alone romantic skinship.
With the Glory Couple, all those kisses felt real and out of the 30 kisses they had only a few can even be called slo-mo... and they're closing their eyes!!!
Link to this microblog where we talks about the group chat?
Q: Let's go see it happily, right?
🐑 : Yes, after that one day my mother sent me a message. So we both talked. Mom sent me a few memes and typed a few words "I can't stand it anymore" haha.
Q: What is the name of your home chat group? Can you tell?
Yang Yang said it took him 30 minutes to mentally prepare himself to say the line "Will you allow my genes to influence your genes?" and says even now saying it gives him goosebumps. lol.
