Was tempted to drop it at ep 1 bc it was too dramatic for me. However, I am so glad I didn't. The main couple…
Yep. Everything right up until he brings Kim Mi Young her shoes in Episode 2 was just weird and I didn't like it much. But that was the major turning point in the show, and everything after that (and I mean EVERYTHING) was so incredibly superb. Still my all time favorite kdrama.
While the plot turned out dry overall, the cast here is incredible and there really is a lot to like about Doctors.
It got an 8/10 overall from me, but a 5.5 on Rewatch Value. My full review is up for anyone interested.
wtf I barely recognized him in entertainer. his acting is superb
Based on Heartstrings (which I only just started), he is the worst actor I have ever seen ever in the world in any language. He is TERRIBLE in Heartstrings.
So he must have done some serious work on his craft in the last 5 years.
Only a little, but what's there is good. Watching one of the only overtly romantic scenes in the show, my wife said this: "Man, this is just SO heartbreaking..."
If you want to know why she said that, you have to watch the show. ;)
I won't write an official review for this, because I didn't finish it, but if I did, the review title would be: "A Boring Show About Idiots"
While this drama has plenty of value to offer, there's no getting around the fact that it is largely a dull, meandering, and aimless nostalgia trip that gives the audience very little beyond the wildly immature children and laughably incompetent parents.
If I knew these characters in real life, I would go out of my way to avoid spending time with them. And I certainly wouldn't invite them into my living room. Dropped, and dropped hard. First drama I've ever dropped after watching almost half of it. The reason I kept sticking with it is because there was promise there. And some quite good acting. A handful of scenes here and there were truly touching. But it just wasn't enough to keep putting up with all the nonsense and lack of story progression.
I'm well aware this puts me WAY out of line with the popular view of this drama, but I can't help but feel like the high ratings here are largely biased, agenda-ridden, and rose-tinted. Not that my opinion is any more objective, though.
Honestly I actually quite enjoyed the show up to episode 11. Except now I feel like.. It just feels a bit paedophilic?…
You seriously think it's impossible for a 27 year old man to fall in love with an 18 year old girl? I agree the teacher/student boundary is sacred and should never be crossed, though. However, I can forgive them, since they only violated it emotionally and never did anything inappropriate.
Geez, I've never seen such a sudden and inexplicable mass exodus from a show. Most of this first page is people saying they're dropping it, and I'm over here just like "But... it's a good show!"

But I'll add it to my list.

But I guess Seo Woo is childish enough for the whole cast. :P
What am I missing?
