Great article! I've seen only 1987 and A Taxi Driver and loved them both. May 18 looks good, where did you watch…
I watched it while I was in Korea. I don't know where it would be available online, but I will see if I can find it.

I just started scratching the surface on this topic, after watching a couple of dramas with the democracy movement…
Today they are running a ton of specials on ArirangTV, They are worth watching in my opinion and you can watch it for free online (live or on demand)

All great movies, but I think May 18th stands out the most to me. If you haven’t you should give Sandglass (1995)…
I have never seen Sandglass, I have however planned on doing so for quite a while now. As far as I remember I did not find it anywhere, and I must have forgotten since. I will look for it again, now that you remembered me! Thanks :D

You should watch a film called " *The Man Standing Next* ", the film looks at political events from a completely…
Yes, I really want to watch it! I have not yet had the chance, since it is fairly new. Do you by chance know if it is being offered on any streaming plattforms?

I love 1987 and taxi driver and am very much interested in Korean democracy movement. 1987 is my personal favourite…
Yeah! 1987 is great, and I really like the intense and suspenseful storytelling. I do think that having prior knowledge of the Democratization movement really helps with this movie though, as it does reference the 1980 incidents quite often.

I watched A Taxi Driver a few months back and then looked up the Gwangju Uprising . The movie did a good job of…
If you are interested in the journalists that covered the Uprising at the time, then I would recommend you the third book in the picture that I included (The Kwangju Uprising: A Miracle of Asian Democracy as Seen by the Western and the Korean Press). It mostly consists of journalist's accounts of their memories and experiences during the time.

Great article, thank you :) I love A Taxi Driver and 1987 and I love learning about history! I still have to watch…
I agree, I also really like A Taxi Driver! I think it did a great job of making the events "accessible" and understandable, even though I did not know much about them when I first watched it, I sadly never had the chance to watch it in a theater like you did.

Title Mom Has an Affair Spoiler
So far she is not questionable at all, she is being painted as a "too good for this world" type person. Also,…
Don't worry about the husband from the first episodes, he is already not a part of the story anymore, for 3ish episodes now, I just don't want to spoil why.

Title Mom Has an Affair Spoiler
I dont get it. If she is divorced how is she having an affair? Unless she marries the "rich man" mentioned in…
So far she is not questionable at all, she is being painted as a "too good for this world" type person. Also, at this point, no divorce has happened, at it might be a false translation in the synopsis, because currently it seems as if there will not be a divorce any time soon..

i've watched the first episode and here's what i think will happen. although she has a crush on Chiaki since high…
I liked it for the atmosphere, feel and scenery. The story is one of the week point, which I did not like as much. But I really liked the location and the feeling that comes with it.
