Ah, so I just finished it & saw there’s no trailer for the next episode, I didn’t even think about that when I wrote my original response. So yeah, if there is another episode like GagaOoLala says, it might just be a special episode or something of the sort.
so episode 9 is really the last one? because it doesn't feel like the end.
GagaOoLala shows there’s a 10th episode airing on the 26th so episode 9 probably isn’t the last one unless that’s just some special episode or something.
It breaks my heart how easily Sun will give in the second someone threatens Kajorn! As much as Sun seems like a cold person (which he’s done to protect himself from all the loss & pain over the years) he cares for others so deeply. Also, I absolutely love how his emotions show when Sky resembles his brother. I really hope the show utilizes the similarities & gives them a deep brother bond. It would also be the icing on the cake if Sun becomes very protective of Sky similarly to how he is with Kajorn, but in a big brother way.
I’m usually all about romance in BLs, but man, I’m so here for the growing protective bond & deep look into how Sun truly feels about those who are important around him!
So far, Mean is a nearly nonexistent character. I didn’t even notice he was an actor in it at first, I saw Gunsmile…
Oh I know. I’ve been watching BLs for over a decade, I know all about Mean, Krist, Foei, Godt, & other’s comments & actions. Which is why I said I understand not wanting to watch. I mean, when I saw Mean & finally recognized him (since I never cared for him much anyways before his garbage comments & started to forget what he looked like) I got annoyed that he was even in this. (Guess he’s old, washed up, & in need of money lol) But since he was in it for a very short time, I decided to just suck it up & finish the episode. (Definitely not saying others have to do the same though! I thought it was a pretty funny show so I finished the episode) However, if Mean does become a bigger role or have a lot more screen time than what it seems, I too may drop.
I wanted to give it a try, I read that it's by the same directors as "Dinosaur Love" and then I read that…
So far, Mean is a nearly nonexistent character. I didn’t even notice he was an actor in it at first, I saw Gunsmile made an appearance & was sold lol But when Mean did pop up, it wasn’t for that long & I barely even noticed him then. But I completely understand that being one reason to not want to watch. I never watched Dinosaur Love, never heard of it until these comments so I can’t really have much of an opinion in that aspect.
Not gonna lie, my main reason of wanting to watch this now is Gunsmile 🙈 I doubt he’s a huge role, but he…
So I started it, I’m 30 minutes in & laughing my a-s off! Also, Gunsmile appearance within the first 10 or so minutes, just what I needed!! But this show so far is doing surprisingly really well in the comedy category. I thought people were exaggerating but it’s definitely very funny! The rapper Cutter & his mom had me in stitches! Can’t wait for the rest of the series!
Not gonna lie, my main reason of wanting to watch this now is Gunsmile 🙈 I doubt he’s a huge role, but he will always be my favorite & I will cherish any small crumbs I can get! Lol
However, the reviews so far sound great so I’m going to start it probably within the next few minutes!
See, I understood some of why Ritt was upset. I feel like it was more than just being played, it was the fact that he had so much guilt while assuming he was tricking the man he loved & was so worried he was hurting him all to find out that man knew the whole time. I understand feeling like a joke in that moment. Especially when finding out your best friend knew & said nothing, that was really where I was like “Ah, okay, that’s kinda really messed up.” However, Ritt is really dragging it now & overplaying the victim card. Also, what was even the point of that Pure/Phitcha/Ritt talk?? It seemed like he was really starting to see the other point of view just to let it go in one ear & out the other immediately after. The fake kidnapping scene seemed pointless in the end too, because again, Ritt went back into his whole “woah is me, I don’t think this love is real” thought process even after seeing Itt’s true feelings.
I say this all the time for shows, I understand every story needs conflict & I understand that it’s a 10 episode show that needs to extend that conflict until the last episode so it makes for a satisfying ending. But the way it’s being executed is just the complete opposite. If you don’t plan to have Ritt accept Itt’s apology (even with him being partly to blame) then showing possible make up scenes feels fake & cheap.
Well, at least I got my boys, Pure & Phitcha, the real stars of my heart! Lol (However, I do also think making Pure be in on the whole second deception arch was a weird choice)
I adore Pure & Phitcha so much but it feels like Pure isn’t fully listening to what Phitcha keeps saying. Like Pure understands him so well but keeps ignoring Phitcha’s grievances by continuously saying things like (not verbatim) “It’s great for you to be going back to Korea” & “You worked so hard, your dream will come true soon” after Phitcha literally told him to his face that it’s his mom’s dream & his own dream has changed. It’s just a little annoying to me because he started out knowing Phitcha’s feelings just by looking into his eyes but now he can’t even when listening to his words? I don’t know, not a huge deal, I still love them both the most in this series but it’s just once thing that’s kinda felt off, like out of character almost.
it's a K-BL, so it's highly possible, AI is everywhere here 😩 I am yet to start this, but reading there's maybe…
Yeah, I’ve only noticed it the one time but it looked really weird & not like a normal CGI edit to me. It looked like those really bad AI clips where it just gets movements really wrong. I’m sure that was the effect they were going for but it was just so odd & out of place. They could have used so many different ways to indicate a body swap, like how many shows & films have done before this.
I adore Progress in this series so much! I’m only halfway through episode 1 but he’s so great at playing a…
Oh my God, I’m dumb! I just realized Progress plays in the Love Sick remake & that’s probably why I was getting heavy LS vibes! I only realized towards the end of episode 1 when I was like “Almond is giving me LS vibes too…. Wait, is he in the remake? IS PROGRESS IN THE REMAKE??” Lol, for some reason I thought this was their first series, I didn’t think to check before commenting 🤦 I should’ve know though, Progress is playing Ko exactly the way he played No. Definitely not a bad thing, he’s really great at this type of character. He’s very believable at being a silly goofball & adds so much charm to the character!
I adore Progress in this series so much! I’m only halfway through episode 1 but he’s so great at playing a lovable goofball! He also reminds me so much of Captain from his Love Sick days.
There’s only 3 episodes out & they're about 10 minutes each. This also isn’t really the kind of series to have heavy kiss scenes, at least not this early since it’s enemies to lovers lol
I’m going to watch the second season tomorrow but I will say this season started off really good! I can’t believe it took me so long to watch! I absolutely love the concept. However, the last two episodes were rushed & executed in such an odd way that felt so incomplete. I see from the synopsis of the second season, more will be explored, but it felt like they heavily glossed over what happened with Yeon Woo (not being too specific in case someone doesn’t want spoilers)
I understand it’s a short series, but this type of concept deserves a longer & much more detailed series. They could have done so much more, explained side characters & their backstories better, really implemented Min Jae during the parts Yeon Woo was changing, & just made the gravity of what happened with Yeon Woo towards the end bigger than making it seem like it was no big deal.
I enjoyed this series, but man, I could have really loved it, it could have easily been an S tier show if they did just a little bit more.
I don't think so, in the novel he is like a nice guy and way softer (though I prefer toxic Jack), and from the…
I’m responding to the “skipping Jack” comment; I personally skipped a lot of the JackDean storyline as a whole. Nothing against Earth or Mix at all, I love them as actors! However, their storyline just couldn’t capture my interest no matter what they did. I understand drama & conflict, a show can’t exist without any conflict. But it just felt so nonstop with the same issues the entire time. I personally hated the “Dean & Arnold are bad because they ALMOST kissed even though they both stopped it” plot point. I feel like they should have just had an actual kiss scene if the writers wanted to justify that opinion of them. The whole time, I just couldn’t care less on what happened to JackDean’s relationship. To be fair though, I don’t usually like watching dramas about already established couples or exes. I prefer watching the buildup of a relationship & the characters falling in love. If they had a story like that, I mostly would have watched their story all the way through. That’s a personal preference though.
(Sorry for the long comment, I just wanted to respond about my reason for skipping. I completely understand feeling bad for Earth over it & I didn’t even think about it until now. You’re right, it is kind of sad that though the writers seemed to have higher opinions on Jack & wanted him to be the one in the right, many fans hate him & skip his scenes. But unfortunately, the character they wrote for Earth just wasn’t as strong as it should have been for many of us. But for me, the whole relationship was rather weak & uninteresting to me. I wish they had wrote them & their relationship a little stronger & more capturing)
I'm really bummed that they didn't show Chusan's interaction with goons and how he managed to win them over.
Yeah, I found it odd to even include as an extra scene. Like I think they were hinting that he won them over with financial advice but it was just a bit weird how they played that scene out. I feel like if they wanted to include an extra scene, they should have just chosen something else.
Before anyone responds with “There’s a second season coming!” I understand that, but that doesn’t change the fact that this last episode felt a bit odd, out of place, & rushed. I absolutely loved this series & was so excited to see the last episode. But I feel like it fell a bit short & they could have paced it better throughout the series so there wasn’t so much going on at once. It felt like there should have been extra scenes to explain stuff but was cut on time. Even the actual “extra scene” at the end was odd & didn’t feel like anything “extra”. Don’t get me wrong, I still adore this show & am excited for season two if it is really official. But I do still have to admit I was left a little disappointed with this final episode. However, with how well loved this series was, I’m hopeful for the next season!
