It's not as bad as Kingdom. They literally gave us 6 episodes and now we have to wait a WHOLE year for the next…
Joongki already found a project? Dang, he sure is fast but I'm looking forward to it. It will be hard to gather everyone around so you are not wrong about that. Season 2 might be difficult process since Koreans aren't used to this system like Westerns.
Many drama are international hits. If it is on Netflix....I think the international view somewhat counts....
Not every drama is on Netflix tho. Some are international hits while others are not. I-fans loved Her Private Life but rating wise... it didn't do well in Korea. It's highest rating is 3%.
It sucks how almost all dramas have to depend on S.K ratings for a positive outcome that it may not get while the international fanbase have zero influence in it. It's annoying. I wish there was a platform (other than Netflix) that international fans can have their own ratings. That way even if a drama did bad in Korea, the international viewership can save it. Like back in 2016 where Koreans loved "Love in the Moonlight" while the international fans loved "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" that were aired around the same time. One had high rating while the other didn't.
Damn it, I waited and waited until the end to marathon this series only to get game of thrones'd with this yearly…
It's not as bad as Kingdom. They literally gave us 6 episodes and now we have to wait a WHOLE year for the next part. At least Arthdal Chronicles had 18 episodes.
There are million of dramas with different genre for everyone with specific taste. Saying you will never became a fan if more drama were like this is a stretch.
Tanya most of the show is mute. She barely speaks unless something happens to Wahan Clan. She needs to communicate.…
I want the brothers to bond with each other but I have a feeling that Tanya will make Saya do crazy things to win her over U.U they are supposed to be the 3 things who will bring calamity to the world so I'm having hopes that it won't be as messy as I think it will be.
Lol I actually like Eunseom so far. It's seems like he would get allies now and he will get stronger. I would say the balance of the show is throw off a bit. Like in part 2, So many Saya, less Eunseom. Part 3, so many Eunseom, less Saya. That's why it took 16 episodes. Although they did make him too naive.
Tanya most of the show is mute. She barely speaks unless something happens to Wahan Clan. She needs to communicate.…
You are right but she is aware that she is hiding things purposely which we all know will causes issues later on. I'm not sure what she is trying to achieve since the fact they are twins will be exposed the moment Eunseom appears. She wants Saya to tell her his decisions but she is hiding half of hers... this alliance is doomed to fail. It's only surviving because he fell for her.
While Saya isn't trustworthy because they are not aiming for the same goal, one thing is clear is that Saya is very honest. He is not hiding his intentions. We know what he wants including Tanya so it's not like she was in the dark about all this.
I was about to get mad thinking this was the last episode because Eunseom had literally done nothing much through…
Tanya most of the show is mute. She barely speaks unless something happens to Wahan Clan. She needs to communicate. I thought she saw Saya as an ally but it seems like she is manipulating him again which would make him distrust her again
Personally, even though this drama could be boring and tedious, I would like to support it. High risk deserves high return. Showing support to shows like this encourages other dramas to take risks and increase their QUALITY. I'm tired of k-drama having similar plots. We need some new, fresh ideas.
Some people need to realize that you won't enjoy if you are still watching in a steady pace. It's called a burn out. You need a break. Not just any break but a long one. I had my anime burn out and I haven't seen anime for over 2 years now. It doesn't mean I don't enjoy anime, I just still don't feel like watching it. When I do, I'll be binge watching 50+. At times like this, I go to my other hobbies like reading, writing, watching dramas, etc.
His contract was for 48 episodes. It was due to poor planning and greed for ratings that led the drama creators…
Alright, lemme bring my emphasized words back since you are missing the point. “Emperor could EASILY be redeemed but it shows the writer DIDN'T initial wanted to redeem him.”
You see the word “initial wanted? They were placed there for a reason.
If the author initial wanted to redeem him (Which, once again I’ll stress she didn’t. The ending is ruined because the main character is missing) she would have started it early on in the series. Let’s take it from when he fell in love with Sunny as an example. A writer will foreshadow the fact he “changed” after he realized her struggles, what he put her through and by Sunny fighting against him, that opened his eyes to how severe his crimes were to her and his other victims. Which could lead to 1. Secretly helping Sunny into taking down the imperial family but putting on his evil surface. Or 2. Openly help out. Which could also lead into helping out the people he and his mother hurt as one of the steps.
In the end, he could 1. Go to jail for his crimes willingly because he believes he deserves it. 2. Die at the hands of Wang Shik to give him his revenge.3. Take his own life either by suicide or saving others (which what the writer tried to do but failed).
That’s it. There will have to be a few changes in the character personality but nothing too out of character. Redemption doesn’t equate forgiveness, free or happy ending.

Although you said I’m confrontational, I’m was and still am calm. The caps are there to empathize my points so you won’t miss them. Although I will apologize if it seemed that’s way. I completely agree with one of your statements.People are confrontational because they can hide their faces. It is what it is.
I classified you with few words because you also classified people with few words.
I was among those against the extension. I can’t stand any drama getting extended purely because it ruins the flow of the drama. And yeah, this was also ruined which is why I said if they were going to make an ending like that they might as well extended further it to smooth that terrible ending. And yes, NWS been sidelined for a while. Although he also faces inconsistencies more so than the Emperor. He was originally a avenger but by the end of the drama they wanted him to be hero. Although with the actor absence, he never got the chance be one.

It shows that you don't write. You do realize that script CHANGE depending on the situation? Wang Shik was thrown under the bus because he couldn't appear. Obviously he had legitimate reasons. He was under no obligation to fulfill what's beyond his contract but since they extend it (it's their right whether you like it or not), they had to make the script work without a main character face/existence. You can complain about how bad the ending is cuz frankly, I didn't like it either. If they were going to make an ending like this, they might as well extend it again with 2 more episodes to smoothen it out. While am at it, people like you who keeps on making wide generalization towards people who wanted redemption need to stop. A character like the Emperor could EASILY be redeemed but it shows the writer DIDN'T initial wanted to redeem him. I won't be surprised if the writer did THAT because of Na Wang Shik missing appearance. Like I said, script change depending on the situation.
I just wanted Sunny to sit down and actually cry for Wang Shik. Or at least clear his name of the blame the Empress…
For real! I may have not been a fan of Wang Shik but at least have Sunny cry next to his grave or something. It doesn't make sense to just let him die like this without any grieve. We already had the short end of the stick since the actor was unavaliable but they could have done better than this.
Dropping it! And really sad to do so. This is the only YSH drama I couldn't complete. I was really looking forward…
Ironically, I also was more annoyed with Bok Soo character than anyone. It feels like he ended up being the hero just because. Wish they made him more interesting.
Shin Sung Rok is such a good actor. He makes facial expressions that are hard to make. I find myself sayings he looks dumb/like a coward but how does a coward even "look" like? There isn't any specific "look" but he somehows make it.
I never really liked Na Wang Shik so the actor not being the last 2 episodes doesn't really change anything for me. The only thing that would be diappointing is how the conclusion will be incomplete but I know the rest of the cast will be able to carry the show well.

The Last Empress extended their episodes: They did it because they are greedy for ratings!
