I'll working on my future to be a screenwriter to save K-Drama land from cliches. I'm currently gathering all my ideas on paper and when I look them... I knew female actresses will fight to be in my dramas lmao I won't say I'm a good writer (it's up to people to decide) but my female actresses won't suffer from cliché roles that's certain.

The mother is far worse than the father ! Don't want too much to spoil but the Big brother keep a lot of secrets…
Yeah, I found out about that. She is literal trash! What she did to Poongsang had me crying especially when he said he can't go to sleep unless he gets beaten because it's "too peaceful" to be true. Like I hate her so much! She stole Jin Sang and Haesang college money, Wae Sang rehabilitation and still had the AUDACITY to lie... I'm screaming. I can't believe Wae Sang believed someone who WASN'T there for him over his brother who basically raised him. At least confront him instead of believing it. Then she tries to use her oldest son to scam people by fake accident and almost sold her daughter to an old man... She is the worst character in the entire show. Poong sang is definitely pitiful. He is frustrating but at the same time, I can't help but cry for him. He needs to set his life straight.

A lot of people will disagree with me but this was great until the romance started to take over. It's usually people who do not like saeguk that enjoy these type of dramas. What I wanted to see was a king who would change the nation not a king who would chase after a queen to the ends of the world.

When the scholars told the king if he wanted to pass he had to walk on their back... And Haseon did JUST THAT had me laughing. That was my favorite part by far! Serves them right.

Just saw the first episode and I can already tell the siblings will be frustrating to watch. However... I'll have to disagree with the eldest son. Just cause the decreased is their father doesn't mean they need to respect him if he was a piece of shit. It's honestly hypocritical to say what he did but then go ahead and treats his own mother like that... Like??? She wasn't a good mother to you just like the father wasn't a good dad to your siblings.

2019 just started yet we already have more historical dramas than last year. It's my favorite genre so this makes me happy.

One of the things I enjoy the most about this drama is the female villains. Boy are they entertaining to watch. One minute they are at each other's throat, the next they allies and then back to enemies... Finally we get good female antagonists.

wait.. wasn't this 52 episodes already. Now it's back to 48?
Really? Maybe that's why episode 44 had a weird jump cut in the middle of the episode and why the episode felt all over the place. We only got 2 episodes... I wonder how they will tie the story with all the side characters?

Lmao, same here. The guy is off his rockers but strangely charming about it. I always anticipate the loony action…
It's probably because the actor is really good.

I feel like he is in love with loyalty. He was willing to kill Yura until she said she will cover up and take the blame for killing the mother...

The writer also been hinting to us a lot of times that he likes to keep people he "trust" (like Woo Bin) near him. I think this happened because Empress Dowager always manipulated and tried to take advantage of him so he do anything for anyone who are truly loyal to him. Unfortunately, we all know nobody is loyal to him lmao which is why he is messed up.

I'm literally finishing this for Kwak Dongyeon ONLY. I can't stand the male lead. At first I didn't mind him but ever since he liked the femle lead, he became insufferable. People find it cute how possessive he is but I don't. He keeps trying to control what she can and can't do. He calls her a thousands times like give her a chance to breathe. I also don't understand who is he to say who can touch her? It's none of his business. This level of insecurity being projected on Geum Rim is a huge turn off.

Ep 8 spoiler

I know some people were mad by the fact the King died but I'm not. He was almost like a dictator that would lead his "powerful" nation into bloodshed and starvation. If he didn't kill him, that man would have done a lot of nasty shit. A drug addict with hallucination can't rule a country. He deserved death 100%. I can't support a king who is willing to have hostages (and behead them) just because his favorite secretary resigned so he had to bring him back. If he "trusted" him THAT MUCH, he should have listened to him when he adviced him about Lord Shin but he didn't care. I can't support a king who wants to kill his queen but first he had to have sex with her... I can't with a king who almost killed his most loyal officer just because he couldn't fulfill an order. I don't really feel any sympathy for that bastard. He was a bad king and doesn't deserve to rule.

I feel like a lot of 16 episodes historical drama usually fall short because they lean more on the romance/fluff and less with politics which lowkey ruins the drama. They always start something they can never tie correctly (100 Days Prince, Love in the Moonlight). However, from what I've seen in the first 4 episodes, this drama is doing the exact opposite. It's more political and I'm digging it. I hope this won't go downhill just because of it's length.

They wasted such a good twist. How disappointing.

So before I start this drama, someone tell me if LJS is still playing the same typical role he always plays each drama? He knows how to pick a successful drama but the roles are usually not versatile.

Just how much more can these writers be provocative!! So he just gathered all those COLD-HEARTED KILLERS in one…
The crown prince have always been like this. I ain’t surprised. You forgot how he confronted his brother and mother about Empress Sohyun like he doesn’t know what happened to her AND his grandma?

I ain’t disagreeing with you on that. My comparison was based on the fact both were accidents and both were cover ups. Obviously their intentions were different. One did it to hid his exposed identity while the other did it because he is a massive coward who can’t handle an ounce of responsibility.

And yeah, she could have been saved but if my memory served me right, the one who knew she was alive was Min Yura and kept quiet about it. Of course that doesn’t really make him any less guilty lol

He fought to kill not to restraint. While yes he did fall to his death, CWB still used his corpse as his replacement by shooting him on the head which means he doesn't care about morality at this point. His case was similar to how his mother died. An accident but we hold the Emperor accountable for it because he covered it up.
