I feel like a lot of 16 episodes historical drama usually fall short because they lean more on the romance/fluff and less with politics which lowkey ruins the drama. They always start something they can never tie correctly (100 Days Prince, Love in the Moonlight). However, from what I've seen in the first 4 episodes, this drama is doing the exact opposite. It's more political and I'm digging it. I hope this won't go downhill just because of it's length.

They wasted such a good twist. How disappointing.

So before I start this drama, someone tell me if LJS is still playing the same typical role he always plays each drama? He knows how to pick a successful drama but the roles are usually not versatile.

Every year we always get people who only seen 3 dramas a year vote in these kind of polls.

The crown prince have always been like this. I ain’t surprised. You forgot how he confronted his brother and mother about Empress Sohyun like he doesn’t know what happened to her AND his grandma?

I ain’t disagreeing with you on that. My comparison was based on the fact both were accidents and both were cover ups. Obviously their intentions were different. One did it to hid his exposed identity while the other did it because he is a massive coward who can’t handle an ounce of responsibility.

And yeah, she could have been saved but if my memory served me right, the one who knew she was alive was Min Yura and kept quiet about it. Of course that doesn’t really make him any less guilty lol

He fought to kill not to restraint. While yes he did fall to his death, CWB still used his corpse as his replacement by shooting him on the head which means he doesn't care about morality at this point. His case was similar to how his mother died. An accident but we hold the Emperor accountable for it because he covered it up.

This drama has one of the weirdest comedy I've ever seen. It's very inappropriate considering the premise but for some strange reason it works so well. I find myself wondering every Wednesday and Thursday, "What kind of stupid shit will the Emperor do this time?". Like I'm impressed with the writer considering I absolutely despised the Emperor when I first started this but now I'm being charmed. For a villain, he is doing amazing.

I can't believe they pulled that "dead mother stops her son last minute from going into the wrong path" nonsense after everything that happened in this drama. Did they forget Na Wang Sik killed Ma Pil Joo or what? It's too late to twist it.

I think the Emperor is also framed.. Again. When Yoon was fighting Hyuk, I'm pretty sure he pulled that flower off him. Also the fact he changed fast into a grey suit is like...??? No way he attempted the killing.

So both 2017 rising stars are going to act in the same drama? In historical era? This would be interesting.

I’ve watched only 4 (8) episodes so far while the premise is not bad, I really can’t sympathize with any of the characters. I don’t know if the problem is with the casting but the male lead is so dull and boring. I don’t feel anything. No chemistry, no emotions, nothing. I wonder if someone else was casted, would it have made a difference or is it just lacking severely because the writing is meh. I’m considering dropping because the comments said the story isn’t going anywhere despite having 16 (32) episodes....

There is season 2 so you don't have to be that disappointed lol the downside is waiting for for it to come out tho.

What about Memories of Alhambra? It's quite original in terms of K-drama. I don't know if it's good as I haven't finished the drama yet.

I'll be honest here, I don't like Seho. I really can't bring myself to like him but the whole conversation with his mother in ep 26-27 left me in tears. This is the first time this drama brought out strong emotions for me.

I'll be watching this because Lee Yoo Ri is in it! I also like a good body swap story if done right.

Rich man/Poor woman is almost in EVERY drama. You can't escape them. We get 10 of those each seasons.

I keep seeing SM entertainment logo during the episodes, does that mean they worked in this drama or what?
